  1. Um, their switches do suck. And all the great customer service won't do crap when you are sitting there after the first load Saturday with a broken switch. I had one of their bite switches for about 20 jumps, until I started getting jolts of electricity in my mouth. Then it stopped. Cut the switch off and made my own with a micro switch and some heat shrink tubing, and that worked great! Until the original plug into the camera went out. So it turns out that neither end has any sort of quality. From the people I've talked to, it seems like Paragear selling crappy items for $40 or $50, just because they can. And the quality is always lower than a poorly made homemade one... Gravity Research Institute
  2. What's the best BASE rig for freeflying? And I'm not interested in your opinions of "legality"- I live in a place where it isn't an issue. Gravity Research Institute
  3. What are the options for finding a flash that is separate from the battery pack? I have been looking for a flash setup for lower light jumps, but don't want to have a large-mesh, vented canopy opening wearing a side PC9, top Rebel XT, and a flash/battery on top too. Gravity Research Institute
  4. Cool, thought about the filters, and thought about the flash. However, if I went the flash route, I would want one that was external opposite the side of my d-box, and fast enough to keep up with the 3fps of the Rebel XT. And for under $20... Haha, any ideas? Gravity Research Institute
  5. I've had excellent results with Sports mode and manual focus. Couldn't this be a problem with autofocusing? Gravity Research Institute
  6. What are the options for taking tandem pictures against highly reflective backgrounds? What settings would be best? The picture of the tandem pair turns out in balance, but the beautiful white mountains with bright light shining on them makes it look way too bright to sometimes see detail. Rebel XT, etc... Just looking for filters, settings, post-shot editing, etc... Gravity Research Institute
  7. And we still haven't touched on the option that with more and more dz's having wireless internet, you could also email/ftp some of the better shots to Walmart or Walgreen's. That way, instead of dropping a roll of film off, waiting for development, and then getting 24 pics, they literally can't beat the images. They'll be waiting for them by the time they walk into the photo lab. And there are so many more pics... Gravity Research Institute
