  1. that wasn't news, that was an interview with a conservative writer and commentator. He never said, and I never said Trump said neo-nazis were 'very fine people'. I said it took him days to denounce them. The Neo Nazis, the KKK, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers still support Trump. Trump might not be a white supremacist neo-nazi rascist, but all the white supremacist neo-nazi rascists sure think he is. So does YOUR interpretation of what is and isn't news always drive YOUR narrative, because Trump actually DID take 3 or 4 days to denounce the neo-nazis. That's not 'news' nor 'speculation' that is indeed a fact. https://www.cnn.com/2017/08/14/politics/trump-condemns-charlottesville-attackers/index.html - This was days after the attacks in Charlottesville, which was Aug-11 or 12 something like that
  2. there will not be a peep about guns or gun control. Avoid, deflect, don't talk about it, move on, nothing to see here.
  3. well fwiw, I never said Trump said neo-nazis were 'very fine people'. I said it took him days to denounce them. The Neo Nazis, the KKK, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers still support Trump. Trump might not be a white supremacist neo-nazi rascist, but all the white supremacist neo-nazi rascists sure think he is.
  4. I always go back to an interview with Charlie Sykes, a conservative journalism, writer and podcaster, after Charlottesville. He sums it up perfectly... not just this event but a statement on the entirety of Trumps presidency: From 2017 - https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/21/magazine/charlie-sykes-is-unsure-about-the-future-of-the-gop.html "I’m assuming you’re not surprised by Trump’s inability to condemn the white-supremacist march. I’m shocked but not surprised. Denouncing Nazis is the easiest thing in the world: All it requires is a modicum of historical perspective and a working moral compass. Instead, we got this Dumpster fire."
  5. I disagree with that. If he gets the majority of house and senate (unlikely), he will never leave office, ever, not under any circumstances and the GOP will let that happen. Even if he loses, they already have plans in place to disrupt the election again, possibly sending it to the states for adjudication. All the checks and balances will be re-appointed with Trump loyalists who are also equally a threat to America, democracy and the world. Threats are already regularly pursued by law enforcement, but apparently the Supreme Court is on Trumps side and shoots all those efforts to hell. yet another example of the end of America.
  6. yeah definitely a 'I'm a hero look at me' moment but also confirms his disconnect from reality.
  7. it's no different than when Obama got elected. I would bet there were hundreds of people across the country, sitting in their living rooms, polishing their rifles and mumbling 'I'm gonna be the one...' two dozen of them here alone - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_incidents_involving_Barack_Obama
  8. yes, especially when they drive their cars through crowds of people and murder them.
  9. that is actually a good point. notice the lack of actual violence and violent threats/assassination attempts against Joe Biden.... why? Because he's actually a decent guy doing a decent job, you can all drum up rhetoric, but there is no reason to consider an assassination. Even with the price of gas the way it is... and my god! groceries too! But at least some patriotic American saw and acted on Trump as the threat to democracy, America, and the world that he actually is. Looks like the guy was a republican. Sending tots and pears.
  10. when we went from horses and wagons to cars, the same arguments were made. No one was ever forced to own a car, you could and still can go by horse and buggy. Why do you use cars when you could use Horses and buggies? Show us any legislation that says you will be forced to own an EV car. Do those bills also include the destruction of all gasoline and diesel powered automobiles? and the elimination of all parts availability for them? tired of the boogeyman scenarios, especially when we are talking about a consumer product.
  11. and 1/3 of the country are independents and centrists that do not care enough to be bothered to vote, in this election, for all the reasons you stated.
  12. we all saw it years ago and we all said it years ago. Now it is here. it's a fucking disaster and despite the project 2025 and women's rights going away, Trump may very well win, I predict the lowest presidential vote turnout in history. The only hope is that less disenfranchised trump voters show up than disenfranchised Biden voters..... because NO ONE is actually enthused about either of these candidates. and we have left the concept of a representative government, whether you call it a republic or a democracy. hope is lousy management strategy. Fuck I would even support Kamala at this point if Biden would just fuck off already, and we have left the concept of a representative government, whether you call it a republic or a democracy.
