Almost everything can be conductive if you crank the voltage high enough. Even glass, rubber, DI water, plastics, and oil have a threshold where you can get them to conduct. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

Any way to do a reverse look-up on a cell phone number?

SimonBones replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
Maybe not a phone reverse look-up... but phones with GSM signals are constantly bouncing off cell towers even if you're not actively using it. It just has to be on. What this means is that based on the different cell towers a cell phone is signaling one can triangulate a general area of the location of the phone. There are some programs and websites that allow you to punch in a cell phone number and it brings up a map giving you a rough idea of exactly where that cell phone is located (if it is on). I think it says somewhere the accuracy is within 3 miles or so? Try it out on this site, it's actually pretty scary stuff: http://www.phonetrace.org/ 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook -
The movers are coming on the 21st of the month so I should be on the road headed to our new home in TX a few days later (early in the week of Thanksgiving). Any TX events going on for Thanksgiving? Her initial feedback to me about Waller was very positive

Hi Mel! Make sure you come to the Paraclete tunnel just 5 minutes down the road too. We're doing some fun flying on Friday night and we're having a tunnel camp on Saturday night. Most of the Jive Jam crew will be there. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

I've found the best technique for me (I'm also a light weight) was to go the hands up route. It's pretty important to try and stay out of the flying around in mostly a stand position. Having your legs up more in the traditional sit position gives you far more directional control. But I have met people that do the mostly stand thing. Another thing I did to overcome the same obstacle is when I'm at a tunnel I make sure to spend some time telling them to crank the speed waaaay up and then work on turning some points in a sit. It feels a lot more uncomfortable first flying at sit flying at speeds way above your neutral in there but you start getting the hang of it. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

Honestly a head up double hand grip can be one of the most tricky things to learn in all of freeflying. In a sit, you're using the drag of your upper body (arms) to primarily keep you in that head up orientation, just as one would spread their legs to stay head down. In a sit position having your legs a little bit out in front of you requires you to keep your arms a little bit back to balance drag between the forward half of your body and the aft half of your body. Both things said, it is pretty tricky to take both means of primary balance and put them in front of you to take grips! Take a look at the attached picture. The flyer on the left is rolling his feet back behind him in order to balance the forward/aft drag and be able to bring his arms more in front of him. Tricky tricky, I know. But it's one of your options. Or, take a look at flyer on the right (me). If you notice the top of my back/shoulders/head, you'll see that I'm arching just the upper part of my torso. This allows me to replace some of the aft drag that would have been from my arms with my shoulders, upper back, and the back of my head. When you go for your grip with your sit partner, take one hand first. Then pop your head and shoulders back, arch the upper part of your torso back and then take the second grip. It's easier to do in two stages. It should feel a little like you're pulling on your fly partner a little by leaning back a bit. You can try playing with both techniques. Whatever you do, keep trying. It's a very tricky thing for most people to learn. Once you're able to nail it, try launching it from the plane. That's right, launch a head up round from the plane. That's your next challenge -Simon 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

Hmm... give me a few weeks, I might be able to get this done for you. Winds have to be right at the DZ. It certainly sounds like a fun idea. I was going to try and see what the fall rate of a plump pineapple was next, but frozen turkey... why not? Some hunter is eventually going to be walking through the woods and find a clearing with a smashed pumpkin, and smashed turkey, a decorated christmas tree in splinters, and maybe a crater with an dead easter bunny in it. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook -
Maybe now we can focus on the issue If the GI Bill is designed to pay for achieving a certification that can be used for employment. How can the tunnel community work with the DVA to make their training program acceptable for GI bill funding for guys getting out of the military? Think about it, a guy wants to get his rating as a tunnel instructor, the DVA sends you a check for $10K and you train him for one month to make him a tunnel instructor. He's happy for the ability to find employment in a tunnel without signing a two year contract, you're happy for getting $10K up front. Who loses? $10K is only a fraction of the funds available to him as a veteran. He can be a part time tunnel instructor now while going to college full time. Win/win situation! He gets to work doing a job he loves while going to school. You get your money for training him and a part time instructor who's happy to be there by choice, not by obligation. I'm saying this is totally possible. This is a very realistic scenario. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

Any pictures of yourself while working ???

This one was taken of me while I was organizing a spaceball dive over Skydive Orange, VA. I was ball mastering for 3 other flyers and one of them (John Elmore) scored this shot of me. I really like it 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook -

I think EW brings up a good question. The GI Bill will pay for a certification that can be used for employment. It will pay for getting a commercial pilot's license, but not a private pilot's license. Because it costs thousands upon thousands of dollars to become certified as a tunnel instructor, there should be a way to have the GI Bill pay for that certification. This way if a veteran wanted to pursue a career as a tunnel instructor, he could use his GI Bill for it. If it's not currently possible, anyone owning a tunnel business or in the IBA should take a look at this. The GI Bill could potentially be giving you lots of money to train tunnel instructors. How would this not be a win-win situation? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

Hey, aside from a few small bruises everyone walked away just fine. Just goes to prove that reckless skydiving is completely consequence free And if you get it on video, YeeeeeeHaaaw!
