Well, he is a bit vertically challenged. Who are YOU calling short, fat boy?! You'z lucky I like you.

Likewise. I use neither a cameye nor any type of LED indicator. I simply do not put my helmet on until it's time to move to the door. At that time I press "record", check to see that I am recording, and put my helmet on while facing either the student or the group exiting in front of me. I am simply not a fan of extraneous bullshit on my head. Any regular reader of these forums will know that I also don't use a ringsite. If I am doing tandem video I am more than capable of keeping my subject in frame with the use of a "paper asshole" on my "video goggles". I seriously don't see the problem with having two or three seconds of possible "head bob" on the video as I put my helmet on. You can always edit that out on the board anyway. Chuck

Bill or Egon might speak up and say differently, but as I understand it, the Micro Sigma is designed to hold the same reserve. The container is just a big thicker to make it's length and width dimensions smaller. If either fits in a "regular" Sigma, either ought to fit in the new one. Bill? Egon?

Why are 90% of the authors on the first page BillyVance?

Billy is a total postwhore now. -
I will freely admit that I am definitely not afraid to put the smackdown on folks who deserve it. Oddly, it's normally on people who have been posting for a very long time and all of a sudden fancy themselves some sort of authority, no matter how infintesimile their actual skydiving experience. That or they think their post numbers give them some authority to faux-moderate or that their excessive posting gives them the right to launch personal attacks against others. It's not fun to have to do that stuff, but that's the job. It's much more fun to "out" trolls and imaginary characters created by people posting under false pretenses. I loathe people who prey on others emotions for their own sick benefit or monetary gain. That is all, C. Blue, esq.

I don't have RSL's on either of my sport rigs, I do not have the option of "unsnapping" it for different occastions. Personally, I don't have a problem with RSL's for just about any skydive; I just don't choose to use one. I DO have one on my tandem rig (which I always keep connected). Like my boy, Jairo, I jump a sub-100 main on every jump but tandems and I jump my video camera quite a bit. In 4,300 skydives I have: -two "regular" jump reserve rides with no RSL -two wingsuit reserve rides(one very, very ugly) with no RSL -one tandem reserve ride

white/red/black to match my sponsored rig.

Never mind all the candy-assed responses, Jackass. Shut the fuck up and drive on. You are the one that wanted the "big bucks" to go guard morons. Don't like it? Quit and go back to work at BellSouth. Oh yeah, feel free to buy me a beer for that tough love. Chuckie

Not the last time I saw it. Just another loud-ass DC-3.

Most modern ponds are in the 2.5 to 3 foot deep region. Shallow enough that you can stand up and get your rig out of the water, but deep enough to take a pretty hard glancing blow without pounding into the bottom. Chuck

You have less than the minimum amount of skydives needed to just go out and buy and fly a wingsuit on your own. That said, if you have a qualified instructor to train you then I see no reason why you can't go ahead and purchase a used suit. BirdMan sells now and has sold a lot of "stock" size suits. Most people selling used suits will put in the ad what size they are and what size range they know will fit in the suit. They generally figure this out from having other friends either fit or not fit into their suits. Also, if I (or any other BirdMan Instructor) knew the serial number of the suit you are looking at, we could tell you what measurements the suit was built to fit.

The Drowning Pool remake of "Bodies" is wholely inferior to the original Sex Pistols classic.
-
Don't you owe me beer anyway for putting you through the BMI course last year?
-
Actually, a bunch of us have them on the way. Mine, Scott's and Ed's will be in the first batch. Personally, I think it's going to be a fantastic suit for shooting back-fly video from under big flocks. Chuck
-
I don't see the point, Perry.
-
Unless you are Jari or Jussi, the answer is "no." None of the new suits have been delivered yet.

Movie & results Dutch Swoop Tour 05 2005
SkymonkeyONE replied to dragon2's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
"almost" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. -
Right, but can't you grab a still on your board and then fade it over your running video? That's what I am talking about. Fade a still over the canopy flight after about a minute, then fast forward your camera till right before your landing, then fade back to your video. Can you not do that on your board? Chuck

Like I said in the other thread: no, I have never heard of a deployment bag being called a P.O.D. What do I know though; I have only been skydiving 24 years?
-
exactly.

I wonder how many people laughed at that, Bets?! -
LOL! You got me!

Same way some people call French rapide links, "swiss links".
-
Are you not editing your footage at all? If you are not then I could see this as being a problem, but we edit all of our videos on a linear board and simply fast forward past boring stuff while we have a captured pic stuck on the screen for a bit. Also, no need to take your hands out of the toggles to start recording again. Simply bring both hands (still in the toggles) in front of you and hit the button. Personally, I just leave it running for the entire descent and then edit out a couple of minutes of it on the board. Chuck

A quick little front flip is marvelously effective in dropping altitude as well.
