  1. Doreen at the school taught me to pack using a hook, and I continue to do so. I have 45 jumps with good landing, so I may try a 210 the next time out. The problem I have with the 230 is that it takes me forever to repack. My name is Noel. What's your name itdiver?
  2. Itdiver, The dropzone I go to is Perris, CA. I don't remember the brand, but it's a 7 cell 230 square foot main. Ironmanjay and Karl - I appreciate the links, and thank you for your help. These will do just fine!
  3. I'm a newbie to the sport, and I rent my gear. Since I don't jump every week, I want to have to have the setup, packing, and break down burn into my head so that I don't have to refer to the chart posted at the school.
  4. Hi all, Where can I find photos or diagram on step by step packing instructions, setup, and breakdown? Thank you in advance,
  5. Hello, I'm a newbie to the sport. Which of these two helmets (hurricane vs bonehead midwarp) is more comfortable and a better buy. I have to order these through my dropzone as they didn't have the sizing in stock. Thanks in advance for your suggestions or comments. Moron
  6. No pain and No rining, but I'll have it checked out later today. Advice well heeded, billvon!
  7. Hi all, Newbie here…..so pardon my ignorance for making this comment. I was checking out some skydiving helmets at a local shop, and I noticed they’re over priced and offer very little real life protection when comparing to helmets made for their respective sports. For example, I looked at Bonehead composite helmet that sells for $200+. The shell and lining of the Bonehead is thin as can be. I’m sorry! I can't see how a helmet like that will protect someone from a serious knock to the head. This bonehead helmet can NOT hold a candle next to my SNELL rated ski helmet at less than half that cost. What's up with that? Why do skydiver even put up buying a inferior helmets like that? Are they really buying it for looks or for protection?
  8. Hi all, Newbie here. I finished off my AFF level 7 and 8 over the weekend. I jumped with a sinus cold because it was approaching my 30 days deadline. While I was descending, I heard a pop in my left ear. Now I can seem to equalize that ear. What happened? Did damaged my ear drum?
  9. GavityGirl - What do you recommend? I see many using jockey goggles. Should I follow the heard? SkyBytch - Good advice.
  10. Hi all. Newbie here. I made it past level 4 aff. Instead of buying another set of eyewear. Has anyone tried using ski goggle for skydiving? Is that frown upon? Thanks in advance,
  11. Hi everyone, Newbie here! I have a pre-existing dislocated left shoulder that can sublux if place in extreme position. I have had 4 AFF jumps without a problem. I've been told to hit the wind tunnel to work on my 90 degree turns before proceeding to my next jump. While at the wind tunnel, I saw a warning sign saying those with dislocated shoulders should not enter the wind tunnel. Any advice or suggestion? Dropzone_Moron
