Don't have a clue what to advise you on the dental portion of this, but as for the financial portion - do you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefit at work? I had to have a crown put in a couple years ago and my dental insurance only covered half, so I financed the rest through an FSA, which at least meant I was paying for it with pre-tax $$. Too late to put in more money for this year, but it might help take the sting out a bit for next year's payments. Ya we've got an FSA program. I should have did it this year dang it!! We can change our insurance stuff and deductions once a year in December. Thanks I will make a note to do that next year! Awesome suggestion! I'm in some real pain! My two front teeth were both broken when I was a pre-teen (11) during a hockey game. Got high sticked in the face while skating as fast as I could towards the opposing goal.. Was an awesome break away for an 11yo if I say so myself. Would have been my second hat trick of the day.. But I digress.. I have to now have them both removed with the 2 teeth next to them. So it's my 4 front teeth I have to have pulled. Now that's not the really bad part. I'm going to have to go thru maybe 2 bone graphs to my upper jaw boneline where those teeth used to be. Since the breakage and root canals my body has seen fit to absorb the dead tissue and cause a recuring infection in the area which until lately I've been able to control with antibiotics. Since my dental insurance is a set amount per year and my out of pocket is set. This is going to probably hurt my wallet more then my mouth. Plus it will be a multi-year project to completion. The first year I'll have a temporary bridge thats removable. If the first grapht is enough I can move on to inserts or a permanent bridge sometime next year. If I need another grapht it's going to be another year before I get my perm fix... I really want my teeth to be nice an purdy again. I've lived with these dead uglies all my life. Heck I wouldn't know how to smile showing my teeth without covering my mouth. What do you guys suggest? I know I'm going to do the first surgery this year.. That's a given. Just when should I start the process? once started I can't look back, I'll have to follow thru or I'll be a toofless redneck the rest of my life. Second poll question is... Inplants? Pretty perm teeth.. they implant anchors in my bone line and attach teeth. MUCHO EXPENSIVE!! Perm Bridge? You all know what a bridge is I'm sure. Close to my price range, but not as permanent as implants. Kinda a serious question for me.. So please take it semi-serious.. Not that I'm going to do what you freaks say anyways.
