  1. Never thought of it as a rule. I wanted something nice for my wife (fiance at the time) but I was a student so funds were limitted. I think so long as there is reasonable thought put into picking one and you show that you want to buy here as nice a ring as you can afford that is fine. 2. My only concern with the death penalty is the possibility of getting the wrong guy. If we could know for sure then I would have no problem with it and I wouldn't bend over backwards to make it comforting for him either. As for life in prison that is fine but life in prison should actually mean that you grow old and die in prison without having ever stepped outside again. He should be put in isolation in a suicide proof room, no window, no TV, no books or reading material, no-one to talk to, no visits...nothing. We should give him shelter and basic nutrition and that is it My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

  4. Seems pretty cut and dry. The old guy did everything possible to avoid a confronation. The theif was begging for a darwin My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  5. John, I think it's more an issue of recognizing that the problem will not go away on it's own even if it is not a problem of our own making. Mexico is a third world nation living next to an incredibly rich nation so the flow if humans will always exist. Immense efforts can reduce this somewhat but it will always be there. The industry being moved there is not helping mexicans much because it went there so it could pay 3rd world rates. Pumping money into mexico might (I say might) work if the US government takes the lead and works with the current administration to try to develope mexicos economy beyond being merely cheap labour. If mexicans can live at even a low middle class standard of living, the incentive to go to the US will drop. Given the amount of moneyt being pumped into all the other crap-holes around the world think of the possibilities if all of it got funnelled into mexico instead. It is possible that with real help provided to them the government there might actually try to improve things. The current administration there may have upset the US but it is much better than earlier ones so it is at least worth considering. I agree that you have the right to defend your borders and your ideas are valid but they are only short term solutions. 7. Good short term solution but so long as an incredibly rich nation borders with a 3rd world nation the problem will persist, and the illegals and thier employers will find a way. Why not look into trying to help develop Mexicos infrastructure (as has already been mentioned on this board)? The amount of money being sent across the ocean in foreign aid could do a lot of good in Mexico if we funnelled the majority of it in there contingent on the authorities spending it on the right things, and weeding out corruption (or trying to). Sooner or later we north americans are going to have to deal with the fact that we share our continent with a 3rd world country. With the emergence of other economic superpowers it might actually be in our interest to develop a stronger relationship with mexico before china or someone else does. 8. Aaaaauuuuggghhhhh!!!!!!!! That permanently fucking traumatized me. You are an evil human being My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

  10. But they may not give him a choice. If he gained this money by violating his probation they may be able to deny him the money I suspect. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  11. Pretty much I felt that RJJ was incredibly gifted and this caused him to not focus in proper technique as much. He was just naturall faster than most of his opponents. The problem which I predicted (and which came true) was that when his gifts stared to wear off, he would have no real technique since he did everything wrong (and got away with it) and that his fall from grace would be more rapid than with other fighters. He had also never faced real adversity so when he couldn't rely on natural gifts, and his lack of technique left him on the ropes he would not have the heart to perservere. 12. I should try some time, but the big problem is time. I haven't even had time to jump since several years back (I will get back in). I did get down to San Antonio Texas to see Chavez vs Whittaker back in the early 90's. 13. Pretty much. I guess all the Latino's who name their sons Jesus must be whipped lest I get confused or hurt by the blasphemy. Glad I live in this part of the world. 14. Sadly you are right. I don't like Mayweather and would love to see him humbled but Hatton is not going to do it. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

  16. Yeah, but what is happening here is a database of anyone who's ever been arrested. Big diff. Agreed. I would not have a problem with them taking the DNA of a person who is arrested (much like they do with fingerprints) just to run a check, so long as they were required to destroy the sample after the matter was cleared up. For those who are tried and convicted however it should go on a database. 18. Keeping a database for those who already have criminal records would not be unreasonable My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  19. When I tried boxing, I adopted that tactic on many occasions. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  20. Pretty much the same page. I have carried a weapon before when I had to take transit through a bad neighborhood at night. The problem up in Canada is that our laws are ridiculously stacked against the average joe who is just trying to protect himself. If I use a weapon even in self defence I will be up shits creek just for having it on me in the first place. This means that when you walk out the door here if you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time then if you survive then there is a better than average chance that you will have a criminal record and all the carreer implications that go with that. Our laws need changing bad. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  21. Precisely. I will do everything to walk away. A guy can threaten me, call me a "punk ass bitch" and I will still try to retreat. But if he will not let me then I will survive at all costs. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  22. I would still try to use hands if I could. If threatened I will simply act passive so the guy feels in complete control and has his guard down. Then he gets a cheap shot and I run as fast as I can, but first I wil make sure to hit him while he is down as much as neccessary to ensure that he stays down long enough for me to get at least a ten block lead. May sound mean but when my own safety is at stake brutality/cowardice works fine by me. I would never engage in mutual combat. I will never accept a challenge to step outside. If I am frightened though and violence is imminent then I will be dirty, and whatever happens to him happens. 23. Do we have any real power to do so? My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  24. Self defence or defence of others. Hitting first is OK if you are absolutely certain the person is not going to let you walk away. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  25. Even if one were to put aside the moral wrongness of doing this (and it is disgusting), it is still stupid. It's not as though this war and administration have popularity points they can spare. This is not going to entice people to want to serve or continue supporting the government.
