Sending your cypres through the x-ray at the airport
SkymonkeyONE replied to LearningTOfly's topic in Gear and Rigging
Does it destroy your laptop? How about your cellphone? I would not sweat it. -
How often you have your main canopy inspected?
SkymonkeyONE replied to marinho's topic in Gear and Rigging
Gus, apart from the cursury inspection I give my canopy just after every opening and the one I do as I am packing, the answer is "not until the canopy gets sent back to PD for relining every 600 jumps." chuck -
I simply deleted all the drama and left the post that really counted; the one which invited all the Texas guys to show up and jump. I hope you guys' weather forecast looks nicer than ours here in NC. Peace, Chuck

A good guess would be that the first meet in April and the last meet in August for pretty much every region.

Beezy, you are fucking KILLING me!
-
Dave, who exactly told you that it was OK to waive the RSL requirement for non-licensed students? Your S&TA does not have any "waiver authority" to allow such a thing. Chuck

what xbraced canopy do you fly?
SkymonkeyONE replied to superstu's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I know of only one person in the world jumping a JVX and that is Jim Slaton. The only two Senseis I know to exist are jumped by Brian Germain and Mike Swanson. -
Canopy Piloting World Cup

Heath did not make the top 8 at nationals, therefore he was not selected to compete at the IPC meet. -
Bring the pain, lip!

Very simply: I instruct to defray the cost of my sport jumping. If you are not going to "give back to the sport" then you can expect to go broke skydiving, at least if you hope to accumulate any great number of jumps in a year. Skydiving is a very expensive sport. Chuck

You can take busses anywhere in PR and they are cheap.

They landed all three tandems out in about two feet of water on a submerged sandbar out in the ocean; odd. One guy was jumping a total gutter-gear Strong, one guy an older vector. Two jumped out of a King Air and the last guy jumped out of a DC-3. I hope those guys got paid a lot to trash that gear.

That's cause you is a BOOOOOZEHAG! who luv's ya?

Sounds like a person relaying their actual experiences at the school to me.

it was a formation load.

Mike Johnston is the manager of Skydive Deland, isn't he? He at least runs the school. Carl Doherty still jumps at Deland.

Some will call me hard-headed and old-school, but I roll (flop) pack everything that I am in a hurry to get done. I flop pack my Firebolt 350 tandem main and even "forced" them to retrofit it with packing tabs! It made Peter and the boys nuts, but hey, it's my main right?- Perfect openings every single time.

That is exactly the process we use here at Raeford.

The BoneHead Bell-view is an awesome bellymount. Certainly the lightest and most articulated I have seen commercially produced.

Canopy Piloting World Cup
SkymonkeyONE replied to almacartney's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
It's pretty amazing that it went to 25th place before the first vertical (Eames). Bobo verticalled as well. Tagle blistered it and stayed clean; nice. Drew Lipinski is 5th after Speed. Shannon, Jay Moledzki and JC all had sub-three-second runs in one round. -
Depends on where you jump, but most places that do tandem progression variations go straight to one AFF instructor after the training tandems.
-
There is footage of that jump in the BirdMan training video.

Who gives a shit?

I am totally worthy.
