i always climbed trees and liked being up high as a kid. and i love riding rollercoasters and other thrill rides. and had always wanted to try skydiving. then at the clutch show, at the engine room (a houston concert venue) in nov. of 05' the freind i was there with asked what we were doing for my birthday. and i said i really want to go skydiving. he said he'd go and we toasted with a jager shot. told my family, and they were very nervous at first, but after i talked to them about all the safety procedures and that the instructors are with you the whole time they lightened up a bit. on dec 10th of 05' my two best friends and i went through the AFF course at Skydive Houston. however we didn't get to jump that day because it was too cloudy. so we told them we'd come back the next morning. we get there bright and early on the 11th. get set up with instructors and start getting ready. we went up about 11:30am on the 3rd. load. HANDS DOWN THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!!! AND I'M TOTALLY ADDICTED!!! my two friends haven't jumped again, but i'm on level 7 of AFF and have already bought a jumpsuit. and i just got a raise so an atli and helmet are next. then i'll be saving for a rig. blue skies!! diamonds are a dawgs best friend

there is zerogroom.com. it's supposed to be built near the space center area- south of downtown houston. thier site used to say coming spring of 06'. now it just says coming soon. being a delivery driver i occasionally pass by where it's to be built. as of last week the space it's supposed to go is still an empty field. i've got aways to go before i get my A, but hopefully they'll be open by the time i start learning to freefly. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

i've dreamt of being in freefall several times. not much going on just falling. recently i had a dream where i had a reserve ride due to a bad line over situation. i did pulled my handles correctly and landed safely. in addition to being concerned that i was alright, my instructor was very happy that i had kept my handles. dream ended with me giving the rigger $20 because it was a sunday and liqour stores weren't open yet. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

repeated my level 4 a couple of times due to stability issues. before i did the jump on which i completed the objectives, my instructor worked with me on my legs by holding my feet while dirt diving/ practicing my arch. he had me press my feet against his hands to simulate how they should feel pressing against the relative wind. this helped me alot. i hope my "freefall" rush never wears off- it's why i jump. but i can tell you that as you and your body get more accustomed to free fall, things will start clicking in your mind and body control becomes easier. best of luck!! blue skies!!! diamonds are a dawgs best friend

though i'm aways from getting my own gear, i've been doing lots reasearch and reading. and with all the info on the good and the bad of downsizing too soon. i got to thinking, why not do a performance upgrade instead? like say: going from a 7 to a 9 cell, or from a non (or mostly non) zero-p to a zero-p. or from a basic canopy to a more elliptical one. yet stay at the same size but get a faster/funner caonpy flight. as an example- going from synergy 170 to a fusion 170, then later going to a nitron 170. all thougths, input welcome. cheers. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
