Hey all, Just another RC.commer poking his head in the door; thought I'd do it in a mostly appropriate fashion and intro myself. Truth be told, if I could afford to spend large chunks of money, I'd likely already be a jumper; sadly, it's not possible. I'd definitely like to give jumping a try; maybe next season. Yup - the figure-4. Very, very cool maneuver. It's so far above my level of expertise that all I can do is watch in amazement. I think it's mostly used in ice- and mixed-climbing (climbing ice and rock with ice gear); I suppose it could be done on regular rock, but wow - what a trip! I'm guessing your buddy saw a film called "Musashi"; I saw it at the Banff Film Festival a couple years ago. The guy who put up that M-graded route (Mixed) is incredible. A friend of mine, who's been ice climbing for over 12 years (solo for half that time), said "that's damned impressive. I can't even come close to that." Good stuff. That would be a great trade. The only problem with that is you have to find a skydiver who has the appropriate ratings to train you and who also jumps at the dz in your area. Most of us can jump with you once you have gone through your training and we can teach you new things in the air, but we can't do the initial training. __________________________________________ Any of us, can and will, accept their pictures of boobies! I think I could be persuaded to give climbing sessons, for skydiving lessons. The only place near me, charges $200 per sesson - 4 hours, I think, with one tandem jump.
