  1. Who is the manufacturer of the pilot chute and bridal?? Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  2. Thank you for the input. I've read many posts within this thread that have given good input on opinions and some posts that have slandered without cause. If there are more people reading this thread that have jumped different gear and haven't posted yet, please do so. I hope that more people post their feedback on different gear jumped. The purpose of this thread isn't to get into gear wars but rather help out someone who hasn't had the opportunity to jump the rigs listed in the subject line (or others). I myself at this time barely have over 300 jumps and I can humbly say that I don't know everything about rigs....... thus the reason for me starting this thread. Please keep that in mind if you have a similar amount of jumps like myself when posting here that you remain objective, especially if you haven't jumped a variety of the rigs listed above. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  3. Please tell me why you feel this way. I have a Quasar II and never had a PM with it's primitive spandex BOC design. Please give details to opinion if you get this post. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  4. I want to keep picking your brain. Why do you prefer to jump without a MARD? I personally do a lot of cross country, high alt. hop&pops and always disconnect my RSL just because we are so close to Jacksonville International Airport. I've read too many tail numbers of Southwest Airlines not to leave it detached. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  5. Bummer.... I do like that skyhook works Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  6. I've never been to STF before.... sounds like fun. Friendly faces for new faces? Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  7. Oh please!!!!! This is the only presidential candidate that ran a clean, respectful campaign. McCain and Romney threw mud at each other but Huckabee stayed clear of it. I have respect for that. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  8. Those are superior pictures DSE!!! I do have one question..... Skyhook??? Obviously Microns have it but can Voodoo, Mirage, Wings, etc... have the skyhook option? I heard some rigs have the modified option for it but wasn't sure which ones. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  9. This is all great feedback. I need to get in the sadle with some of these rigs and test jump them. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  10. We told our Optimum test canopy to jump in the D-bad and it did; without any back talking or smart remarks. It's very obideint. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  11. Unless it's from Vince Offer.... SHAM WOW Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  12. That was great feedback!!! Thank you. I do like the Quasar II but you are right, the metal spring system was a horrible design. The good news is that Strong no longer uses those and the other Quasars were fixed under service bulletin 26. I will talk with other riggers and call to some other larger DZ's as well. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  13. I see your point. I like the skyhook because of canopy collisions at altitudes below 600 feet. If I'm not mistaken within the past year or so, there was a canopy collission close to 500 feet and the guy with the skyhook lived while the other jumper died due to the time involved with the pilot chute launch from the reserve. I am hoping someone can provide feedback on the Mirage system too. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  14. What about Mirage do you not like??? Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  15. I never tested the Micron, how comfortable?? I do like the skyhook system. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  16. This is an old thread but I wanted to comment because of the canopy and exit weight discussion. I once owned a Sabre2 190 that I bought brand new and I liked the two stage flare but I hated the openings. Now before anyone jumps the gun about blaming the packers, Performance Designs ruled that my specific canopy was dangerous and they were unable to locate the problem through troubleshooting. My particular Sabre2 slammed so hard that it took me out of the air for 2 weeks and their test jumper out of the air for 10 days. It was packed by many senior riggers, packers, and test pilots at PD and it still slammed hard on opening. Now I am not saying that all Sabre 2's do that..... just the one I had. I would like to compliment and praise the wonderful service at Performance Designs because Donna Wagner in production had emailed me and called me up stating they were sincerely apologetic for the issues and due to the difficulty in locating the problem, Performance Designs was willing to manufacture a brand new canopy for me with customer colors, model, and size of my choice at NO CHARGE !!!! (size & model restricted to experience and number of jumps) I was thrilled at her offer and happy that PD truly cares about their customers. I told Ms. Wagner that I had 270 jumps at that time and that the smallest canopy I've flown was a Spectre 170. I after testing canopies, I chose the Stiletto 170. PD then contacted my DZ's S&TA and DZO to verify my statement about experience and after confirming the information and clearing it with a PD manager, I was given a brand new Stiletto 170. My exit weight is 211 lbs and I love the Stiletto 170. I couldn't tell you about the Fusion but I love the Stiletto and how it flares. As far as size, it appears that our exit weight is similar and PD had no issue with releasing a 170 to me. Blue skies my friend. I hope this helps. 17. Okay ladies and gents, I am in need of some feedback from people who have tested or own the following rigs. I am ready to buy another new container system but am not sure which way I want to go. Currently I own a Quasar II from Strong Enterprises and I have no complaints or issues with it. I am simply looking for something with more options and color designs and I am ready to downsize both main & reserve and would like to have two rigs. I have tested wings before and it's comfortable but was told by many people that it's not rigger friendly (not sure if that's true). Never tested a Mirage and I never tested a Voodoo but I like how they look and they seem to be pretty freefly friendly from what I have researched. Any feedback (pros and cons) on either of these systems would be helpful. I am turning to my brothers and sisters in the skydiving community to give me a hand on this. Blue skies everyone!!!!! 18. I'll join ya on the couch. You know, I usually see the same characters involved with the same mud slinging on the forums. Drama, drama, drama. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  19. I am a Ruger guy!!!! Two matching identical Ruger P-85 MKII 9mm (Stainless) with Hogue grips. I also have a Ruger P-90 .45 ACP (Blue) with a Hogue grip. Defense ammo is Winchester 5th generation Ranger Talons (formally black talons). and no they aren't "cop kilers". That's just typical left-wing liberal conventional wisdom running like a wildfire without knowing the facts. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  20. Damn.... Well I guess you made it where he cant hide now. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  21. I never voted for Bush (who funded a 3-trillion dollar war with my money for his own forced morality). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5p-qIq32m8 Forced morality? Did you vote for any of these people? They seemed to consider it a matter of national security. Good comeback Tank. 22. Only because he escaped assination. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  23. Well, at least he can have drinks on the "other side" with Mary Jo Kopechne..... although she might be choking or slapping him right about now. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  24. Only the ones that aren't chanting Allah Akbar and killing innocent people in clubs, metro buses, commercial aircraft, trade towers, embassy buildings, and vehicle check points. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
  25. You ASSume incorrectly, as usual. I have not commented at all on the Lockerbie decision, just on the double standards of you and others. Where was the self-righteous outrage when the captain of the Vincennes was presented with a medal on his return? Make no mistake.... I am opposed of any medal received if it was awarded for shooting down the civilian aircraft. However, there are medals that are given to all crew for certain operations and sea service every time they are deployed. I know as I got medals for my Naval service on active duty just because I was part of the squadron taking part of a certain mission.
