Today finds me in the great state that is Oregon. Home of medicinal maryjane,assisted suicide, owl savin', tree huggin', bike ridin' open minded folks.... I decided since what appeared to be sunshine in the sky, I would rather go for a drive than sit alone in the stately Barnhouse manor,so I packed up early and set off.....destination the Columbia River Gorge. First I must admit that Oregonians are not known for thier driving abilities and being a native Washingtonian, would have to concurr with such an assessment. I mean really.....why do people have to drive up your bumper only to pass you and go slower in the passing lane. I just don't get it! Oh and those cute little lavendar haired ladies who insist on having the right of way while turning left in the intersection whilst others are going through a green light.....yikes! Coming from Arizona to Oregon in December.....what was I thinking? (don't respond Clay!) LOL The drive through the gorge was beautiful and the scenery some of the best this nation has to offer. I stopped at the Bridge of the Gods and tossed out a thanks for all of the safe journeys and found myself with blue lips, hands and other body parts too cold to mention. It was a mere 32 degrees! Not near the 72 that I am accustomed to in Arizona (I thought 72 was cold)!! It is 43 in Portland today, and I am bundled up like the Michelin Tire man......but man it is green, lush and pristine....I miss the desert and will be happy to return, but there most certainly is beauty in all things if one only opens thier eyes...even when your eyeballs freeze Cheers!
