  1. I had the most excellent fortune of being able to spend time with Joe Jennings (even if he did miss the tram on the jump with Gasson) As one who isn't impressed easily, I can say with all sincerity that I stood in the presence of greatness. Not because of his film making nor his flying ability, but rather the fact that he is a wonderful human being. His generosity of spirit and kindness served to raise the bar. He is truly a humble champion.
  2. LMAO! Actually, Greg should be kissing this guys fanny! I'll tell you why in a second.... The person in the pantz saw my red ones and simply insisted on trying them after having drilled me 20 questions! I , being the good Momma Bird that I am,helped him out with a demo pair from the school. Needless to say this fella absoulely loved them and yes I got the first smack on his fine bootay That fine looking backside belongs to none other than Joe Jennings... As to Greg and the next Holiday Boogie...he promises he will get better at his flying skills so that poeple will jump with him. He has threatened to make a sign that reads "Will jump for pack jobs." Oh and Mister Jennings...he is one cool dude.....he is going to try to be out for the holiday boogie as well
  3. The guy in the smack bootay pantz and just what was Gasson thinking?
  4. Gotta take care of our family
  5. All I can offer is 2nd hand (Directly to me from McGowan) He offered that upon inspection the pilot chute was not coocked. He offered as well that on his tear drop there has to be a bit of slack in the bridle over the pin. If there isnt it may cause a pilot chute in tow. The main components dislodged as the reserve opened. On the way to the hospital, he talked quite a bit about this new camera of his. He mentioned that he and Norman are two of the few to use it. Me thinks there might be a nice discussion coming in the photography forum...but I'll leave that to him. Mike has been up and a bout although its only for a few minutes at a time. Jen retreived him and he will spend a few days at their home in California. The following note is for Mike cuz I know that he will be responding here soon. "Mike...the Doctor said 14 days!!!!" just a reminder to him....but then...has anyone known the McGowan to mind very well? bwahhhhhhhhh
  6. Container: Tear Drop Reserve: Raven loaded @ 1.54 Main: Nitron 135 Jumps 10,000+ The main was cut away and cleared. On the tear drop the bridle must have slack over the pin. After speaking with the packer he assured me that there was more than enough slack in the bridle. Upon inspection, the pilot chute was not cocked. Everything at this point is speculation.
  7. Raven 120 loaded at appx 1.54 He chopped the main which cleared as the reserve was deployed.
  8. Yes. As to the cause of the mal I'll let you know shortly. The information given wasn't clear and I would like to offer a factual accounting. BB
  9. McGowan had a pilot chute in tow yesterday. He cut away the main and deployed his reserve. This is a high speed mal and there are different schools of thought as how to best deal with it. This is McGowans 2nd pilot chute in tow in over 10,000 jumps. The first one he ended up with a double mal.
  10. McGowan suffered severe opening shock trauma to his neck and back yesterday after the deployment of his reserve. M2 had a pilot chute in tow and activated his emergency procedures at 2,500 feet AGL. He is doin' ok but will be out of the air for awhile. He is currently resting at home. He remarked that this is the same scenerio as when he had his double mal in Pennsylvania He did manage to crack me up....he was so concerned that his new camera wasn't damaged in the landing.....sheesh....camera guys BB
