It's not unlikely that the muslim extremists in the provincial islands of the philippines will be willing to try this tactic now that they've seen it work. All they have to do is start by asking for small, trivial stuff, then work their way up. In case you haven't been concerned with that part of the globe, the Philippines have been dealing with islamic terrorism for a long time. It is still a very big problem there. Oh, hello again!

So it's okay to give that no-bid to Halliburton, as long as Bush wasn't in office? I don't suppose giving the job to the best people matters. It always has been silly about the outrage over the Halliburton stuff. Oh, hello again!

Ecstatic. The only saving graces of any of the articles listed is that they quoted their sources. I wouldn't have thought Serbia to be more expensive... it's a lot smaller and we didn't have to do too much other than launch missiles. Oh, hello again!

What is that saying? "STOP THE WAR.... unless a democrat is president" I thought that was funny. To your point, maybe you are correct, but it makes your position much more compelling if you put the facts in your post... instead of just telling people to do their homework. It, in fact, may be junk... but at least back it up. Oh, hello again!

Yeah, Clinton didn't REALLY bomb anyone... the military did it for him. I see what you're saying... Oh, hello again!

I especially thought this paragraph was interesting and worthy of some discussion. Curious. Oh, hello again!

Cheap, punk-ass Democrats hold hate-fest
Trent replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in Speakers Corner
Sorry to interject, just wanted to get something down in writing before the conventions... I'm betting if there are any riots outside of either convention, it'll be left and far left rioting outside the Republican convention, not vice versa. Of course, it could get ugly since there will be TONS of security... ... we'll see though. Oh, hello again! -
I just thought that was worth repeating. I too doubt my testicles taste like apple fritters. Funniest thing I've heard in a while. Thanks! Oh, hello again!

Damn, got in so late here that you'll probably never see my response... anyway... ... Or how about this: That giant other organization that can't seem to find anything wrong with the guy you think is a theif, is being swayed by people you know are in business with the theif. What do you do then? Oh, hello again!

Totally, belly flying is a ton of fun. I get on belly jumps whenever I can (if we're not working or training). 1/2 the time it's so fun is because we don't get to do it that often, the other half is because I'm so used to jumping with just 2 other people instead of 3 or 19! I strongly encourage all freeflyers of all levels to get out and have some fun with the belly organizers at their DZs. It's all fun, right!? Oh, hello again!

Ask the UN, they were doing it. I think the example is valid. No one I've heard has disputed that the former Iraqi government violated UN orders. Orders that had consequences including military action. Most of the gripes I've heard is that the US and a few other countries just acted without UN approval. Would it have been okay if the UN decided to enforce its orders, or would that have been wrong too? Oh, hello again!

I think we might be there... prolly... most likely ...and stuff. Oh, hello again!

Sorry about that, I saw green and remembered seeing him in here.... Either way, my comments stand, and you didn't answer my question. Your argument is a non-sequitur. Because there is proof of A, doesn't mean B is true, only that A is. Oh, hello again!

Okay Quade, I'll play your funny analogy game... If there is proof that something exists, then it is reasonable to think that it does exist. If there is proof that UFOs exist, why would that lead me to beleive that they are abducting people? That's like saying I have proof that donuts exist, so I also beleive they are out to take over the world. Stop being silly. Your answers the cop out pal! Remember we WERE talking about the article that said Fox viewers are more likely to be wrong about the WMD issue in Iraq... and until there is a definite answer to that question... you can't 100% say that anyone is right or wrong. Right? Oh, hello again!
-
Maybe, but that wasn't what my post was about... ...it was about the Fox viewers being wrong stuff. I'm just saying that it's only opinion until there is proof one way or the other... and in time, I'm sure there will be enough reason to say yes or no to the fact that the WMD were there and there was an AQ connection. Right. Oh, hello again!
-
Come on guys, neither one of you can definitively say that the article stating Fox viewers were more likely to be wrong about the WMD and al-qaida thing. In order to say that, you have to have proven that there were no WMD and there was no AQ connection. The 9/11 report doesn't PROVE that these things didn't exist, it just says it couldn't find them. SO, rushmc is assuming that there will eventually be proof of these connections and you and the report about Fox viewers is assuming that there will be proof against these connections. That's all. Oh, hello again!

For certain kinds of movies, you're correct. But what about movies about penguins, and scuba diving, and great white sharks? See? Ya gots documentaries, mockumentaries, and op-ed pieces... Oh, hello again!

Hey I didn't start a new thread all about me, you did. Oh, hello again!

To answer your question, even though it's only feeding your ego at this point: Why don't I go sign up? Don't want to. Will I go if they draft me? Yep. Do I beleive 100% in everything that is going on? Nope, but you didn't bother to ask. Do I think Bush is all-knowing and all-just? No. Do I think the war is just? I think Saddam needed to be removed, yes. Do I like the whole WMD thing, no. Do I like that people are dying? No. According to people here, I can serve my country in other ways, other than militarily... right? I'll start with showing you that you were wrong in a factual and logical argument... without calling people fascists and going nuts with the evil government talk. Oh, hello again!
-
Hahahaha, sorry you're so riled up Ted. Our argument was about the Patriot Act, and the fact that you're misinterpreting parts of it. If you'd have brought it up, or asked I'd have told you that I wasn't the biggest fan of the act myself. But I will debate that what you were saying was BS because it was. I'll ignore your petty jibe since it basically falls under the same category of "love it or leave it!". Take your fascism talk to someone who's ignorant enough to believe you. Oh, hello again!
-
Yes, I understand what you're saying. Yes, I've seen parts of her films (not that interested in them). A documentary can be propaganda is what you're getting at, right? According to the MW definitions, it would seem they can't. I haven't shouted yet. Just want you to bother the dictionary guys about this definition, since you clearly have a better one. Oh, hello again!
-
Enjoy your deluded sense of reality, Ted. Maybe read the sections YOU referenced and see that it does allow a judge to stop a warrant. Of course your done with it, you're wrong. Oh, hello again!
-
Actually, I took a film class at NYU, they weren't teaching how to use a dictionary. Maybe you missed English class? Besides, most people don't need a film class to read a dictionary. I guess the definition of "documentary" is subjective too? How about we make everything that YOU don't agree with "subjective" so you always have something to argue? Like I said, get MW to change the definitions if you don't like 'em. Oh, hello again!
