  1. I can understand that you might not take me seriously as I haven’t filled in my profile, I chose not to because I would prefer to remain anonymous even at the expense of this message having less weight. As a fairly new skydiver I don’t really know how far I can comment without recriminations. If you don’t trust me that’s entirely your choice, however I am also a jumper from the UK and there is no bullshit-I do not know Andreas. Anyway like I said it’s your choice, hopefully you will have a better experience out there than we did.
  2. Hello-wondering what anyone thinks of my experience with skydive Thailand; I called trying to arrange for my younger brother to jump, and to ensure that they had kit for hire for myself. I was told to book quickly online as places for the desired date were filling up fast, and that there would be AFF kit available to jump. When we arrived (after getting up at 4am to travel across Thailand!) we found ourselves the only ones there, and there was no kit. Furthermore the owner of skydive Thailand was in Bangkok-leaving the owner of skydive Pattaya which according to the owner was "entirely independent of skydive Thailand" to do the tandem. My brother and I were more than a little disappointed, and he decided not to jump-wanting to jump 1st time with me riding up in the plane. I wouldn’t want to comment on the character of the owner whom I have never met, and will try to put this down to simple unprofessionally and incompetence. On the positive side I think that the DZ has potential, being the 1st in Thailand, in a popular tourist area and close to Bangkok. The staff (along with the owner of skydive Pattya) were friendly and helpful. Hate to come on here and bitch but I was so disappointed that I wanted to warn any potential customers and also find out if this is a common experience?
  3. Unfortunately I have also recently had a very bad experience from skydive Thailand: On calling to book my brothers tandem I was told that they we're nearly fully booked for the Saturday (so I quickly booked online)-but we were the only ones there, I was told explicitly that there would be kit for hire but there was none (apparently there was an attempt made to borrow kit from local jumpers), and the owner was not present (was in bankbook) and had left the tandem to another company-‘skydive Pattaya’. This was obviously very disappointing, as my brother had got his hopes up for jumping with me, so we left without my brother jumping. From this impression skydive Thailand appears unprofessional at best, but I fear likely much worse. Just so everyone knows much of what the infrequently updated website promises isn’t there-notably the 'late 2005 porter'. Staff themselves and the operator of 'skydive Pattaya' were friendly and it would be a wonderful place for DZ, but ruined by behaviour of owner.
