You think that's exclusive to Iraq? I don't. You need to think in broader terms of history than that. Read the rest of that quote and note Quade's use of the word "now" in it. He didn't say this was a decades long problem. Now buying the judicial argument either. The guy fled the country to avoid part of his sentence. It's not the Swiss judge's role to determine if he really fulfilled that sentence for underage rape or not. That could be disputed at the hearing in LA. It should be a fairly straightforward matter. One that could easily have been taken care of decades ago. Polanski instead fled the country and his obligation for the crime he admitted to. Once teh judge renegged on teh plea deal, or was contemplating it. No way he could ever get an impartial jury after making a confession per plea deal.

We just quit executing people for murders committed as juveniles 6 or 7 years ago. Then the world had like 7 or 8 countries still doing it. Polanski's deal was butchered by the judge, it was teh right thing to do, esp considering the victim wanted that.

Yea, moon skydivers landing at an impromptu DZ.

Yea, King isn't a problem, he's a real gem: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/06/15/obama-favors-black-americans-iowa-rep-steve-king-says/ Rep. Steve King, an Iowa Republican, said Monday that President Obama favors black Americans over whites -- and showed it when he sided with an African American Harvard professor after a confrontation last year with a white police officer. Ladies and gents, the new David Duke is here; Rep Steve King.

Oh I see, the neo-nons want a complete overhaul of congress since they are in the tiny minority, as in all incumbents out, yet it's ok to leave some of so-called non-problem kids. Yea, why disguise your, "unelect all dems" agenda with, "unelect all incumbents" when we know you and yours really mean just the dems? Did you guys really think you were fooling anyone with you, "all incumbents out" BS?

Officer actually convicted, but of the lesser crime

They received legal guidance from an elected and trained Judge. I can't speak for all jurisdictions, but Superior Ct judges here are appointed by the gov, then a panel confirms; I don't think it's the state senate but it could be. They are elected in ballots only for show, it takes a small % to confirm at eelction time, I don't think it's even 1/2. Fortunately juries are never wrong or influenced by status, celebrity, etc. Right and they will watch one of the 5 cellphone vids and draw a conclusion; how presumptious. Like this dirty pig that shot and killed a woman from behind, per the only 3 alive witnesses and all forensic ev, was tried for 2nd degree murder down to engangerment of the 1 YO child in tha back sedt....the acquitted: http://articles.sfgate.com/2009-02-15/news/17187934_1_police-officers-bart-police-dangerous-job I DID watch the trial, I DO know who this pig is and the valley was in an uproar over this for years. BTW, I did speak with the prosecutor at length about this too, years after the trial. Pigs like this make the few good cops outt here look bad and this pig even had the nerve to sue his fellow cops and the police chief that fell on teh sword for him to try to silence them: http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/docket/CivilCourtCases/caseInfo.asp?caseNumber=CV2004-092518 PLease save the sanctimonious rhetoric. Bad quartbacks get tossed for sucking too, if you don't want the responsibility and criticism, don't take the job. And still you'll sit there unhappy with the 95 OJ acquittal. Right, the people who get all the facts are the peanut gallery; when the jury is excused for args, they don;t see what the PG sees. I think the vid shows plenty. I suppose the Rodney King vid was overblown too, right? Which is why pig-loving jurisdictions are trying to make it a crime to videotape cops in action. -
I stand corrected. Then why not let us see what inanity you initially wrote?

Not to mention, primate to man isn't such a stretch consideing we have soooo many like phenotypical feature and with Chimps our genotype is similar too. More likely, IMO based upon what I've heard experts claim, we diverged from the same species that some primates have evolved from. Evolution is real and is still in play everyday, there are holes in the ape-to-man theories however.

Yea, let's say from a land creature to a sea creature. PSSSSST: Whales have leg bones.

Awwwwe, I agree, money over guys who are willing to die for the country. Listen real carefully: I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHAT IT COSTS, GIVE THE TROOPS WHAT THEY NEED, THERE OR HERE. Now, back to your normally scheduled tax complaining / corporation-loving.

Finally Palin has found her appropriate demographic
Lucky... replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
Only for the last couple years of his Presidency, that shouldn't have concerned too many people; right? To be fair, a lot of kings throughout history have had close advisors whispering in their ears and reminding them who's who and what's what. Some still do. I guess it was his last couple years, just as he was blathering about Gorbachev tearing down the wall, not really sure what he was saying himself. -

So if your opinion is that Obama is worse, that's a defense to Palin being an idiot. Fun to watch the so-called independent defend the Republican time and time again, then recoil to independent; don't blame ya, who could admit they were a Bush / Palin / McCain voter? For a while i thought someone had kidnapped our guy lucky, but I see you are still with us. -

Lucky... replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, yes, keep pretending the man isn't the best speaker that's sat in The Oval Office since Reagan. Reagan was only good when he had Nancy to whisper into his ear to keep him going. Nancy was kinda like a 2-legged audio teleprompter. -

For someone that's such a negligible threat, the Dems and their mouthpieces sure are spending a lot of time and energy continuing to try to discredit her. You've got to be joking. The fact that she is an 8-year graduate of one of the easiest 4-year degrees in the world, Journalism, and can't state 1 media publication or SCOTUS decision is proof that will never die. Of course the gullable RW still elected GWB after they knew he was a disaster, so we're not talking about a sharp ideological electorate here. Again, she has expllited the Repub electorate and still does. -

You are joking right? Why would anyone be scared by that nit wit? She is the best thing that ever happened to the to the democrats. Although I must give her some credit, she has managed to make a ton of money off of weak minded fools. You betcha! Right, RW is too dumb, they can't she has once again jumped ship to make a ton of $$$. This shows how really gullable the RWers are. She exploited the Alaska voters and the entire Republicn following and continues to. -

How about that other new book? The Wisdom of Joe Biden. Can't hardly wait until the November 9 release of the GWB memoir; "Decider Points." Cheney is supposedly working on a memoir as well, but there seems to be some issue with finding enough blood of virgins to use as ink. I don't get why some people think McCain, Palin or any of the rest of teh goons are scarry. They got their ass handed to them and yet the devote followers continue to claim supremacy. -

Yea, she scares me alright, she was part of the 2008 anchor to the bottom of getting their ass handed to them. Love to read your inanity, Rush. -

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100709/ap_on_re_us/us_train_station_shooting White cop kills subdued black perp as perp lays face down. Cop gets convicted of the lesser of 3 possible charges and city riots. Cop can get 2 - 4 years, possibly 10 since a gun was used. What do ya think, was it too lenient? I think so, involuntary manslaughter, I guess, only if you believe the cop didn't mean to pull his gun but rather his taser. I don't buy it. -

Six Months to Go Until The Largest Tax Hikes in History
Lucky... replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
Disclaimer - the daily numbers for the debt don't start until Clinton's term, so I had to use fiscals for Reagan and the start of GHW. Reagan - 1.69T increase GHW Bush - 1.57T increase Clinton - 1.55T increase Yeah, Lucky...Bubba Jeff was SUCH a difference compared to Ronnie. You do seem to have left out the financial wizard you worshiped with such steadfastness... you know...the one who doubled what was already there I've already posted his numbers....and his successor's - you know, The One that's already spent 52% of the 'financial wizard's' total in 18% of the time? Bush didn't hit Barry's comparative spending level until 3/20/2006. That's 5.16 years, compared to Barry's 1.45 years. Three and half times longer than Barry's run so far. Can't *WAIT* to see what he comes up with for numbers in the next 2.5 years, can you? If you disregard momentum and who inherited what / left what then it makes sense.
