Holy crap! I guess it wouldn't be as bad with the low opening shock though... At terminal that would be fuckin nuts (not that what he did wasn't). Is there video of that somewhere? Gravity Waits for No One. -

There is a freebase video of Miles D. at some famous US bridge.... Freebase? What's that? I assume we're not talking drugs here, lol. Gravity Waits for No One. -
Why is there a big target on the back of it? Is that where you push to open it? Gravity Waits for No One.

A little over a year ago, I surprised my ex-gf with her AFF-1 and FJC for her b-day (It would be my first jump too). I looked around quite a bit for DZs and made an educated decision as to which place I thought would be best, as opposed to just picking the closest location. My choice was based on a combination of location, price and safety. The locations I had to choose from were Skydance (Davis, CA), Bay Area Skydiving (Byron, CA), and Lodi, CA. Both Davis and Byron were, from everything I've heard, much safer than Lodi, so even though Lodi was much cheaper than the others, and a bit closer than Byron I wasn't willing to jump there (especially for my first jumps). However, I was paying for two and Davis was gonna cost me over $100 more for both of us, so even though Byron was about 45min further, I chose them. Both Byron and Davis said good things about each other, so as far as quality and safety goes, I placed them pretty much at the same level. Having visited Davis, I think they definitely have better facilities and a little higher quality of instruction and equipment... However, that definitely would not have been worth the extra $100. I assume most first time jumpers primarily just find the closest or cheapest place they can find. Gravity Waits for No One.

Has anyone done a Mr. Bill (or similar) without having a rig physically attached to them? I know the same guy in this video jumped with the rig off, but I heard he was using some sort of cable attachment... Anyone know? Gravity Waits for No One. -
only latent homosexuals would consider being naked as being gay.. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking when he made that comment... Hey, but if he's gay then there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe he should just "come out". Gravity Waits for No One.

You can be a packer BEFORE you jump at many DZs. If it's a busy DZ you can make a decent amount of money... About $15 to $20 per hour... (about $5 per pack job) You should talk to the DZO (Drop Zone Owner) at the location you plan to jump at and see if they'd be interested... You might be able to kill two birds with one stone. Gravity Waits for No One.

Wow, please tell me you aren't serious! Sick. Gravity Waits for No One.

Get the car so you can drive to your new job as a packer at the DZ. Become friends with the AFFIs and DZO so you can possibly get a deal on your AFF program. Gravity Waits for No One.

Yeah, I know about that trick... It works pretty good too. But it just doesn't provide the same degree of timeless aesthetics that staples, twine and hot-melt glue afford. Gravity Waits for No One.
-
Staples... Preferably the big ones that they close cardboard boxes with... Either that or you could use a hot-melt glue gun and twine. Just sew it closed with the twine and then squirt some of the glue on top for good measure. Gravity Waits for No One.

That's crazy talk... You march right over to your nearest DZ and make some jumps young man! I'm not sure how the jumpers are at your DZ, but where I go it's pretty easy to find someone to jump with, especially on the weekends. Have you asked anyone if they'll jump with you? If you have an abundance of time and don't have enough money for a cypress, then why aren't you working? If your main is too large, then why not get something smaller? If you really have a whole lot of time, then you could even swap your container, if you needed to. So you can freefly in all positions including translational and rotational moves without corking? And you can reliably transition from head-down to sit/stand and vice-versa? If your DZ sucks then hell yeah, get the eff outa there at all costs! Gravity Waits for No One.

It's utterly amazing how many times this works... Hell, one time I walked right into Pac bell Stadium (near Sand Francisco, CA) in the middle of the night and ran the bases, by just walking right by the security guards with a commanding presence. I've done the same thing to get into high-cover-charge events. It's almost like using Jedi mind tricks or something, lol. Gravity Waits for No One.

Awww, but I really wanted to go with desert camo on the top and sky-blue on the bottom. Gravity Waits for No One.

Yep, I know, I do my best to be super aware of who's around me while under canopy. But there are situations where there's gonna be nothing you can do to get out of the other persons way... Like if they're flying in super fast from an angle you can't see them from. I actually had that happen recently... A guy came in on me (at high altitude) at about 80mph (his WL was something crazy like 2.8). I think he must've hooked from above me because I had no idea he was around me until he flew within 100ft of me... I'm a newbie, so I don't know from experience, but I do know that canopy collisions ARE a big killer, so I'd like to make a color choice that doesn't essentially camouflage me in the sky... Yes, I know blue is the bestest color... Just probably not for canopies... With respect to safety at least. Gravity Waits for No One.
-
heh, yeah, I'd like to do my best to NOT blend into the sky... I think I'd have a higher risk of having a canopy collision that way... Gravity Waits for No One.
-
You should've put the option for the other way around... I've had a few girls ask to hold it while I pee... And of course I let them. No big deal, except most girls have terrible aim. Gravity Waits for No One.
-
Yeah, I think you're right... I'm gonna go with Pink and Magenta... and maybe throw some purple in there for good measure. Gravity Waits for No One.
-
Totally. I'm sure I'd get flamed for a while, but I could really give a shit. I'm thinking I might do that design with red ribs... I kinda think it would look cool having "flames" inside. I've seen that on another canopy and liked the way it looked. It's too bad you can't get tie-dye ZP. Gravity Waits for No One.

Did you look at the image attachment? My "sunset" color designs are #s 1 thru 5. Gravity Waits for No One.

Haha. Please put the bottle down! Gravity Waits for No One.

Haha, yeah, it was actually "only" twice... The first time I forgot to put the numbers in on each of the poll options (because I thought they showed up automatically) and then I realized that I hadn't checked the multiple answers option. I know, I know... Neither could be changed without starting from scratch. Gravity Waits for No One.

So, I've decided to purchase a new Saber 2, but I'm not sure what colors/design I want. I came up with several designs, but I really need some help slimming down my list. Also, they are NOT in the order of my preference... I just tried to group them by color. I'm obviously going to make up my own mind in the end, but just thought it might be helpful to get others' opinions. Feel free to vote on more than one design. Thanks a lot in advance for the help!
