  1. There needs to be a better way to view old posts and threads other that just searching for key words!!!!!!!!! There are currently 187240 threads, and in the future this number will only increase. Imagine all the information that is contained in all those posts that is not being read. Searching for a key words often will return search results that are all in the same thread, it can take literaly hours to find a simple answer to a question. It often cause people to post the same questions over and over, and then some moderator will answer by saying do a search, this in general spreads a lot of negativity within the forum. We need to act now to further catagorize all the thread, specifically. Perhaps at the very least we should change the seach engine to search for threads and not individual posts that are all in the same thread.
  2. comcast just unpluged my free cable, so i think im gonna see what its like with no tv for about a week, then ill plug my cable back up
  3. i have the same problem with a pd 230 from the dz's rental gear, i can hardly land that thing, my 40 jumps prior on a 190 were great, i really need to buy a rig, why is gear so freaking expensive
  4. also notice that in that video they were going head down which would alow the booties to stay on, but going into a sit would probably be a totaly different story
  5. for my first 45 jumps i drove 5 hours to get to The Farm from Savannah, it was a killer drive but usually worth it
  6. only a certified rigger can pack a live reserve, and a student rigger is not yet a licensed rigger
  7. do you have to register in advance or can i pay registration when i get there? Just in case st patricks in savannah gets to crazy and i dont make it to the boogie
  8. This was a realy cool place to hang out at, everyone was friendly and eager to help, the ride to altitude has some great views of the ocean, its also in a great little city with restaurants only a minute away, the landing was easy to land, they sell standard acessories and had have used gear to sell also, the family staff is awesome, good place to chill
  9. a while back around may, i made a thread that had about 3 pages of posts, i think it was titled "Life" but im not positive i tried to find it by clicking on my user profile and then i clicked to view my post but the post in that thread didnt show up, im guessing they were deleted or recycled or archived my post count is 18, but when i view my all my posts only 10 are displayed, where are my missing 8 posts so im wondering if there is any way for me to view my old post, and if not i would like to know why my thread was deleted, i had a serious conversation going about the lives of skydiver and now when i want to go back and review it, its gone someone help
  10. i dont think you guys understand, i dont want 3rd person video of myself or anyone, i just want my pov shots, and im not going to be filming anything except the ground and the view, you guys need to relax a bit, and stop being so critical, it doesnt take any skill to film the kind of shots that i want, its not like its going to inhibit or distract me in any way maybe $300 is a little low so maybe i can push my budget to $500, im just a poor college kid my opinion is that if you cant answer my questions in a way that will help me, then dont bother responding, i dont need your pessimism
  11. hey basically ive just recently started skydiving and i just want a little video camera that has a decent quality so i can record my jumps i have had video cameras in the past but im not sure about how free falling will effect the shot are my videos going to be blurry? do different lenses impove quality? i want a camera that will record crisp clear videos, but im not necessarily looking for a profesional camera or anything whats a good cheep camera ($300 limit)
  12. can anyone suggest a good duty station, i know they dont let you pick, but just in case im able to negotiate i want parachute rigging not cargo rigging im guessing benning whould be the place for that, but i think im probably gonna end up in brag
  13. ive been looking into this for over 2 months and have read almost everything there is to read on the net about the army but i preaty much already decided that im joining
  14. true well at this point i really could see myself being a career soldier, i guess i was just wanting someone to tell me that I would be happy in the Army, but i seem to keep reading everywere the opposite response, my first enlistment is only for 2 years, so its not really that bad and if i want to stay in after that it will be my choice, im just really uneasy about giving over the next 2 years of my life to the army, im scared that i will either hate it, or that i will love it and want to stay in but be stuck in a position of rigger without much hope of promotion, and not geting to do actuall rigging im really bored of civilian life, and i think i would like the military, i just hope parachute rigging is at the very least gonna be a fun job, and earn me some respect amongst all the other MOS's i would be really interested in the opinions of people who have been in the army as riggers
  15. anyone else have anything else to say about army rigging? Im gonna sign up today, unless i get advice not to do you guys think that i will actually learn to rigg and jump in the army, or am i going to be doing remedial military shit???
  16. hmm, looks like I'm going to be doing most of my training in Ft. Jackson, except for a 3 week trip to Ft Benning yeah I kinda heard that Bragg was the main Airborne base but I haven't heard anything about Jackson
  17. Hey guys, I'm considering joining the army as a parashute rigger (92R). I have my contract ready, just waiting for my signature, should be great fun. I'm just wondering what you guys think about the Army Airborne? I hope this is going to give me good experience. I'm thinking that once I'm out I can earn a living as a skydive rigger. Am I going to have to train for a civilian skydiving licence? I would think not, but I know they are probably a lot different. Does Army rigging experience transfer over to civilian rigging? Any advice?

"You lazy little shit. If you're disillusioned with academics but still want a way to contribute to the nation's brain trust then I have a two for one deal for ya. When you get to Dallas, go to the airport and buy a ticket to Los Angeles. When you leave Texas and land in California you will simultaneously increase the average IQ in both states. You dickhead. " im not lazy im just idealistic, by the way that was harsh especially for a principal, i think most people hated their high school principal, so no your opinion is meaningless to me

"The only way to earn free time is to have the cash in hand to use the free time." see i kinda disagree with that, i think our society has their priorities messed up, we value money too much, we spend our lives in the persuit of accumulation, we fill our big houses full of junk, then before you know it your 50 and havent done anything meaningfull with yor life i could see myself living in a tent for at least 5 years, spending all my money on living life, i mean most people spend most their money on rent, it seems like if i could avoid that everything would be golden
