I was there when this happened. It scared the hell out of me. The (?)student(?) was within 6 feet of a cliff strike. I thought that I was about to witness my first BASE fatality. Where he landed was simple luck. Even after he missed the rock faces by only a few feet, I figured he was going to rag doll down the very steep terrain. I have photos of the jump. I respect the many accomplishments of the instructor and after knowing him for a total of 15 minutes, well, you gotta like the guy. However, I hope to never see this happen again. I just completed Jimmy and Martas Apex BASE FJC course last week. The course was extremely educational and covered much more than I had expected. I have been doing research for several years on BASE jumping but I learned more during this course than I did from years of research. All of the questions that I have been saving up were quickly answered. The best part about the course was that it was great fun! Jimmy and Marta are a very friendly, high energy couple and they are always fun to be around. I feel very privileged to have taken their course. I highly recommend the course to anyone considering an FJC, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Jimmy and Marta!!! Also, special thanks to Adam Foster who additionally assisted me with packing and jumping technique. You are the greatest, Bro! I truly appreciate it. What I did not expect during my trip was the warm welcome I received from all of the TF locals. They invited me to their homes and gatherings as if I were family. We had some great times, the dinners were absolutely awesome and I learned a lot from them also. Thank You!!!! That was the best vacation I have ever had. It was great to meet you all and I hope to see you again soon. If you are ever out Colorado way, let me know. My home is your home. I have had a Canon 20D since Oct. It is awesome! If you get one, you won't regret it. I think the replacement he's talking about is the 5D. It's been out since Nov. but it's about $3,500.00. Have Fun! Baz

Our Best Wishes are with Calvin19. AF and I are organizing a Get Well signed display for him. We would like all of his friends to sign it. I had the guy change the order to the Energizer 2500mha batteries. Thanks for the reference on the Maha charger. You can charge 8 batteries at one time and Thomas Dist. is about $30 cheaper than the other vendors. That should be a great setup. Thanks! Baz

Thank you both for your replies. That is exactly what I needed to know. I didn't see the Energizers listed on Ebay so I got the Duracell (2300mah) I hope they are comparable. I got 32 AA's and two chargers for $50 (plus shipping) By God, that should cure the dead battery blues. Thanks a million! Baz
