1. Tunnel time 2. AFF 3. A License 4. Canopy course 5. Water training and B license 6. 2-hour Tunnel camp (by now you probably know what style of flying you like) 7. C license 8. Rigger's ticket 9. D-license 10. Coach rating (this doesn't mean you have to coach belly - you can coach freeflying, or whatever you like). The coach rating gets you a tiny bit of respect (and I mean a tiny bit), if nothing else. But it also helps you jump with newer jumpers if you want. And from here you can find out if you ever want to teach. Quote Thanks! Yes, I'm looking forward to all these things once I scrape some dough together. "A" is the most important, of course and as for all the others... I haven't really even had the time to research all the different levels yet. This has all happened so fast, so I'm looking forward to slowing down! I tend to go all the way with everything I do, however, so the licenses seem like a logical progression over time;-)

Chest-mount ripcord/spring-loaded PC/SOS system. Quote So, is it just the ripcord that is mounted on the front of her harness or is the reserve there too? (Having a hard time picturing.) Is this an older set-up, a type of rig, or a preference? Why would you want one over the other?

I just hope that I can keep my cool as you did. I hear you just do your EP's, like your brain turns on the right switch because you practiced. What EXACTLY went through your mind after you tried to pull twice? Was it like, pull, shit, pull again, shit, PULL RESERVE or what?

Ahh, gotcha. I worked on those darn left turns that had been giving me trouble and then did some rear riser work upon opening. It was a short 9 grand jump, so I didn't want to do much more than that because the fear-factor came into play a little.

LOL! Big head? Hmm, I hadn't noticed. Hehe. Thanks for the no - solo tip. I'm stoked I finished when I did because I have friend/coach coming into town this weekend, so he'll shoot video and guide me get though all those A requirements. (Hopefully, it will only cost me his jump ticket and some beer.) Then, I'll reconnect with BodyPilot1 for some finger pointing and head shaking in another 10 jumps or so. Sound like a good plan?

Congrats to SSG and Dottie!!! I passed yesterday too and the following advice ALMOST landed me on my feet... twice: "10 feet get ready. Look out 45 degrees in front. 5 feet you better be flaring!!!" Cheers!

***I did not expect how it felt though, the wind was intense, it was hard to breathe ... I totally couldn't breathe on my first Tandem either. I remember that I kept bringing my hands to my mouth and trying to keep the air out. (Yeah, like that will work;-) A friend told me to take a few deep breaths before you get to the door, then breathe in and exhale slowly when you exit. This way, your lungs will be empty and then you can breathe normal. I would, however, recommend keeping your mouth shut and try to take deep breaths in though your nose so you don't have all that extra air coming in. Everytime you jump your breathing gets easier and who knows, maybe by concentrating on my breathing before I left the plane is what kept my nerves under control. P.S. I ended up doing 2 more Tandems before my AFF training even started, so yeah... it gets better. Skydiving rocks! Have FUN and be SAFE!

My last two AFF jumps were so freaking AMAZING!!! Shoot, it only took jumps 5, 6, & 7 to get those damn left turns down, but after that it was pretty much home free!!! Back flips rock and I can't wait to start trying out new exits while working on ALL the other fundamentals during my quest for an A License. Also, I'm very much looking forward to gaining the confidence and the skill to do 2 & 3 ways soon because my first solo jump after graduation was kinda boring. I mean, I totally missed my instructor!!! You rock BodyPilot1!!! Hopefully you'll see me at a DZ and not on a corner in San Francisco begging for ticket money!!! Blue Skies!!! Whoohoo!!!

***...Sitting at work daydreaming and looking at skydiving websites just to get close to it I totally feel you!!! And I'm on a COMMISSION PLAN, which means I need to get this work done, so I can pay for tickets and gear rental and I still can't concentrate on it!!! I just graduated from AFF yesterday and Saturday can't come fast enough. Good luck with the rest of your class and don't forget to bring some extra dough for the case of beer you'll no doubt owe once you're done.

I'd say that if the outline hurt a little the shading will hurt just a little bit more. When you color it in, the artist will move over the same skin over and over during shading, hence more pressure... It's kinda like if you keep scratching at a rash in the same spot it will get red and irritated. Still, I have them in fleshy areas and bony areas and they all didn't hurt that much. Just don't have any alcohol in your system, otherwise you will bleed more because it thins your blood.

I've only taken my 1st AFF jump and am in the process of reading, "Parachuting, The Skydivers Handbook." I'm starting to venture beyond just learning about malfunctions and beginning to pay attention to causes of death. My biggest fear is that I will freeze when an emergency presents itself and am trying to drill, "When in doubt whip it out," into my mind. This story brought a tear to my eye because it made me feel like the confidence I am developing, just by going though the motions over and over, is justified and that I will know what to do when a lineover, horseshoe, linetwist... etc. presents itself. So, thanks.

It's been raining like hell in NorCal for the past couple of weeks, which didn't use to bother me because it meant SICK powder days in Tahoe. That's all changed! My second AFF jump was postponed due to weather Sunday and I'm afraid it's going to happen again this weekend. To make things worse, my instructor is going up with a load right now!!! (Txt. messaging has its downfalls.) What do you do when you know it's going to rain all weekend, but it's really sunny on a weekday (workday.) How do you resist from calling in sick? Is it just the newness of it all that is driving me crazy??? Will I be able to control myself as I do during most of ski season and resist coming down with a sinus/ear infection???

...and I'm already feeling sick!!! Hey there, just dropping by to introduce myself... I did my first Tandem and then my second and then my third within two consecutive weekends last month. I started the AFF course yesterday. What can I say... I'm STOKED!!!
