Hello everyone. Just thought I'd let you freeflyers know that the Team Dirty Sanchez Luau at Skydive Sebastian March 5-7 is going to have a large hybrid attempt.2 Otters worth. Contact Lyle Presse at Sebastian as he is organizing with Luis Prento. I hear rumors that the Luau will have the FEATURE article in the May issue of Parchutist. Can you say photo op? I think that is something better explained by Denis. Spoke with him tonight, still pretty much in pain. But all he wanted to do was work on the Luau plans. Thanks Kevin for your contribution. I recently bought a digital Sony Handycam SR65 40G digital camera. I have heard they aren't that good for skydiving? Does anyone know if this is true or do you have any experience with them? Congratulations on your first jump and I hope you continue on !! But remember your a skydiver even with one tandem and you get it now. Jumping is fun as hell for sure, but the people I've met and the friends I have now because of skydiving to me is the best part. A memorial embroidered cloth to be framed in memory of Dave Lambert has been setup by Barton Anderson from Skydive Space Center. It is making the rounds from SSC, to Deland, to Sebastian. It is my honor to bring it to Deland beginning this Sunday August 17. Any and all who knew him are invited to leave their message and license number signed in sharpie on the cloth. Hi, Good luck on your A. The SIM is a great tool to study up for whatever license you're going for. And if your not sure about something just ask. If it's at your local DZ or here on dropzone the cool thing about skydiver's is there is always someone to help without criticism because we've all been there. Welcome to the addicted. I myself picked up skydiving in 2004 due to a change of attitude after losing some family and friends. Since then I've jumped accross the country and met some amazing and genuinely friendly people. That is the great side of skydiving. Hi and congratulations on your choice to jump. Remember it's your "choice". I did my first tandem in 2005, took AFF in 2006 and have been jumping ever since. I was hooked from the moment we summersaulted three times out the door of that King Air. Yeah it's natural to be scared, but trust me the rewards are well worth the anxiety. I'm sure you'll have a great time, and get it on video if you can. Have a great jump !!! Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.

I came up on business in October and drove out for a jump. From the minute I walked in the hangar everyone was friendly and helpful. Although they were jumping alot of tandems I had no trouble getting on a load. And they actually seemed to really care about the regular fun jumpers. The manifest staff was well organized and courteous which we all know can be tough when things are busy. The calls for loads were prompt and accurate too. Had a great jump, bought a T-shirt and hung out and chatted with some cool folks. Next time I'm in the area on business I will definitely be back. It's in the middle of nowhere and runs the way a DZ should be, introducing new people to tandem, but taking care of the skydivers too. Worth the trip.

Hey Hey, I'm just pretty pumped from some great RW jumps today with my bud's at Skydive Space Center in FL, and I just have to say I did my 200th and 201st jump from 15,000K King Air style. BEEEEEEEER !!!! Everyone have one on me. Blue skies !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Just not much today...) Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.

When I woke up this morning I heard the terrible news on CNN of the tragic accident in Washington. One can only hope maybe some got out. My heart goes out to the families and friends of those who have now gone to the blue sky, they are free. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.

Hi Newbie, First off, welcome to the club. You should already be proud of what you have accomplished thus far and remember always that your not like everyone else, your a skydiver. Everyone has had their own difficulties learning to jump, but stick with it, get some help from those at your DZ whether it be an instructor or a coach. My problem area was my exit. But I kept at it, got some help, and now I can exit any way without flailing, and the fear is gone of not being in complete control. On the difficult pull, you may have had one. One thing I do when I do my gear check before I jump each time is pull my pilot chute out a little carefully with two fingers only. It should slide out like a little burrito easily. I slide it back in carefully and re-check that there is no exposed bridle. You may want to consult your rigger if it is your gear because there may be an issue with your BOC (bottom of container) pouch or whatever type pouch you have. Anyway I hope that helps some, and stick to it, it'll come. Skydivers help skydivers. That comraderie, and skydiving, what could be better. Sounds like your just like myself when I began skydiving. You sound like you are a detailed type person. You said your're not sure what you remember but you remember it all. You just don't have anything to process it against. Trust. Trusting your instructor. AFF is for you. Then that "trust" will get modified by your new experiences at each AFF level. Experience gains trust, but seek out that knowledgeable instruction, it is worth it. Don't get comlacent, don't rush the packing, enjoy the brotherhood/sisterhood of skydiving, and get in on some group jumps. You won't be disapointed. If you think a tandem is cool, and it is, I still do it, then solo will change your life. It did mine. Blue skies. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.

I was just up in Albany on business about a month ago and I drove down to The Ranch. I wasn't there 5 minutes before one of the staff came up to me and started talking with me. Everyone is genuine and friendly. Sonic in the Pro Shop, and Carol whom I met through my AFF instructor Dean. In the middle of nowhere outside this hippie town New Palz. Definitely worth the trip. Skydiving, and skydiving people. Just cool. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
