A few things to note before you read... Never been to skydive arizona, don't own my own rig yet, never done emergency procedures. Let me know what you think about the dream, I thought it was pretty damn crazy, and detailed. -=-=-=-=-=-=- People from our club went on a trip (Halder, Emma, Me, Justin, Chris, Jason) went on a trip to skydive Arizona. Our car broke down somewhere near the end of our destination so for some reason we decided to walk the rest of the way. Then the dream turned Indiana Jones on me. We had to walk down this rock corridor for some reason. There was a trailer on the right; it was very dinky looking... door falling off with rust and what not. Next to the trailer was a tree with a bear hanging dead and upside down. It was all bloody, looked like a food source for who ever lived in the trailer. From this point on Justin kept talking about how cool it would be to go up and cut the bears head off to keep as a souvenir. The floor of the corridor turned into what looked like the floor of an attic, with 2x4's spaced out and for what ever reason you couldn't step in between them. So we kept walking until we got to the base of a cliff. The cliff was setup for climbing, with handles every foot all the way up, so we all climbed. Once we got to the top there was a mountain trail. We walked down the trail... *it got fuzzy here* We came back up the same trail a little while later, either turning around on accident or purpose, i don't remember. As everyone looked down the cliff nobody wanted to climb down it, including me. So everyone busted out parachutes... not rigs... just parachutes... In really tiny bags... and jumped down. I was sitting there wondering where they all got the damn things. So I'm sitting alone on top of this cliff for a good 30-45 minutes before I decided to climb down. The second I started climbing down the cliff became horizontal, I was able to just stand up and walk down it. So I kept walking until the trailer when an old guy popped out and started yelling about why I was there. I ran away and hid. I eventually started making my way back, and as I was crossing the area with the 2x4's I see the guy gearing up with a flame thrower. So I start running real fast, just barely missing a blaze. The guy chases me until we come upon a cave. I ran into the cave and it was fairly straight. I see the exit of the cave and just run as hard as I can. The cave exited into a drop to skydive Arizona. (I had no bag and I wasn't carrying anything up until this point) but I reach into my backpack and pull out a rig. (Also don't own a rig yet) It was blue and green and fairly small. I fumbled with it during freefall, doing my best to get it on. I eventually get it on backwards without leg straps and decided that I'm getting too close to the ground so I pull anyway. Goes straight into a horseshoe. So I take one end of the rig off, and grab the pilot chute. At this point I see Halder about 20 feet below me in freefall. In looks up freaks out and tracks off. I get the rig on right, and throw the pilot chute out. Nothing happens. So I move on to emergency procedures. (Which I've never done before) Works out fine from what I can tell, because my field of view shifted to what I can only assume was Halder's. I see a little speck just barely getting open. Land smack dab in the peas. *dream fades to black for a while* I wake up in a circle, that I can only assume to be a landing area, although it looked a lot tinier then ours. I walked over to a courtyard where the other members of my club were sitting and chatting about dinner. None of them look too excited to see me, and they're all discussing dinner for that night. I try and tell Chris about the adventure that happened and he just ignores me and continues talking about dinner. Then I ask Emma if they have a rigger on site and how much it'll cost to get a repack. *fade to black and I wake up from dream*

nope... horny gorilla is off limits. the rig has very poor bridle protection and such. fruit loop sounds cool... i might give that a shot this weekend.

I'm in favor of the make shift method that I took... 13 static line jumps (up to 10 second delays) 1 AFF jump (at level 3) 40 minutes tunnel time 1 AFF jump (at level 4) 10 coach jumps off student status the same day i earn my license... and I got to experiance everything except tandem :-P -

So, before my post on fun jumps I'd never heard of an SCR... and neither had a lot of the coaches/instructers at my DZ.. what other kind of awards are there? and are these things worth striving to achieve? -
oh.. i tried a hybrid last weekend... we totally shot the linked exit and ended up all over the sky.
-
practice on my hand ?!? i don't know about that one...
-
oppsy, my bad... on forgetting the kiss pass. not too many girls at our dropzone, and the only 2 i can think of right now are married and on student status :-(

I used to feel the same way... and then I got off student status (being cocky and all) decided to jump in 18-20... landed over the river. (20 minute drive) basiclly, what i'm trying to say... it's better to be on the ground then walking back, or waiting for a ride.. -
oh... i saw a bat hang on our end of year video, but i don't know if i have the balls or muscle strength to try that....
-
So, I got my A license 2 weekends ago...
