The 229 is a great piece, I own a 239 in 9mm and prefer it to the 229 for daily carry. I'd much rather have it in .40, but for the deal I got on it, I couldn't pass it up. .357 Sig is an awesome caliber btw. Accurate, and highly efficient at stopping thin skinned varmints! Greg

Hey Dave, did you mean IDPA, or IPSC?? Just for general info here, the .40 S&W surpasses the .45 in terminal ballistics, and is nearly even with the .357 mag in the most effective loads (such as the 155 gr. GDHP). It may actually surpass the .357 in "stopping power" eventually, depending on advances in projectile design and manufacture. For my money you can't beat a G23 for everyday carry. The Kar P40 is also a favorite for those days when I'm only wearing a t-shirt.

A friend gave me a kit awhile back but I haven't tried it yet. He only lives a couple miles away and has a keg fridge in his garage that always has a 1/2 keg of Sierra Nevada in it. When it runs low, 1/2 dozen of us kick in and get another one. He makes some really good pale ale's himself, and last year he brewed a killer N/A pale ale for a non drinking buddy. No way you could tell the diff till you had 6 or 8 and weren't drunk! Greg

Our plaques are very specific, well researched, and registered with the state they're placed in. They are, in essence, preserved in time because they can't even be moved without the states permission. BTW...what happened in 1877, and where. I may want to plaque it. G.

O.k., so to explain a bit here, ECV is a historical organization that I belong to. We place historical plaques in conjunction with state historical societies, and until I started jumping again I was very active with my chapter. The "ZZ" part is due to the fact that until about a year ago, I had a beard to my waist (for nearly 18 years, btw), and am still known to everyone as ZZ, even those who don't know my real name. Since I am now mostly just warped from hanging around you buncha freaks, and "warped" more accurately reflects who (or what) I am, should I change my screen name to that? Be gentle with me, I'm warped, not insensitive. Greg
