Kim Dear (Quantum Leap survivor) serialised story

I don't think his statement is fact, but more of conjecture of what *probably* was going on as the plane started to go down... Is a chicken omelette redundant? -
Thanks for all the input - especially the "horse cam" I'll keep plugging away on the bullet cam idea. I never considered having the horse wear the camera, only myself. The bulletcam seems the way to go for that. Thanks and happy trails! Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Kinda off-topic, so mods feel free to move/delete/lock this thread if I'm way off base. I used to skydive and now am involved in equestrian sports. And of COURSE I wanted to come to the best of the best for help (that would be ya'll). I'm trying to figure out how to do video from horseback for events, trail rides, lessons, etc. I was researching wireless cameras just so I wouldn't have to wear the whole rig on my head, on horseback we have the luxury of saddle bags. What would you guys and gals recommend I explore? Go with the traditional skydiving setup with the video on my helmet or try out a lipstick cam and feed to the saddlebag? Another challenge is that I would be filming for way more than the average skydive. Possibly up to an hour at a time. What about battery? HD storage? I read some of the camera recommendations and it sounds like I shoud go digital as I don't have to worry about extreme temperatures or pressures. Unless the horse sits on it. Lastly, how do I even start modifying my helmet for camera? Any and all advice is appreciated! Is a chicken omelette redundant?

I figured so much about your Aunt. What a tough situation to be in. I would make it adamantly clear to her that those dogs are NEVER, EVER to be left outside unattended. Even with a hot wire. I hope you put a good 6k volts through that thing, because most hot wires won't phase dogs that size or mentality. How about building a nice big dog run for the beasts? If she won't get rid of em, or won't train em, at least cage em. Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Are you visiting or do ya'll live together? I'm just absolutely astounded. How old are these dogs? Are they let to run loose? I'm sorry about Charlotte, that's just a horrible, completely avoidable thing to happen. Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Getting over a painful breakup -- what do you do?

I do the pity party thing. I get exactly 24 hours to drink, cry, mourn, and pity myself. I call in sick, rent sloppy movies, buy ice cream and other junk food and of course a fifth of Jack and proceed to have a party for one. After the 24 hours, clean myself up, dry the tears, suck it up and get on with life. Is a chicken omelette redundant? -

DrTWT - sound like you started "back in the day" when some of the progressions were being developed. For what it's worth, I did a tandem progression. I did 3 total tandems. The first to get my "knees in the breeze", the second with altitude awareness, wind sock location and helping flare. The last with turns, pulling on my own and stability. After those 3 I went through teh FJC course and started at a Level 3 AFF. Which means I had one jump (if it went well) with 2 instructors and after that only one until I graduated. I like it because I really didn't have the courge to "just go do it" all by my lonesome. It was reassuring to have someone on my back that knew what the hell was going on. The one drawback was that I tended to backslide once I was out on my own. Mainly due to the fact that in a tandem, even though you are part of keeping the team stable, it really is in the TM's body position that keeps you where you are. As for starting again, it all depends on what your gut tells you but I would say all of the progressions have their pros and cons. Blue Skies! Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Your post reminded me of Hallmarks of Felinity Not a cat lover myself, but can appreciate their character.

I actually kinda liked it. And yeah the first part of it had me going "what the hell..." then it gets better. They are not shy on the gratiutious use of blood and gore. However, as it wraps up it had my attention. The entire premise is far-fetched, but what movie isn't these days? Is a chicken omelette redundant?

If you want a museum in San Diego - hit Balboa Park. They have everything from botanical to fine art and it's righ there in SD! As for DZ's the big-3 are of course Skydive San Diego in Otay (was my home dz for a bit), Elsinore (great, great, great people), and Perris (skydiving nirvana complete with bar) I like all 3 and they are all very different, each in their own good way. Don't forget to take a walk on the beach and through Coronado Island either! Quaff a brewski at McP's Pub, tell Scotty I said "hi" Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm confused, is Paint a color or a breed? I highly doubt the Appaloosa, he's not that snotty. All else I can tell you is he's very "square". He's stocky, square muzzle/nose, largeish round hoofs. Eh, I'll jsut call him "Western Stockhorse" and be done with it.
-
OK, you horse saavy people out there. This is the horse we are buying. 16 years old, trail trained, good all around horse. But - what breed is he? I've heard he's a mix, but of what? And what's up with that coloring? Is a chicken omelette redundant?

Do you mean this Horse and Rider magazine? Thanks for the pole bending advice. I'm not real sure what he's going to be up for. We're still working on basics with each other. I just want something to work *towards*, y'know?! Is a chicken omelette redundant?

This is a great thread for me too! I've been taking riding lessons for about a year now. I just had a birthday and my training horse is also now for sale. Go figure... looks like I'll be a new horse owner. I'm also thinking about gear. Right now I'm riding on a western "Tucker" trail saddle. It's like sitting in a Cadillac. Luckily, my barn is very generous about gear and everyone lets everyone try their saddles for fit, comfort, etc. I want to compete in *something* and this horse has spent many years doing trails. He's new to the arena, kinda hates it, but tolerates it if we keep moving. I was thinking about pole bending, and something called "extreme cowboy" with the "cowboy wall" and stuff. Anyone have any thoughts on those disciplines? Also - what is a good western horse mag to get? Is a chicken omelette redundant?

My dog woke me up at 0515 PST that day, howling like his ass was on fire. Odd. Decided to get up and start my day. Got coffee, turned on the TV and saw the first tower in flames/smoke. WTF? Did I leave it on HBO? Realized that this in fact was real and unfolding. About 15 min later the second tower was struck. I was also unemployed and spent the rest of the day in shock watching TV. Make that 2 lives you changed. I knew about horses as delicacy and that's fine, but I didn't know the slaughters houses didn't fall under USDA - that is BAD I also will not consider using Premarin when the times comes and will let every woman I know not to use it either!
