How did your cutaway pillow get in your left hand and the silver reserve handle stay in the velcro?

My 2 cents for what it's worth. When you encounter a spinning malfunction there are a few main worries... It appears there was at least one other jumper in your vicinity. A Spinning mal will fling you all over the sky. Get on those handles quick. Nothing like spinning into your pals that didn't track away very far. A spinning mal can lose altitude at an incredibly deceiving rate. Get on those handles. Nothing like hitting the ground at line stretch because you didn't want to snag your camera. Get on those handles. Nothing sucks worse than getting into a high speed spin and not being able to get your hands on your handles, or passing out before you cutaway and pull silver. And a little food for thought for the rest of you. A mal like that at a nice flat DZ like that looked is one thing. I wouldn't want to lose that much altitude at the Ranch or Lost Prairie, DZ's with elevation changes and not many outs for first time reserve riders. Just say'n...

Gingrich is pretty amusing on all of the news talk shows. He loves to attack the current administration on every and all fronts. I get that, it's his "job". But every single time he is asked for a solution to our ills, he miumbles, stumbles and does the same ol' spin double talk of most politicians, Democrat or Republican. I don't think the guy had an original thought, ever. I would take him serious if he would just answer one question straight up that is presented to him.

I think Earl is spinning in his grave over all of this! If he was still around he would kick Tiger's punk ass all the way up and down each fairway at the Masters! I think a poll should be: Do Newbie jumpers hate experienced jumpers". There are lots of people that will help you out, just like the "old farts" did with us. But that happens at the real DZ, in person, not Dork Zone.com. And when you do something sort of dangerous or stupid at the DZ and an old fart tells you about it, don't get your panties in a bunch. And I agree with the fact that some "experienced" jumpers do the stupidest shit I have ever seen.

If you are serious call me. And THEN whack yourself over the head with a hammer! DSE presents all of the good points. There are a few other considerations.

Here in Ontario, Calif. we had a taser death in 1986. A young man got drunk and threatened to kill his common law wife. He doused her with gasoline and held a lighter to her and their little newborn son. Tasers were pretty new then and only a surpervisor was allowed to carry them on our PD. A long time Sgt. drew his gun on the fellow and oredered him to release his wife and child. The guy was screaming in Spanish and was dragging them around the back yard. The officer holstered his sidearm and got the taser. He approached him and shot the darts at the suspect. It was "Flame On". The suspect bounced around the backyard like Johnny Torch, catching the trash cans, buches and garage on fire. The officer grabbed a dry chem extinguisher and put out the suspect, who had severe burns by this point. I was on the Arson Squad back then and the big wigs from the Taser Corp. came out to our training center to do some testing. Yup, people conduct electricity and if they are covered with gasoline they will explode if tasered. The Sgt. should have just shot the guy with his service revolver. And of course his common law wife sued our city for a few million dollars. We settled out of court for $650,000. There went our 1987 raises. Like a few others here, I have been working the streets for a long time. I highly recommend riding out with your local PD if you think it's all fun and games and abuse of power. Hell, in this day and age of cell phone cameras and videos, I'm surprised any bad guys get beaten or tased. Ask yourself what all of those people on the list were doing to get themselves tased. I doubt if they were just sitting having ice cream on a summer evening. It can get pretty ugly and violent out there.

There are a lot of Canadians joining us in Belize next week. We should be pretty loud watching the Olympic hockey tournament! This is gonna be fun!

I'm showing my age, but I sure wish Jim McKay was still alive and hosting the Olympics.

I remember the horror when Dan Jansen crashed speed skating. But I think 2 things from the winter olympics really sticks out for me. 1988, Calgary. Albero Tomba dominates. Ski jumper Matti Nykanen wins all ski jumping events, Grinkov and Gordeeva debut in pairs, but who do we all remember????? "Eddie the Eagle" and the Jamaican bobsled team!!!!!