  13. bullshit. and there is nothing you have to show that is true or even partially true. 'the family' exists for the survival of the species and that is pretty much it. The family has the same problems that the non-family has. The family, husband and wife, chest on each other and always have. just one example. we are herd animals on this planet only slightly different than other species that have survival instincts built it. There is no justification for 'the family unit' as being a basis for anything. Early families were far different even a few hundred years ago, and/or currently in remote parts of the world where other civilizations exist just fine without ANYTHING to do with the 'family unit' that you envision. How about the government gets out of the family, marriage, gender, sex business? Especially a government that believes in individual rights.... supposedly.
  14. Good to know that I am not the only one in the world that sees the damage that Newt Gingrich did, and I wasn't even remotely close to being in the USA at that time - still in Canada. Newt was the first to normalize lying and talk about 'what people believe' instead of the truth..... untold damage started right there.
  15. disagree. It is never 'too late' to save the democracy or fight to preserve it. That means we are simply trying to hang onto power instead of doing what is right. I believe that ANY decent Democratic candidate could beat Trump with or without money. Biden staying in just demonstrates that even the Democrats are mired in their own political power structure and do not give a fuck about the country. The sad part right now is the discussion is 100% about how unfit Biden is for office and not even 1% about how unfit Trump is for office. Representative Democracy is dead and has been systematically dismantled for decades, by one party TRYING to do it and the rest of america doing NOTHING or standing by saying we are 'overreacting'. The good news? The civil war with kill them all and install a parliamentary based socialist government that takes care of the people. Even the right wing will lose everything that they claim to be fighting for, because it is only about power and control for a few. Happy fourth of July folks - no idea what we are celebrating today. This place is fucked.
  16. largely overstated until it actually happens. Are there not enough examples from Trumps time in office and enough words coming out of his mouth, not enough information from the Republican party (Project2025) to see that THEY DO IN FACT intend to do these things? When Trump says he wants to be a dictator, there is no reason to not believe him and if you read Project 2025, they intend to make that happen. Bring on the civil war. This is in fact the time to panic - the normal means of each branch of government checking the others is failing badly and people who say 'you are overstating' are just going to stand there and watch it happen
  17. Statewide Temperature Extremes – Chris Martz (chrismartzweather.com) - Chris Martz makes no claim to have any knowledge, background or expertise in climate science. One would think if you are going to host a web page to deny climate change, you would post your own relevant credentials, if you had any. He has as much knowledge about climate science as Tucker Carlson and Hannity have about journalism.....
  18. Your video narrator acknowledged that warmer sea temperatures are fuel for hurricanes and that the oceans are warmer than ever. and connected that to the current hurricane. He tried to make like of a current spike in ocean temperature. You know, cherry picking like you do in an attempt to discredit all climate science with an opinion based on a tidbit. If that is a denial video, he is doing a pretty shitty job of it.
  19. step down, release your delegates and campaign funds and enjoy your retirement as a good president, or risk becoming the president that helped to end the republic.
  20. https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/share/ You can email as well, I did
  21. Biden could order the DOJ to issue a statement disqualifying Trump from office, referencing Jan 6 alone and the fake electors scheme, ignore the curren indictments and simply act as the 'president'. Then order the Federal Elections Commission to disqualify him, stating it as an official act to protect the country. and then have the DOJ start new investigations into his ties with foreign countries his corruption and so on. But of course, they have no balls and will not do this. But this is exactly what and how Trump would do it
  22. cherry picking again. weather events in Florida are on the rise.... but of course, you found a tidbit about flooding so 'therefore anything and everything claimed about climate change must be false' https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/billions/state-summary/FL
  23. Nothing in the rules says she automatically gets the ticket
  24. he leaves now and goes down in history as a great president. Any number of other candidates are capable of beating Trump. Or he stays in the race and likely comes out as a failed dementia ex-president who could not keep up (or he loses to Trump and all we talk about for the next 50 years is 'that time we coulda got him out')
  25. I'm hoping that the GOP will not survive this election. They were the ones who picked that lame ass person by not allowing for a proper primary.
