  1. there is a guy at my DZ that had one of those nerf whistles (from the nerf footbal that whistles when you throw it) attached to his helmet.. I dont think he had it for awareness at all..just for making a hell of a screech when hookin'... was pretty cool.. I think it fell off in freefall though.. _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  2. sunday looks like its going to be ok now... maybe sat afternoon as well.! _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  3. probably Roger Humphry in Skydive Wayne County (Richmond, IN) he took me up on my first "coach dive" (I did static line so this was the first time I saw someone in freefall) ...we were supposed to just face eachother and I was to keep a heading.. we ended up doing about 4 docks!... it was the best time. He has also been very helpful when learning crew and accuracy (he is AWESOME at accuracy..jump a fury 220) it was really cool for me to see someone who had been in the sport for over 40 years and still kickin' it! _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  4. do you own the land free and clear or is that being financed currently? the reason I ask is you may be able to take a loan on the land. roughly how much are you looking to finance? have you looked into personal unsecured loans/lines? (I work in financing..primarily mortgages, but I may have a few ideas for you with a little more info. PM me if you would like) _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  5. hey man.. isnt that like sexual discrimination or somehing? the few and far between male jumpers should stand up for our rights _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  6. I am sure you will do fine. and dont rush anything.. there is no need to jump the gun in this sport, take it slow, easy, and cautiously and you will succeed... wether its belly, freeflying, or anything..spaceland has the crew to learn from.. welcome to the sport and spaceland. and dz.com _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  7. I turn around all the time in my harness...as stated before you may want to keep your chest strap pretty tight just for that added security..while it doesnt matter than much in the 180 twist, if something were to go wrong and you needed to chop, having everything secure is a huge plus! another thing I do (learned from lewmonster) is occasionally flip upside down (as stated previously)...what I do, though, is kick my feet up and put my heels on my slider...kinda funcky feeling... _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  8. congrads on you solo. we all werent stable on our first solo... ok so I was, but thats beside the point look me up sometime at spaceland.. Im the guy with the flourescent green and red mohawk on my helmet.. perhaps when you get to coach jumps I can take you up?... and when you get your licence and a few belly jumps Ill try my best to transfer you over to the dark side (freeflying) _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  9. sweet stuff... now if only the weather can cooperate we can do more than hop and pops getting wet in the pond:) well ok...so I cant get REALLY drenched until I take my cypress out or get a cypress 2... mel: cool cant wait to see you guys again..! _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  10. dont get me wrong... I like doing tandems... I jsut would rather be "fun" jumping... I havent taken a "real customer" yet, though... I jsut finished my rating 2 weeks ago, so I have only taken experienced jumpers, but they were all still very fun... I jsut prefer to be flying my canopy and freeflying... I guess once I have a handfull of tandems under my belt Ill be able to give a better idea of what I will do/want to do _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  11. well as soon as the season picks up I willbe doing tandems.. pack here and there (dont want to take away from the regular packers) video as needed, AFF hopefully by the end of the season, and I jsut started a freefly suit company... so yeah,..anything to keep me in the air.. depends on how much you care what you are doing in the air. I would rather freefly and hop and pop/swoop than take a tandem, but when getting paid to do it..kinda makes sense.. _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  12. if we crossdress can we get 10$ tix? _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  13. thanks for the responses. I kinda figured the main reason was for the drag on the lines, but the opening characteristics make sense as well.. it still makes me wonder what kind of designs we arent thinking of (or maybe some are, but arent being used/made/implemented) that could take things yet another step beyond where we are now... _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  14. ok so I am sitting here at work...bored out of my mind, and I was thinking (yeah it hurts a little)... why is it that we see 9 and 7 cell canopies (sure there are 21 and 27 cell tri cell crosbraced canopies, but essentially they are 7 or nine cells), but we dont see 11-13 or higher?? is the 9 cell really the most efficeint skydiving canopy design? would a 11 cell canopy change the aspect ratio and flight characteristics to a less desireable flying machine? I guess this question is kind of for the canopy manufacturers, but if you have any input please feel free to comment. has there been canopies with more than 9 cells? (not speaking of tricell canopies) I have seen 5 cell squares, and I realise that the less amount of cells may produce less desireable flight characteristics, but what about more?... I could understand the idea of having mroe drag due to the possibility of needing more lines as a con, but what are some other cons/ pros? _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  15. shouldnt that read: I am going to chow for sure because I have to do that. ??? _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  16. well... cant say much about that.... sick... simply sick... so when are you going to start blindman swoops? _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  17. oh oh oh I wanna play. I havent been in a recording studio in over 2 years too bad I have to spend all of my extra money on jumps... gotta have your priorities.. cool man. cant wait to hear some _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  18. well mis hollly wooooooo you just need someone to take you out and drag you down a few times.. Ill be there in may _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  19. I land with rears about 95% of my jumps.. (transitioning to toggles about 1/2 to 3/4 the way into the swoop). I dont want to go much into detail...1: what works for me may not work for you, 2: what works for me may not be what I can tell you (since my inturpretation of what I do may not be actually what I do), 3: there are many other more experienced canopy pilots here that can better answer your questions. However, I will say this: I have landed my cf2 (111 loaded at 1.85) in 0 wind without even touching the toggles at all. The stall will come a little faster than on toggles, but it seemed to be a fairly deep stall point in rears compared to some other canopies. I have landed about 30 times without using any toggles at all and have never had a problem with it...(***three taps on wood***) hope that helps in one way shape or form... _________________________________________ this space for rent.
