What was your best vacation ever? (Yeah, I'm sure some of you have read my other vacation threads. I'm still trying to get ideas for the perfect getaway.) Vegas and the Grand Canyon? Caribbean? I'm not limited to taking a cruise, although they do seem to offer the cheapest way to travel. I'm looking into flying directly to a beautiful island (Virgin Islands....St. Thomas/St. John.) Does anybody know of somewhere good online that offers great vacation package deals? Flying there doesn't seem to be the problem....the accomodations are really expensive, and I'm just wondering how to cut those costs down while going on a very peaceful and romantic vacation.

Well put! There really are valid reasons that whuffos want their partners to quit skydiving (financial, safety, etc.) And I think that's what the poll is missing: if it's an ultimatum to do something actual (as in, if a married couple is about to declare bankruptcy), of if it's an ultimatum for selfish reasons (ie, whuffo tells partner they're not spending enough money on them.) I've been on Princess and Carnival. I've been to Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Venezuela, Aruba, and some other Caribbean islands. I would love to go back to the Virgin Islands (I went to St. Thomas) because the beaches were absolutely gorgeous. However, I would also like to see something new (maybe an Alaskan cruise!) It depends. One skydiver's wife overheard many instructors telling this guy to take up bowling. He was very unaware in the sky, and he was dangerous. She understood that this sport probably just wasn't for him. She was on the instructors' side. If I were him, I would've picked the relationship. Yes. I get tired of people trying to outdo one another. I get tired of the phoniness at dzs. I get tired of never jumping with good friends. Skydiving is like anything else in life for me....it's always more fun when I can laugh and have a good time with it with good people. Even if people aren't on a team, some people are still so competetive....like I really care if you're better than me at A, B and C. The only real reason I'm excited about skydiving anymore is that I can't wait to go visit my friends at their little dz. That's the only real time I love skydiving. For me, it's about the people. I haven't found people I love to skydive with except at Goshen. It's not that I think people elsewhere suck, it's just that I don't click as well with anyone else. But, I really am sick of everyone trying to outdo everyone else. Really...you being able to do a 10-pt 4-way, flip on your head, make dinner all at the same time doesn't do much for me. That's fine. There are many tourists that come to Chicago each year. Many of them purchase jumps that they can't use because they don't live here. She is not special. Doug made a post telling her the situation would be resolved when he heard about it. Should he have thrown her a parade? Yes, I'm a little defensive because I love the dz. No, it's just that everyone has a "special" circumstance. If the staff gave the phone to Doug and TD everytime someone had a "special" circumstance, they'd never be able to skydive! Instead, they respond with, "I'm sorry. There are no refunds." When someone buys something under certain conditions, it's not the business owner's responsibility to go beyond those conditions. Phreezone got too scared of my obsession with Homer Simpson, so he pawned me off on Wildblue (who has an obsession with Jessica Rabbit...so this works out well.) Many consider me to be a strong, independent woman who stands up for what she believes in. Many people also consider me to be a bit too stubborn. Many others consider me to be a feminazi who is a manhater. This has all be tested yesterday. I am always incredibly grossed out by women who do things that they don't really want to do for males. Yesterday, I did just that, and now I'm questioning myself. I really wanted to leave my brother's house and go home. I tried. I told my nephew, "Bye bye," and he looked at me and whimpered, "No bye bye! V play trains!" He took my hand, made me sit down, and he made me play trains. I tried to leave a few more times, but the same thing kept happening. One time, I got really close to leaving...so close that I even went to go get my keys! He started crying, so of course I had to put my keys down and console him. My brother said that I was being bossed around by a 3 year old. Does this make me a wussy girl and a pushover?
