Thanks Jeff However, I think "pure, condensed awesome" is more fitting of Phoenix-Fly’s “The Need 4 Speed”. I almost got a chubby watching that video!! Our video is more along the lines of "pure, condensed mental retardation" I just hope it made more than a few people chuckle.We were severely hungover on that jump. The more I read the w/s forum threads, the more I wonder if I really have the minimum "requirements" to even jump a wing suit in the same sky as some "heroes" on here. I don't see the point in the "my dick is bigger than yours" debates, nor do I have an opinion on which designer is better or copied most, nor do I care to. I have jumped different brands and different models, and I could care less who came out with x or y design/feature first, seriously what does it matter as long as the manufacturers are trying to improve the design/features and build quality and give us some newer/better toys to fly. I will never be "cool" enough or "hot shit" enough to be given a wing suit or sponsored by any manufacturer, but I wish the ones who are, or think they are, would see that we are all here for the same reason, to have fun and do something very very cool with others who are like minded, regardless of the logo on their suit. I am in the market to buy a new suit very soon, and have been lucky enough to have contacted one of the "cool" people for advice/feedback and she was gracious enough to educate me without any brand bias BS. Until then maybe I will just stay super uncool and jump suits designed and manufactured by a really cool 14 y/o kid who loves the sport as much as I do. Not directed at anyone in particular, just needed to vent my frustration at the negativity felt on here.This sport is far too amazing to possibly turn others off due to it. A 9' bridle with a hesitant pull/release could not wrap around one of his 5 Go Pro's ? less likely yes, but wouldn't the reduced risk of being caught in the burble offset this concern? only asking.... not suggesting, trying to learn.....have been reading the forum on PC in tow mal scenario ..chop then reserve? or straight to reserve?...has me trying to wrap my head around it all. Also very curious about the bridle length concern, if 9' is better than 6', why is 12' not better than 9' for reducing the risk of getting caught in the burble? Could that photo DSE posted not also happen to a 6' or 9' bridle flopping around in the burble? and just for curiosity sake what is the recommended bridle length for base w/s? @ piisfish .... what is a PCA? From a noob perspective, to answer the OP question....I think he should definitely NOT be allowed on the plane....200 jump min, means just that! I feel better now Watching videos of myself in various suits, I always thought "dude why the hell are you arching?!" (you know better!) At pull time I have to admit to being less comfortable than I should be, so therefore I was rushing a bit and not closing the leg but usually being symetrical so it didn't seem to be an issue, and then after watching a video recently of a really good w/s pilot in a yellow suit with a huge ass camera on his head I noticed he wasn't closing his leg wing either......I guess I am not a total idiot after all. Let me start by saying, forgive me if these questions have already been answered/debated in another thread.I am too lazy too search through years of posts, and maybe some answers/opinions have been rethought over the years. 1. I have noticed lately in some videos of very good w/s flyers that they seem to be arching their body instead of (slightly)de-arching (as stated in the only book I have read on wingsuiting as the optimal body position).Could this be due to suit design, or has the consensus on optimal body position been reversed.(and no I am not seeing some one who is trying to get down to another flyer) 2. I have also noticed experienced w/s pilots who are not closing up the leg wing at deployment time with no ill effects(twists).I too have to admit to doing this more than once (rushing/brain fart) and so far consider myself lucky not to have twists or spun up as a result.Is it not a huge issue as long as your pull sequence is fairly quick(as not to go head down) and symmetrical ? Or could it be newer suit design (ie:COG) 3.I hate to ask this one........but.....the whole "legs on your butt" flocking style..... is this not almost necessary for larger flocks to allow the last guy(s) out of the plane(s) to catch the flock? I mean if you have a flock of 20 or so and the lead guy is going all out, wouldn't it be pretty hard to catch, and if you did, you would probably only get there at break off time.Right or wrong?
