    pretty happy with the blackbox radios. $200 each but 16 channels. we had them programmed so 1-2-3 on same freq. 4-5-6 on same freq, etc, that gave us 5 different frequencies to use at any time. Batteries did not last as long as I expected, they are pricey but we ended up replaced most of them 12-18 months into use of them. good quality audio and UHF
  2. right, so you are saying that SWAT teams are cheap then? That is what I read into it the first time you said it.... makes no difference to the point of the argument...has little to do with the militarization of the police forces unnecessarily, or the subsequent abuses that they dish out, or the cost of operating them at taxpayer expense, or the excessive overuse of them, which you have incorrectly indicated is not worse than in 1965.

If they cost as little as you say, then why did it take me 5 seconds to find dozens of articles about the cost of swat teams? Swat teams today are far different from 1965. mostly due to the sheer number of them.
  6. we do in fact know that he was unarmed. we know that and that has not ever been disputed. If there was a knife, a gun, a baseball bat or even a fucking soda can to threaten the cop with, we would have heard about. So no, we do not have EVERY SINGLE FACT surrounding this case, but what we do know for a fact is that a cop shot a unarmed citizen in the face. We do actually know THOSE FACTS.
  7. Yes they do, and they should also have the responsibility of paying for their mistakes when they take the life of someone who actually was NOT an immediate danger to their lives. It's 'stand your ground' to the nth degree. I am not interested in people 'feeling imminent threat' and then being able to take someone's life because 'they felt it'. I am interested in real threats being addressed, not what you 'feel'.... why? Because you do not have, nor should you ever be granted god-like powers to make such life and death decisions based on your 'feelings'.

  9. not sure that the value of real PLF practice is worth doing. I have seen several injuries during practice over my 33 years. Plus a PLF makes sense with a round parachute, whereas the forward movement of a square generally makes it quite a different fall that is difficult to simulate from a chair or picnic table. However I do see the value of teaching it to some degree, even making people do 'just one' of them to make sure they are not 100% uncoordinated goofs and can grab the concept of 'land tuck and roll', and/or 'if you are going to fall down then fall down and do it right'.
  10. $65/jump includes packing to rent a tandem rig. Still require them to have all their ratings and medical stuff on file and I generally have to know who this person s and why they are doing it. etc. i.e. pretty much inner circle and local friends only allowed to do such things.

And she has a doctorate....like.... even from a real school and everything...... having said that, twice as many people watch hannity over Maddow, but probably because shes talk that intelligent-speak, whereas Hannity speaks that....I'm not really sure....oh yeah, that Fox-speak.....

  20. why is it up to the govt to resolve discrepancies that they claim may exist? People sign up to find health insurance policies. Policies that exist in a PRIVATE market. Does the private insurance industry care about there things? Are they resolving them? Do they need to? Do they care? I expect as long as they are getting their premiums paid and their profits maintained, then who gives a shit. I expect the private market outside the ACA probably has similar numbers, but I doubt anyone has bothered to look.

Except that there is no evidence that the govt is bullying or out of control (not in the realm of healthcare) and there is also no evidence that the President has ever, or intends to write his own laws. Nice right wing rant, and due to the real disconnect with reality, demonstrates clearly a large part of what is wrong with this country - a disconnect from reality followed by a flawed belief structure. Both a sure way to never solve problems that we have, just blame others. Having said all that, the ruling was and is quote narrow, only applies to closely held corporations, only applies to specific birth control and does not apply to JW's stopping blood transfusions etc. But when the JW's or anyone else now goes to the SCOTUS with 'their' beliefs and religious demands, a precedent has been set that their albeit narrow claims might be honored by said SCOTUS. That is disturbing, and can definitely turn into a slippery slope. If your religious beliefs tell you that slavery or sodomizing children is OK, and that God tells you this, and you hold these beliefs all your life, and they are closely held beliefs, then you are entitled to have those beliefs since this is a free country. When you come to us to write public policy that encompasses those beliefs, we will most likely tell you to fuck off and go away.
