  1. When there are 25+ Arab countries and 50+ Muslim countries, you have a majority for anything... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. Again, you're confusing personal views and even protests with official curriculum and programming in the state owned media. the specific incidents you mentioned are mostly the result of local tensions in mixed areas within Israel and are local initiative. None of these make me proud but they are definitely not found in official school books or TV. Are you surprised that 2/3 of Israelis think that Arabs are violent? decades of violence will do that... Lack of trust is one of the main issues. unless you change the school books and official media, it will be impossible to build trust O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  3. You need to distinguish between the exception and the rule. The rule, for me is what exists in the official school books and on TV (especially government backed TV) some of the things you find in Palestinian (and other Arab) school books are chilling, bordering in outright antisemitism. Not to mention the glorification of suicide bombers and death. note, I'm not talking about presenting a different point of view and narrative. I'm talking about things like: "Treachery and disloyalty are character traits of the Jews and one should be aware of them". An Islamic high school text that warns students to be wary of Jews as they are "…deceitful and disloyal." Another textbook stated that European anti-Semitism was caused by Jewish greed and fanaticism." "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. Maybe in theory. Lebanon is a sovereign country, Israel was attacked repeatedly by Hezbollah from Lebanon (not to mention its also a part of the government) yet when Israel responded, it was condemned, as always... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  5. Bill, with all due respect, I grew up in the Israeli education system and I was never taught to hate the Palestinians. These kids where visiting the troops and I agree that letting them write stuff on shells is a stupid idea but you're taking this way out of context. what's next? you'll take a picture of a kid dressed as a soldier for Purim (Jewish version of Halloween) and claim he's being trained to kill Arabs? "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  6. I wasn't argueing that Israel didnt shoot first. I just said it had a good reason after it was clear that war was unavoidable as Egypt moved forces into the demilitarized zone and kicked out the un observers. Striking first was a tactical and not a strategic move like Egypt and Syria did in 1973 Btw by your criteria the Syrian citizens who crossed the border into Israel is also considered an act of war. Right? "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. The key word there is preemptive Israel launched a preemptive strike against Egypt after the Egyptians moved forces into the Sinai, kicked out the UN observers and blockaded Israel's access to the red sea, all of which are acts of war. Syria had a military pack with Egypt and joined the war and Jordan joined based on the Egyptian lies that Israel was about to be destroyed (Israel urged king Hussain to stay out of it) "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. Sure, if it's not Israel, it doesn't qualify as Human Right's Council material... That council is a joke. always has been and always will be (not to mention that Libya was a member (and even president?) until recently... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  9. Maybe the Arab league should worry first about the hundreds of dead Syrian protesters or the Syrian soldiers who were executed for refusing to fire on their own civilians... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  10. rewriting history? I assume you're talking about the nuclear reactor. so: 1) It wss in IRAQ, not Iran. 2) It was a military target, not a civilian target and to remind you, the 2 countries were in a state of war. 3) That strike is the reason why the "coalition" didn't face a nuclear Iraq in the first Gulf war, when Hussein invaded Kuwait. Israel took a lot of heat for that back then, only to be thanked for it years later. I don't understand why people think Israel should "stop" Iran on its own. It's not just Israel's problem and I'm not sure Israel even CAN do it on its own, "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  11. err, maybe because countries like Iran keep saying it should be wiped off the map? And as for your previous post, Iran will not nuke Israel. Iran's tactics it to use proxy wars through Hamas and Hezbollah and not face Israel directly. IF I had to guess, a nuke (or at least a dirty bomb) will end up going off somewhere in the western world by a nameless or locationless terrorist organization so there is no clear "return address" "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  12. I have no idea. Don't really understand the motives of these idiots... All I know is that if rockets keep flying out of Gaza again (and so far they are), Israel will be dragged into this mess again. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  13. I don't know, but you can add 5 more rockets since this morning. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  14. And two Grad missiles (big rockets) on Be'er Sheva, over 50 mortar shells last week on one day and a couple every day. I don't like where this is going... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  15. At first, I thought it was a joke... Link Doesn't look like "Zion" to me but then again, it doesn't look like "2012" to me either... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  16. All I can say is if that's only 60%, a 100% would have given me a heart attack... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

    Israel

Yes, I am sure. They see Israel as an abomination (not being a Theocracy) and refuse to recognize. They also publicly support Israel's worse enemies and have met with hot shots such as Hamas leadership and even the Iranian president nut job. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

Maybe I was refering to the "Neturei Karta" people, and for them my statement stands. I should have been clearer about that. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

I honestly have no idea who you're talking about (I'm not following every thread here) but, if you are talking about one individual, and let's assume this individual is "the most prideful, self righteous, conceited etc." is it because this person is Jewish or is it just because this person is a horrible person? I still don't see why you took your experiences with one individual and concluded there is a problem with an entire nation/religion/race or however you want to define "Jews". "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

I'm not sure I follow. Jews come in all shapes, forms and points of views. I'm not sure what you mean by "pride". Without knowing you and without making any accusations... Are you sure you don't "see" what you want to see? I can tell you that I have almost nothing in common with the people in that video. but, what you see there is xenophobia and nothing else. anyway, this is going off topic. I wonder why the aid to Israel, which has been a close ally of the US for decades, keeps popping up but the almost identical aid that, for example, Egypt, is getting is never mentioned... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  22. AlQ's existance is factual. God is a concept invented by people in order to explain the things they do not understand. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

    Israel

Just so you know, the people in these videos are the ultra ultra orthodox jews and they hate everybody who is not as orthodox as they are. they hate me (secular Jew) and even other religious Jews way more than they hate anyone else and in my eyes they are no better than any other religious fanatics. These people don't recognize Israel even and often you can see them cooperate with Israel's worst enemies (Iran, Hamas, etc.) I invite you to go to Israel and see for yourself that its nothing like you see in that twisted video "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. This is stupid. Beside the freedom of speech issue, I'm not sure who/what they're trying to protect. I am Jewish and I don't see why should I get offended if someone says "Merry Xmas" to me. This is stupid. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  25. If they do offer the Jewish kid fish, the non-Jewish kid who prefers fish should get it to. Do you know a lot of women who DO want to be touched by a strange man? I'm all for better understanding and consideration but if you offer a different "service", to some, it should be available to all. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
