  1. Probably not, but what do I know? Use Sudafed and Afrin Nasal Spray an hour or so before jumping and it will help a lot with ear and sinus issues. Are you going to be at Z-Hills tomorrow?
  2. Jessica sounds like an unfit parent for sure. Beyond all that you have communicated here, I would bet they have other very serious issues (methamphetamine or other drug additions) and could be ruled unfit as a parent. If you truly want to help this “person’s” children why not call social services or similar and then go about trying to adopt these children? With the person you describe being a parent to these children they are going to have serious difficulties ever living a normal life, and their BRIEF experiences with you as an Aunt are not going to make much of a difference to their character development and adult life.
  3. So why the need for a post here, and why do you have any contact with this POS?
  4. Use the money earmarked for “pimping out the Saturn” (LOL - no offence) for skydiving instead. In a year or two you will regret the money you wasted on the POS car, and could have had instead great times and learning something with skydiving. $2500 should get you’re A license and then some.
  5. Open ‘My Computer’ or any other windows explorer window Go to ‘Tools’ then ‘Options’ Click on the ‘File Type’ tab Scroll down the list to find and select ‘URL’ Click the ‘Change’ button Select ‘Internet Explorer’ Oh yea, and get FireFox.
  6. Don't get married. It really is that simple, you don’t change your mind when faced with adversity when you have made a commitment. The whole sickness and in health until death do you part thing.

    Fatality

I am thinking (hoping) the original poster was being sarcastic.
  8. Weather may also present a problem.
  9. Links are not working for me, takes me to main skydivingmovies page. What is the name of the file, or your username there?
  10. Called the M1s. You should hear a V4 with open headers
  11. Your office network uses a proxy server to speed up web browsing by caching common images and pages, so that it get them from a local server instead of going out to the internet. Make web browsing seem much faster.
  12. Judging by the taped lights, street plastic, and lack of plates the rider is doing a track day and is not a racer. Most riders doing track days use sport street rubber like Pilot Powers, Diablo’s, etc. I can’t tell by the pattern, but it looks like he is running M1s, not sure?
  13. Where is the bomb squad table? I was sitting in the lawn chair in front all day waiting to go up for AFF3 after being on load 1 for my AFF2. I left when the big storm was coming in around 3 and didn't get to do AFF3 today. I was happy to at least get one jump in.
  14. I hear you. Got to sit all day at the DZ today and no AFF jumps. Looks like tomorrow is going to be the same. I HATE Florida.
  15. Ah ywa, survival reactions. Every one should read Twist of the wrist 2.
  16. I will agree that it is possible to learn on a large bike, but in my experience few I have seen that have started on a large bike last very long. Perhaps it has more to do with a responsible person choosing a smaller bike to learn on, rather than the smaller bike itself. I just see an awful lot of kids on 600 and 1000 race reps that don’t last a year in the sport. The 1000rr is nice; I have been lusting over them for some time, but am waiting for the 07 lineup, hopefully a new VFR.
  17. It is more difficult to get it up to higher speeds as quickly. Also, the throttle is not as twitchy. It you hit a mid corner bump with over a 100 horsepower in your right wrist (which with a new rider has a death grip and a tense arm) you can spin the rear up and low or high side much faster than if you have 50-70 horsepower in your right wrist. I agree it is not the bike it is the rider, but some bikes are much easier and more forgiving to learn on, that is just a fact.
  18. Do yourself a favor and take a racing school at Jennings GP, not too far from you. There is a class July 14th and I promise it will be the best money you ever spent WRT motorcycles. Do a 2 day course if you can afford it, but 1 day is better than nothing and will go a long way towards keeping yourself alive. http://www.edbargyracingschool.com/ http://www.jenningsgp.com/
  19. For comparison, from the back of my latest "Motorcyclist" magazine:
  20. Insurance is very expensive here, same situation, a newbie on a liter bike would pay more than 50% of the sticker price annually in insurance premiums. What they do to get around the insurance requirement and what is allows most of the squids to get one is, they issue you a credit card with a high enough limit to purchase the bike, and you purchase it that way. Since it is unsecured credit (no lien on the bike) full coverage insurance is not required. The bike is usually promptly totaled and the kid ends up paying for the bike for the next 10-15 years at 17%+ or declares bankruptcy.
  21. WTF? Why not just use vibrate? That is 15khz which most anyone without severely damaged hearing is going to hear just fine (and be annoyed by).
  22. Most of the people giving you good advice here know exactly what an SV1000 is, many have probably ridden them. The front wheel will come off the ground without clutch in first, I promise. Keep dropping the clutch in first and you will land on your ass soon. Whoever told you that bike is suitable for a beginner knows a lot less than you, and they think they do. Does this person ride anywhere but to Bike Night? What kind of clothing do they wear when they ride? Do they really care about your safety, i.e. the person that sold it to you? Go to any motorcycle forum other than stunter or squid forums and seek opinion there from a large pool of people with a lot of experience in this area, they will all tell you to start small and a 1000 twin is not a good starter bike.
  23. Why would you let someone take their first ride on your liter bike? Have you heard of MSF, that is what it is for? And for that matter, what are you doing getting a liter machine for your first ride? Good luck to you – others have made it starting off big, but many don’t. It usually doesn’t bite them in the first 3 weeks either; it is 3-6 months into ownership when they get hurt/dead. ETA: Is the $1600 dealer repaired, or ordering parts from RonAyers? If it is dealer costs, find the cost of ordering the parts and fixing yourself it is very easy and you share some blame for the damage. So, order the parts and don’t install them for 12 months, you’ll thank me later.
  24. Why? I like riding in the rain, it is a lot cooler. On clean wet pavement you have like 70+ percent of dry traction and modern sport tires slide pretty predictably (just watch out for steel, painted lines, oil, etc). Also, the V shape of a motorcycle tire makes it resistant to hydroplaning.
  25. Are you serious? WTF? I am still a wuffo but I think I would have knocked the guy out in this circumstance.
