I was wanting to know more of the legal rights. I already have my opinions on what dzs should do "morally." There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -

I HATE MY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to really enjoy my job. I really liked my boss and coworkers. I had interesting work to do. I was learning a lot. I love working in Chicago. That all changed. I've been through so many bosses that I'm repeating. I told them I'm leaving, so they give me all of the absolute crappy work to do. Basically, my job is like a bad relationship where they don't want to break up with me, but they're going to act so jerky in the hopes that I break up with them. I really really hate my job. Keeping hush hush on incidents/crashes

You just contradicted yourself, and many people have proven that we do have a right to information about accidents with substantial damage. No, jumpers don't have a "right" to know what kind of ammonia the pilot used to wash the windows of the aircraft. (That's how your analogies would relate to this discussion.) Yup. I'll never understand dropzones that want to keep everything "on the dz." That's just stupid. It shows the character of the dz is fearful and secretive. It shows that they don't have a desire to learn and grow if their biggest concern is looking good to the outside dropzones. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -
Keeping hush hush on incidents/crashes
Vallerina replied to Vallerina's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, frequently. I posted about a death of a jumper at my home dz. I would have to say there wasn't a flamefest. There were questions, but there will always be questions. Hopefully, someone learned from it. I wouldn't call questioning things a flamefest. Plus, who cares if it's a flamefest??? I don't understand why the big scary posters of dropzone.com are a good enough reason for others not to have information. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -

I'll agree with that. I tend not to announce to my bosses my new high score in Fowl Words, afterall. However, if there was something that affected them (a virus on my computer that deleted the rate level indication), then that is something I would announce. Should some things be announced? And since certain things have to be reported, then the public has the right to know about them. I'm just not sure what those rights are. Is there a dollar amount that has to be reported? Are crashes that only involve injuries reported? What's reported? What isn't? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -
Keeping hush hush on incidents/crashes
Vallerina replied to Vallerina's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It's just a question. But, most of us know jumpers that tried to hide incidents and whatnot especially if their insurance didn't cover skydiving injuries. To think that there wouldn't be a single dropzone out there that would try to hide an incident is silly. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -
