Sweet! That's nice to know. Thanks..

There's a great movie floating around the internet about why men shouldn't skydive naked. Guy's tool is flapping around wildly!! It's a pretty funny scene. I'd probably do it...

Funny thread. Brings back memories from when I was probably about 8 or 9. Under Siege with Steven Seagal, there's a scene where "Miss July '89" jumps out of a big fake cake and starts stripping. I was a very excited 9 year old To this day I still think they were some of the best tits I've seen in a movie. The movie Hostel that is in theaters now has a few sets of really nice titties, as well. Highly recommended

Hey, at least the guy only had a broken arm and didn't die. The dream could've taken a bad turn but it stayed pretty much OK. I've had weird skydiving dreams. Dreamt I was doing a BASE jump, and by the time I went to pull my pilot chute I was on the ground, landed right on my feet. Woke up thinking "what the fuck?!?". Had another dream where I had a malfunction with my main and by the time I pulled my reserve I was at about 50ft. Pulled the reserve, it inflated a few feet from the ground and I was fine. Funny that the guy I was jumping with in the dream didn't seem to think much of it. I just have fucked up dreams in general, so your dream doesn't seem too strange to me!

Oh I love beer of all kinds, but Corona is just amazing. Combined with a lime, it just doesn't get much better. Plus you can drink a whole bunch of them really easily
-
LOL You guys are terrible

Thanks everyone for the information. In reality, I could buy brand new with cash, it's just a big chunk of change to drop at once. I feel like I could buy a decent used car for that amount. But then again, I already have a car that works just fine and should last a while. Thanks again!

"MasterCard, Visa and Discover also offer payment plans. " That's what I was afraid of

What a GREAT article! Awesome stuff. Highly recommended!

I was wondering if there are any dealers that offer a payment plan for a new rig. Makes sense that they would, but also makes sense why they wouldn't. Anyone ever hear of someone that was offering this kind of deal?
-
Corona with a lime, but I'm not very picky, especially if it's for free
-
Good to hear that you are coming back! Why was it that you decided to quit in the first place?
-
It may just be because I'm a newbie, but if I have to use my reserve for any reason, personal fuck-up or gear malfunction, it's a canopy over my head and the means to get me to the ground safely. That's the only thing that matters to me. Perhaps you could've done things differently, but the important thing is that you are still here and not just a memory. You learn something new every day. Instead of dwelling on it, apply the knowledge you gained when you have another similar experience. Blue Skies bro.

I also give a shit. Maybe two, even. That's a great accomplishment, major props to ya, bro. Here's to 7 more.. Blue Skies, Ed!

USPS Priority Mail is another option. It will cost you in the $40 range, but it will get there in 3 days without a problem. Putting it in a Tupperware or Rubbermaid container is a great idea before putting it in the box that it will be shipped in. I just prefer USPS over any other kind of shipping. I've had problems with FedEx and Airborne, UPS just takes way too long and will leave things outside. USPS is the way to go, IMO.

As a student, I can totally understand you being excited about this! I can only hope that I can maintain my composure when this happens to me for the first time. Keep up the good work, man. Blue Skies

I searched around on here to make sure that I wasn't being a broken record, but couldn't find this nowhere: http://www.youtube.com/?v=pY1E3eETp5o Craziness!!!

Wow, that is great! I hope you're going to take advantage of that. Have fun man.

1.) Get my A License 2.) Buy a nice Wings rig 3.) Make 50 jumps by the end of the season 4.) ATTEMPT to sitfly 5.) Be safe 6.) Convince some friends to at least come down to the DZ and make a tandem or SOMETHING. :)

Very nice. I'm sure you'll have a blast with it! Best of luck and Blue Skies.

LOL No, it really doesn't bother me. It will keep me entertained for a while, and is sure to get lots of ooohs and ahhhhs from guests. And when I start jumping regularly, I can tell all my buddies that I bought my first rig for $350! I'm sure the looks I get will be worth the money
-
I really appreciate all of the information, guys. Like I said, I know the rig is old and it's not something I plan on jumping, more of a collectible to feed the hunger for jumping. The gentlemen who sold the rig said that the maximum weight on the main is 200lbs. He didn't give a specific size number. I think he knew that whoever would be buying the rig would be doing so for collectible purposes, but he swears he has jumped it as recently as 2 years ago and that it flew great! Since we're here already, how difficult would it be for a novice to remove the canopies to clean the container and assemble it to at least make it look like a packed up rig? Display purposes, guys, display purposes! Thanks again, y'all.

Hey guys... I was looking for some information on this rig. I know it's an older rig, but it has been flown as recently as 2 years ago and supposedly flew great for all 24 jumps that the seller managed to get in for the season. The rig was also jumped by Ron Green at Nationals. Here's what the seller said: "It is manufactured by Para-Flite and has a 5 cell square main and a Safety Star Reserve with a unique rip cord deployment which I like for it's dependability." I bought the rig mainly out of curiousity. Before the bashing begins, please, we are all adults here. I have absolutely no intentions on jumping the rig. I got it for $350 and figured if anything, I could sell it for parts at a later date. I just want to look over it, see how things work, display it in my house etc. I'm just looking to see if anyone knows anything else about the rig that may be of interest. Thanks all. Have a great Holiday weekend and a Happy New Year!

What about Flyaway Indoor Skydiving in Las Vegas? I never see this mentioned in Wind Tunnel threads - is it not considered to be one? Sorry to break topic. Just so I can somewhat stay on key here, I think these will be around for a while. People that don't have the balls to make a real jump are far more likely to give this a try. The closest thing to human flight.. besides actual skydiving

More "great" skydiving publicity on cnn.com
MagicGuy replied to Spatula's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've been hearing about this for the past two days. What really sucks is that the local news here (Rhode Island) started the story by saying her chute didn't open. Umm, duh?!? Her fucking chute was most certainly open above her head. Twisted a little, yes, but the news story said "A skydiver survives a 10,000 foot drop after her parachute fails to open". Idiots...
