    Ipod's

The iPod would be an excellent choice -- not only does it play music, it now plays music videos, and displays pictures. You can even subscribe to Podcasts for free (Skydive Radio is one of those). The best thing -- you can listen to music continuously for at least 15 hours straight on a single battery charge. I have a 1st generation iPod Mini and absolutely love it but the battery only lasts me 4 hours. Two days ago, I ordered the new 60GB iPod. It's slightly thinner than the old one, holds 15000 songs (25000 photos and 150 music videos), and the battery lasts 20 hours! It's worth the investment.
  2. That's absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I ordered my Hot Bod suit 3 days ago and I only had a piece of paper to work with. Your program sure would've come in handy. But I think I did alright cuz when I tried your program, my design came out looking nice. I think you have it right.
  3. happy birth day PEEJ!!! *kisses to the birthday boy*
  4. this is exactly what my AFF instructor told/taught me. it works!!! and i'm only 99 pounds flying a canopy bigger than most log cabins!!!
  5. currently in Doha, Qatar... ramadan started here today and the government had issued a decree that ALL food establishments be close from sunset to sundown to respect those who observe ramadan. but all grocery stores are open (hello?). i went to the mall this afternoon and found 95% of the stores closed until 4:30pm. bummer. no food/drink from sunrise to sunset. no booze available ANYWHERE for one whole month. i wanna go home!!!
  6. i won, i won, I WON!!! FREE JUMP!!!
  7. VIRTUAL LOFT (I kinda like CYBER LOFT but you don't like the word Cyber.)
  8. actually, i'm also curious as to who has kept a bed buddy while married. and why.
  9. sorry, there is NO dz in egypt. the closest one is in dubai. there's a member here called IMMANENCE who lives in egypt. send him a PM. anyway, spend the $500 to get to dubai and jump here: http://www.uaqaeroclub.com/index2.htm
  10. register your number (or any number) with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY list. here's the link: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
  11. PocketMac to use/sync with Apple (Mac OSX)
  12. just got back from seeing a chiropractor -- boy, what a relief! all the pressure is gone from the entire spine and tail bone, although i was told that the tailbone will be sore for a while. my entire sacrum and hip bones were affected by my stupidity: next time PLF, PLF, PLF!!!
  13. i couldn't get any of my friends and family to do it either so i went by myself. i didn't even do a tandem. i went straight to AFF! if they only know what they're missing...
  14. i think i remember seeing the entire thing on the Adrenaline Rush dvd. they even created the parachute and tested it... it worked!!!
  15. no dz in egypt. the closest one is in dubai at the uaq aeroclub. http://www.uaqaeroclub.com/ch.htm the link on the dropzone.com site doesn't work so use the one above. might be worth your time to visit dubai which is the most amazing city on earth. roundtrip airfare from cairo will set you back around USD$500. hotels are cheap, though. and so is the food. post pictures if you do go, alright?
  16. You're right. I checked into it and found that the price of falafel sandwiches has gone up. Probably the result of a Muslim conspiracy to overcharge the infidels. The bad news is that the sandwiches will probably cost $4.00. The good news is that we get to buy a better gun and more ammunition so we can maintain the all-important 10:1 spending ratio. Walt no, no, you were right the first time... i was just in the middle east 4 months ago -- got 2 (yes, TWO) falafel/shawarma sandwiches for USD$2.00 and included a bottle of water. so in actuality, it's one buck apiece!!! p.s. got them at Afifa Restaurant in Dubai
  17. i like it without (p.s. my aunt is an eye doctor in Lawrence!!!)
  18. ooooh, i know what you mean. my jm gets a kick of announcing to everyone that i'm 5 feet tall and 99 pounds. (don't get me wrong, though, i do enjoy the special attention/treatment!) and he keeps reminding me to eat, eat, eat before arriving just to add more weight. last week during my level 3, my fall rate was 100mph. the next jump got better at 114. he hasn't mentioned anything about wearing weights although he said my fall rate will improve as i become more experienced.
  19. oh that is sooooo true -- it gets better and better. i'll be doing level 4 and 5 this coming weekend and i can't wait. i did level 3 last week and had the honor to be on the same load as the US Army Airborne. it was a beautiful sight seeing all these all black jumpsuits and canopies of black and grey. and during sunset, too! btw, level 1 was also my very first jump.
  20. That doesn't count. I think a stick of gum is around $60 in Japan. no, but an apple costs $10 and a watermelon costs $30. been there several times. it's cheaper for them to do everything elsewhere.
  21. check out DUBAI (United Arab Emirates) -- it's one of my dreams to skydive at the UAQ Aeroclub http://www.uaqaeroclub.com/index2.htm imagine seeing nothing but blue seas and pink dessert sand from 14,000 feet!!! dubai is the nyc of the middle east except there is no crime and the people are so friendly. i'm saving major $$$ to go there next year. we should meet up there!
  22. been a rescue scuba diver for 13 years and always had skydiving in the back of my mind ever since. then, found out a friend has been jumping for two years now so i said, hmmmm maybe it's time? then a month ago, i was out of the country and watching tv with my 10-yr old brother. nothing good was on except a re-run of Amazing Race. the episode: they had to get to this place in the dessert in Dubai and they could either take an SUV to do some sand duning or take a tandem jump. i looked at my brother and said: "we have to do that!!!!" Dubai DZ: you see nothing but blue ocean and pink sand from 14,000 feet. now what else is cooler than that??? so, came back to the US two weeks ago and signed myself up for my very first jump: AFF Level 1.
  23. bwahahahahahaha!!!!! that was too funny!
