Anyone know if there is a database similar to the FCC tower database (but for Canada)? Nathan

I'm wondering what everyone on here uses, and how they like it. I've searched the forum, and checked out a few different brands, but I figured i'd ask you guys. Could anyone post exactly what you have, and how you like it for comfortability AND protection (getting to sketchy exits/climbing/hiking/wearing for long periods of time/wearing in the summer/etc). So far i've heard the Dainese and the High Velocity are pretty good. Think I could get some pros/cons of each from the people that own them? Also, Tom, I saw that you really preferred the Dainese jacket. Which one did you get? Thanks Nathan Nathan

Yeah.. and if money is really tight you could always go static line... it's a lot cheaper! Nathan

hey blackfox.. i somewhat see what you're saying. I am a college student also (freshman). There aren’t very many things at all I could see myself doing for the next 20 years. Actually.. I can’t think of any. I'm studying computer science right now, but as I said, I cannot think of a job I could do for the rest of my life. As much as I would love to drop out and skydive/BASE all the time(trust me, this would be NICE), I have had a minimum wage paying job, and it sucks. I realize that I cannot support myself and do the traveling/jumping I want off of $5/hr. That's why I'm still here, and why I’ll stay. College graduates usually make much more than a person without a degree (not in all situations, but probably most). I’m not going to say: “Stay in school .. blah blah blah.” There have been a lot of points brought up in this thread. Many say: “Stay in school, It will benefit you in the long run.” I agree with this statement, but I also somewhat agree with karenmeal saying: “if you don’t know what you want to do, take some time to figure it out.” I guess what I’m saying is you need to make the choice that will best benefit you. My personal choice is to stay in college and graduate with a degree, that way I am in a much better position to do what I want. No matter what though, I think in most cases it would benefit you more with a college degree. Nathan

I just started skydiving ... and i want to develop my skills to help me for when I start BASE. I realize there are a lot of necessary pre-requisites before starting BASE (mainly skydiving experience), and i'm not trying to rush anything, i'm just trying to "well-prepare" myself. I'm looking into buying my first skydiving rig, and I was told by a local BASE jumper to get a lot of practice on large, 7 cell canopies if I want to get into BASE. I am 5'7", and weigh 145 lbs. I'm wondering what size main would best help me to learn skydiving, and help develop skills necessary for BASE. I’m also wondering if I should start out with this canopy and what not. Thanks in advance. Nathan
