  1. heehee And if it's someone else's dog that you're babysitting?
  2. Good point. What am I going to leave it behind for? It's pretty funny, actually, that this little detail is what I'm finding difficult to make a decision about, when I am virtually completely changing my life by making this move in the first place. Kind of like how I can hurl myself out of an airplane at 13k, but I am too shy to walk through a crowded bar alone unless I'm a little buzzed.
  3. Well, for some reason, these dogs just loved to sit and lick lick lick me--arms, hands, legs. Not to mention the dashing up to me, hurling themselves into my arms and trying to french kiss me. Lots of slobber involved in all cases. My kitties tongues are like sandpaper, and they don't try to lick me very often. I'm being deliberately literal with this response.
  4. And I very much appreciate everybody's input.
  5. While dogsitting for a friend. Dogs fart. Constantly. They love to lay near you and silently stink up the room. Dogs' tongues are smooth and they have a lot more slobber than cats do. The livingroom carpet is a much more delightful place to make doody than the back yard full of grass. No need to buy tasty treats for dogs. They prefer whatever disgusting crap they can find in your bathroom garbage can. It is preferable to barf up those disgusting items on the dryclean only bedspread rather than the hardwood floors. Dogs give a shit about whether or not you are pleased with them. This makes them much more easily manipulated than cats. No matter how annoying they can be, they are far better at watching tv with you than cats. And they'll let you watch whatever you want as long as you'll pet them.
  6. Ok, I'm back to confused. So with my modem, I have DSL? And do I take it with me or start from scratch at the new place? It's these little decisions that are going to be the death of me!!
  7. There you have it. The root of the problem, as I see it. I had no idea I was expecting something for free from any of the instructors. Let alone causing resentment because of it. Lesson I learned? I can't afford the tunnel right now. I'd rather not go than be perceived as trying to take advantage and get something for nothing. Sorry to any SVCO people that I may have offended at any point in regards to the issue of tipping. I am, and always have been, very impressed by the skill, demeanor, and professionalism of almost every employee there. I'll be happy to fly again when the finances are back under control.
  8. Aahh, see, I knew it was simple! Thanks for the clarification.
  9. Ok, time to reveal (yet again) my ignorance. This time on the subject of highspeed internet. I currently have a modem and earthlink as my isp. I am moving next week, and thought I knew what I was doing until seeing all of the options. So, can anyone help clarify this all for me? What's DSL? What's broadband? Is any of this the same as a modem? Is it easier (or even possible) to take my modem with me and just plug in it to the phone line at my new place, or do I have to go through Earthlink? When I signed up for phone and cable, both had options for highspeed internet as well. Is it a better deal to combine, and what does it entail as far as equipment/hookup? I'm sure these are all easy questions, but I have no idea as to the answers!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Not me. Tough girls don't cry like babies when life does a 180. I am. Sigh. Plowdirt, congratulations on your sobriety. Well done! Jim, I'm not going to barf on the cats. If I get sick, I know where the potty is. And if I do it in bed and asperate on it, well, at least I didn't get any on them! (Don't worry, I'm not the barfing kind...). Midori and 7-up, and Stoli Berry in juice. Yummmmmmy!!! Ciels- Michele Hope you're feeling well today Michele. And I know exactly how you're feeling, been there for a couple of weeks myself. Everyone keeps telling me how strong I am, and I pride myself on NEVER crying, and I've been a complete blubbering baby at the oddest, most random times. So don't be so hard on yourself. As Squeak once told me, it's good for the lacrymel ducts.
  11. Welcome back Andy. Now, you're too young and sweet to be becoming so bitter already!!!!
  12. My daughter My kitties My awesome friends both in and out of the sport of skydiving Spring has arrived It's light out later.
  13. Ok, this really is my last post in this thread. But I had a thought that might help you. The sign on the counter says, "Tips appreciated but not expected." Perhaps the instructors that disagree with that sentiment can remove the sign during their shifts. The others will appreciate any tip given but not expect it, so you'll know exactly which people to ask point blank about how much they are expecting to get tipped. It's just a thought. It could work.
  14. Julie, you are a very, very nice person. That's the last I'm going to comment in this thread. Because I promised I wouldn't bad mouth.

  19. How the hell did he make it past last week? I guess it doesn't matter in the end. He's not going to win it and neither were any of those voted off. Do you think Melinda's humbleness is for real?
