Well, believe what you want. The primary non-agricultural employer in Twin Falls, Idaho has just layed-off half of their employees because GM and Chysler cancelled their orders with them. I'm visiting my mother right now in Tennessee. 4 auto industry suppliers in the area have either idled their plants or had massive lay-offs because the big 3 cancelled orders. People can't seem to understand that if the big 3 go under, they're going to take all of their suppliers out with them. Then when there's not enough consumers to purchase products in the local economies. The small businesses are going to suffer. I could go on and on . But what's the point. Hmmm, well depending on whom you listen to. The Iraq war has already cost more than WW II did worldwide. We've supposedly already sunk over $300 billion into it. I started this thread so that some of us could various speciakty weapons systems. We were discussing M79/M203 grenade launchers while hijacking a home defense thread. Unless you live in Somalia, grenade launchers have very little to do with home drfense. Coincidentally, the M203 system is available for civilian purchase, provided you purchase the tax stamp. During Vietnam, since the infrantry then was using the M-79 as an actual weapon system, I'd say mainly HP and WP. Purely speculation of course. Now for side B. Post-Vietnam infrantry.Sometime between Vietnam and Grenada around the time the M203 was introduced, some higher-up in a smoke filled control room decided the M203 should only be used as a squad leader's weapon so they could launch smoke and flares. There was also talk that the quadrant sight was fragile and didn't hold up well in the field. So unless someone got their head screwed on straight since the gulf war.
