  2. Sweet! If you have further team details (2x performer and 1x camera flyer name) shoot me an email, so I can ad the info
  3. Its the 'German blocker' I installed...first my bicycle back..than we'll talk Uploading a Vimeo version tomorrow JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Its Costyns camerawork (the slowmo stuff) and Boris' editing I only had a small part in this one.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Flying at high performance levels isnt a new thing. Even at the wingsuitcompetition in Italy it showed teams aiming for faster/better flying got in better freefall times and distances (notable by opening spot). It happens everywhere. Though its easy to go overboard, and I think pushing the performance level with a complete formation is key. Slowly increasing it, with a complete formation. Instead of a balistic base nobody can catch, and shooting for bragging rights. The gradual increase proposed by Yuri sets a good base for development.. In this form and shape, definately a good first (and hopefully with more accurate results than GPS based measuring). A similar idea (flying a complete 4 way diamond, in frame) was also suggested for Marl a year or two ago. Also a format thats definately interesting to explore more. If coming to Zflock, maybe also bring your device and lets play! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Hi everyone, Robert put his evil twin Boris to work again, and he created an awesome edit with a great selection of BASE and Skydive highlights from 2009. You can check it out on www.YouTube.com/PhoenixFlyTV Enjoy! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Haha...finaly the man has a good, practical and fun idea for a competition. And this is how you guys respond. Look beyond the box guys.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. As pointed out by an attentive Russian reader...it should read 3rd edition. Though we are of course, also very 3D... Can I play the non-native speaker card? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. The Trailer with some funky shots from the last 2 years is now also online JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. And more news... We are currently looking at also having the DZ open a few days prior to the competition for practice jumps. Thursday/Friday as a given. If we have more teams wanting to train a few days before, let us know so we can arrange everything more specific in terms of lift capacity. I will also ask Giovanni to post more information on hotels and dz sleeping facilities. And we have our first Russian team with 'Defy Gravity'! The list of teams is growing fast! 11. And heard we are getting a skyvan, instead of a caravan! Nice! (making linked exits a whole lot easier) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Just a small addition, as we got some questions with regards to the divepool. By lottery (drawing em out of a hat, with each figure in it twice) we will determine the final rounds. So an example competition could be: round 1: A C (repeat) round 2: B B (repeat) round 3: F A (repeat) round 4: D E (repeat) round 5: C E (repeat) round 6: free round So everyone can practice the figures. But the actual order wont be known untill a day before the competition. So pratice, practice, practice. And any USA flyers looking at coming to the comp this year? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Thats a full on 'hell to the yes, Im jealous' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Do put a sand bucket in the packing area... I know I always get close to being arrested for smuggling sand, hidden in the cells of my main Great way to ease the packing of brand-new canopies though JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. wingsuitcompetition.com has been updated with the Divepool, and several other additions. And having seen some video this past weekend of the Spanish 'bad boys' in action during some of their training jumps, awesome! I can only comment saying that this years competition is going to be intense, and the flying you will see is going to be beautifull! Next to the live scoring for the web, we will also try and upload the rounds to the website as soon as they have been completed. Looking forward to September! Check it out! 16. And we have new teams confirmed.... teams FlyLikeBrick - The Netherlands Team Oden - Sweden Oxygen Wingsuit Team - Belgium "Easy to Fly" wingsuit team - Italy "Bad Boys" - Spain pending Les Pengouins - France (?) TonySuits Factory Team - USA (?) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. When replying, a full quote of the post above you isnt needed..but that aside.. Its all Theory..in RW your lower legs/feet point up, so ankle docks would stack a formation. Not an issue that bother us, but even there its not needed. Again..when talking judging theory is great...but this stuff needs to be figured out flying. You'll be amazed to see where it might go in just a few short years... