Got this from www.faa.gov: As of 9/18/01 9:00 ESDFor general aviation operators and pilots, on September 14 the U.S. Department of Transportation approved resumption of general aviation Instrument Flight Rules, or IFR, flights. These pilots - operating under Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations - must be instrument-rated, must file IFR flight plans, and must receive a clearance before departure. Please note that flights under visual flight rules (VFR) have not been authorized, with the exception of agricultural aviation flights (crop dusters). JMC

Yep student status. I'll be landing at the barn. You can't miss me, I'm 6'4" with brown hair. I started my AFF on 9-8 so last Saturday would have been my second jump. JMC

Karen, Did you get to jump Saturday? I called Sky Dance at 9AM and they said as soon as they get a full plane they would go up. I jumped in my truck and it wouldn't run. I called back at 11:00 and she said the FAA changed their mind and they were grounded again. Just wondering if anyone got to jump? I didn't call Sunday as I had a prior commitment. JMC

I want to donate blood but don't know where to go. I called the Red Cross (1 800 GIVE LIFE) on Wednsday and they took all my info and said someone would contact me. They sent me an E-mail yesterday that said someone would call but I haven't heard from them since. Does anyone know who else I can call?

Both Skydance and Monterey are on my list of places to get out too, but probably won't happen until next month some time Once I finish my AFF I would like to try Monterey and also Sky Dive Lake Tahoe.

Shark, I made my first jump at SkyDance (last weekend). I hope to make my next jump this weekend (I just called and they aren't making any promisies). Does anyone else around here go to SkyDance?

Just called my DZ. They aren't making any promises. Made my first AFF last weekend and can't wait to jump again.

You're right, I can't stop smiling and I can't stop talking about it. My instructor warned me that all of my friends will get sick of me talking about sky diving.

The place is called Sky Dance. Near Sacramento CA. And yes, I am already saving my nickels. I have a prior commitment this weekend but will try to jump next weekend for sure.

Thanks. They wanted me to do a couple of tandems first but I figured you only make your first jump once so I went straight to AFF. I never thought I would enjoy it so much.

Saturday I made my first jump. That was awesome!! 50+ seconds of free fall at 120 mph. I wish I would have done it a long time ago. Can't wait to jump again........
