First of all: The dates are 24th - 31 st of July 2004 at Lidkoping (Hovby Airport) Sweden. Secondly; the following organizers have signed up already; Kate Cooper, Larry Henderson, Gareth Holder, Markku Teivainen, BJ Worth and Guy Wright. As we are stilling looking in to last years success of the boogie and the quality of the skydives perfomed, we believe that a 300+ jump limit (student jump not included) should still apply. However, we might be going for even higher quality - which means that the skydivers should at least be able to do sequential 10 - 20 ways in order to be in the organised groups. But we'll return on that issue after our next committee meeting end of this month. Hi Vicki, To get to the boogie you really have a lot of options: 1. Ferry from Newcastle to Gothenburg with DFDS Seaway - http://www.dfdsseaways.co.uk/ and then by your car to Lidkoping 2. By air to GOT (Goteborg I'ntl Airport) and then bus or train to Lidkoping. 3. By Air to Gotenburg City Airport (Save) by Ryan Air from Stansted - http://www.ryanair.com/ And remember that we will update the website very soon as the one currently displayed is from 2002. In Sweden we have a small guidline called the "Jespercurve"!!!! which we are using as a rule regarding choice of canopies for newbies and people with little experience (small amount of jumps) and according to this list YOU should be jumping nothing smaller then a 177 sqf chute, BUT recommended size with your experience is a 210 sqf canopy. After this guideline was introduced in Sweden we have had very few accidents with low experience jumpers with hotshot canopies... Have fun and stay safe Schwede

New world record? Most tandems in one day

Congrats, but how many tandems where done??? It doesn't say that anywhere.. Our club did, with 10 tandem master - 110 tandems in 12 hours out of one skyvan at 13300 feet. Schwede "Das Leben ist schön, nicht immer aber immer öfter" -
And last week there was a new try to break the record.. a 22 way at Gryttjom-Stockholm, unfortunately it did not complete. However there was a 5-way freefly nude in the air... Is this a new record for nude FF-formation?? Schwede "Das Leben ist schön, nicht immer aber immer öfter"

Get your ass over to Sweden!!!! Here you can get in on a discount sytem in the beginning of the year for about 900 USD and then they will charge you approx 6 USD for 13200 feet.... But remember in Sweden we still have clubs running on a non profit basis and in the U.S and other countries with commercial DZs they do it for profit... Example: last year the Swedish Hercules boogie had a ticket price of 18 USD and WFFC had 70 USD for the C130!!!!!!!!!!! Schwede "Das Leben ist schön, nicht immer aber immer öfter" -
Torsdag 24 juli 2003, 8.54 Svensk fallskärmshoppare död i Norge En svensk fallskärmshoppare avled på onsdagskvällen efter att ha hoppat från en fjällvägg i Norge. Ögonvittnen berättar att de sett svenskens fallskärm veckla ut sig men att han strax därpå slog in i bergväggen. Räddningsmanskapet lokaliserade svensken vid nio-tiden på kvällen, en dryg halvtimme efter hoppet. Han hade då avlidit av de skador han ådragit sig. Short translation..... "A swedish parachutist deceased on wednesday evening after a jump in Norway. The parachute opened but took the jumper in to the mountainside. A rescue party located the swede around nine in the evening, approx 30 minutes after the jump. He was found dead after the injures." Does anyone have any more news about the case.... I seem to remember almost the same discussion when the Cypres hit the market in the early 90's. A decade later we see some interesting alternatives to show up. However I do believe that these questions should be put directly to the manufacturer as they are the only ones who can answer such questions... However, I'm willing to give this new one a shot at it and put pressure on Airtech to live up to their first promises of a lifetime of the unit "as long as you'll be jumping"... At www.vigil.aero there is a presentation for a new AAD with at least a 20 years lifespan.. Looks very much like the Cypres II but cheaper and longer life time... Anyone heard anything of this one??? Schwede "Das Leben ist schön, nicht immer aber immer öfter"

Well, the organizers (LO) are better, the formation skydives is of higher standard, sequential 30 + ways, the girls are getting younger, the weather was fantastic last time, but otherwise... It's all the same - C130 during the daytime, beer in the bar, girls in the tent or on the lawn, liveband almost every evening.. Great to see if you could make it next year...