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. new features: clean leading edge new inlet design (taken from the V3) for better pressurization new cutaway design (cleaner system, freeing arms completely of any wing fabric attached) quick zipper rigging system slightly altered wing profile/size The updates Robi introduced on the P2z already a year ago, are now standard on every suit ordered. Several mods go across the production line, and can be found on most current '2' designs of the PF product range. Its never needed to ask for the latest version, its always whats made. New designs coming out are always announced ahead of time, so people wont get caught ordering something 'old'. Looking forward to see everything 2010 will bring us! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. On my Stealth, i can get the arms all the way up to shoulder level/straight. But even a swept wing position, like I have on my Acro doesnt seem to give any placement issues (see attachment..and thats with a huge/tall helmet). A 2 meter person flying on your left, and 1.50 meter person flying on your right will be a more difficult thing to deal with than suit design. but even that may be solves easy with grippers from knee to toe. Who knows... Its funny how we are compared to FS/RW and FF one time. Than tracking and atmonauti the other. And than suddenly we are airplane formations who just dont dock (cause the pussy metal birds dont have hands) Its easy to do a simple and selective copy paste from each dicipline in terms of limitations. But like many things in our sport, we have to see which ones actually apply. We are a bit of this, a bit of that. But a completely different thing all together. If your father is a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery, and your mother a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet...does that automaticly mean you will become a bald supervillain, because thats all other say you can be? Isnt it up to you to see what you actually can and cant do? Its great to be all theoretical about what does and doesnt work in terms of gripped and/or non-gripped formations. But in the end, throwing our tight and fit looking ass (as we're all athletes according to our websites) out the door of an airplane, and actually doing some flying and trying it all is the only thing we can do to make sure it actually gets tested. So lets first so a double dozen videos on what we can do, and in the process of discovering also see how awesome the 'I guess it doesnt work' videos look as well...and than draw conclusions.. As so far...a 5 way docked line, should be something easily beaten? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Most current suits allow a straight arm position. Variable jumper height is the bigger issue..actually trying this stuff is going to be a better and much more fun way to experiment with all this.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. The Phantom2z is the only version thats being made. So everyone gets the same up to date model. The P2z is a radical update on the P2, but not visualy deemed enough of a change to warrent a P3 name.. But performancewise, its quite a different animal compared to the previous ittirations... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Show a 400 way RW formation photo to Leo Valentin during his efforts to just fall stable, and he'd say the same thing JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. V3 aside, current leadtimes are around 3 to 4 weeks for all PF suits. So no worries about being without gear...and the 2nd hand market is also thriving, and after an FFC, 100% worth looking at.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. I think thats actually what everyone is hopefully realising as well. As we where getting close to current ideas and conventions determiniing the standard for years to come...while its 100% sure, this will all evolve by practice, and years of just flying.. But even than...it never hurts to debate a little bit... I for sure think this is more constuctive than the eternal 'do I reaaaallly need 200 jumps' discussion, or 'when will jeb land' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. The definition is one that needs to be worked out, as so far the descriptions presented are all very open to interpetation. And docked formation will become A norm at some point. Be it now or in 5 years. And I seriously dont see the need to adapt the designs for that. Again its a matter of skill and practice. But rightfully so, needing a proper definition and norm to stop regression into normal freefall from becoming the norm. A similar problem we had the first year in the artistic competition we ran, as did the Birdman challange in Swiss. Arched freefall was rewarded, by faster/easier docks, and thus more points. But with a simple set of rules/definitions (related to a score for 'style', meaing smoothness, bodyposition, flying, cleanness of docks etc) a focus on actual flying was forced. And trying to come up with a certain performance envelope everyone needs to fly within, is one of the key challenges indeed. Which leads to an interesting question. Should we maybe rate wingsuit formations (docked and non-linked) based on style/performance, much like we rate Freefly/Freestyle in the ARTISTIC diciplines? A non-gripped formation flown 5 seconds, at shitty fallrates and fwd speed. How does it compare to exactly the same spacing, yet rock-solid for a full 3 minutes, with 2.5 glide ratios. It wont rate higher based on the slots/judging positioning. Should the judging maybe also include something akin to points for style? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
