Sometimes I think the whole 'digital revolution' came about to make it easier for Big Brother to keep tabs on us all. I may have to go old school just to feel like I have my privacy back. In principle, I agree. A .08 driver is borderline and will not be nearly as dangerous as a .15 driver or above. The problem is knowing how f'd up a driver is, and deterrence of drinking before driving which is achieved through strong enforcement. Personally, I NEVER have even one drink if I need to drive. Then again, I had to learn the hard way (many moons ago). I also think these nazi checkpoints need to be stopped. Although it is a fact that 'false flag' operations have been planned and executed by the US government in the past to provide a pretext for military action, I don't think there was active collusion in this case. Really? I have been working for the govt since 1991 and NO ONE has ever told me that!?!?!?!? (There's your sarcasm) I don't put class info on my computer. The problem is that most of the info I deal with that is of a sensitive nature never goes through any official channels. Therefor it never gets a "classification." However, I'm smart enough to realize how sensitive some of it is. I have to treat many of the reports I write as classed info even though it technically is not. I guess we'd call that 'SBU Data'..... You can also create a 'honey pot' of files, so if you are forced to open the hidden volume with your password, it will only reveal a few files that you don't care about. I love my Fobus paddle holster. It fits the gun perfectly, has good retention, is super light, fits close to the body, and conceals well. Did you serve in the military? I doubt if more than 5% of the guys in boot camp with me fully understood the contract. Hell, the company commander couldn't even read. He always had one of the recruits do the reading. Are you serious???? 100% - no lie. Shit. The "average man on the street" can't even tell you who the vice president is. Ever watch the Leno man on the street segment? It's freaking scary. Yea...that is entertainment. A TV show that goes out of the way to edit the footage so the typical man on the street looks like an idiot just so they can get a laugh. Well, I was a production intern on the show several years ago, and helped edit those segments, and I can tell you that there was no such co9ntent editing. We have 2 standards for adulthood in the USA - 18 and 21. 21 is the age at which you are afforded all the privleges of adulthood in the USA, and is the age of majority that should count. 18 year olds cannot drink. 18 year olds can be counted for tax deduction purposes by their parents if they are in college or high school. 18 year olds cannot gamble. 18 year olds are therefore not full adults. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Ideally, I agree with the notion to hold people to a contract like this. Realistically, however, the circumstances are so different than any before encountered, and the possible sacrifie so great, that to require this level of service borders on inhumane. Sending men back into a hostile, hopeless environment, time after time after time, is just not right. I wasn't comparing making a skydive to joining the military, I was comparing the ability to read and understand a skydiving waiver to the ability to read and understand an enlistment contract. . I would argue that most 18 year olds do not fully understand or appreciate the risks or inherent dangers of making a skydive even after reading and signing the waiver. In this case - I think I do. Why? Because in the history of the modern US military we have never required our veterans to make so many combat tours - not Korea, not WWII, not Vietnam. The situation we have now is unprecendented, and as such, a reconsideration of our enlistment terms may be necessary. I always thought that this kind of duty MIGHT be necessary, in the case of world war, but that is not what we have here. 18 year olds, for the most part, are immature children. They have no advanced education, little life experience, and are not afforded all of the legal rights of adulthood in the USA. (drinking, gambling, etc) I'm glad the genius users of dz.com all read and understood every aspect of every legal contract and enlistment document they signed at the age of 18, but the fact is, a large portion of those who sign do not. That is the Old Testament that Jesus came to revies. Jesus taught "turn the other cheek." True Christians would never have advocated invading Iraq or even Afghanistan. True Christians would seek a dialog with them, and offer to clothe and feed the poor of the middle East and Africa. Can I move to your fantasyland where 18 year old children read and understand the ramifications of legal contracts? And I am way past blaming my recruiter. I served honorably and have the papers to prove it. Amen. Imagine the shortfalls we would be experiencing now if we weren't calling back guys like this. How many good soldiers are leaving the military because of stories like this one? Then you can't blame them for you not READING the contract you signed. Go find your contract, it is in there and it is not anyone else fault but yours that you didn't read it. It is clearly on mine in simple english and in the same type and size as the rest of the document. I also paid attention when I was told about it more than once before I signed up.
