Ohhhhhh but not nearly as entertaining as Skreamers exit Luv ya Will!!

A person just doesn't know what to think. My last jump of the day coming into the north landing area there was a cross-wind. This is not unusual in these parts and if one is accustomed to them, its generally not an issue. Like most things you learn how to survive in your environment. We get all kinds of jumpers here just as most places do and today was no exception. As I came on the downwind leg, making my way to turn onto final I look toward the east end of the landing area and see to my amazement, a fella with his left toggle depressed (remember those cross winds?) and being blown directly toward the packing tent located on the east end of the landing area. I remember thinking ...oh thats gonna hurt! There are two fence lines in that area. One a split rail with openings to ward off spectators from the landing area, and the other about 6 feet tall that encloses this particular packing area. (yes this is a no fly zone) Next thing I see is the canopy hanging from the corner of the taller fence, and the jumper wedged in between some of the slats. Seems his rig got stuck and he couldnt move. I am pleased to say that the jumper was unharmed and walked away laughing. It could have been catastrophic, and it did make for some interesting video. Better yet..don't pass out around this crowd! Personal items have been known to go a missing, and some creative art applied to the intoxicated person as well

I think that folks assume way more than they should. Obviously, I didn't think it was a given, therefore others may think in the same way. Then again others may not consider aircraft maintenance at all. Thusly the reason for my post.

Wowza!! There have been several jumpship incidents due to contaminated fuel, some costing lives. You can read of several cases where jumpships have not been properly maintained and have had to abort jumprun, enact emergency procedures and tell people to bail. I don't see it as a given. I am not a aircraft pilot, but I do jump out of them everyday. Maintenance is the highest priority. As I said earlier low jump prices arent going to do anyone any good if an aircraft is grounded. The fastest jumpship will cease being the fastest with poor maintenance.
