Anyone remember this rag from the early to mid seventies! ive got a fold out of the Wings of Orange logo...IN Color!! I never could wait for my copy to arrive.I guess the closest thing to it is skydiving mag.

Yall remember this guy? he was a fixture at meets and gatherings in the seventies.Anyone know what ever happened to him?I always remember him being WAY COOL.I still have trinkets that I bought off him.

Not long after Bill Booth came out with the wonderhog,Herbie Graves was making the Herbiehog. The pilot chute pouch was on the right riser. It was convenient to pull, and you could cutaway a horseshoe!I had one of the first ones, with a paradactyl inside. Were having fun now!The cutaway system was the Herbie threes. All of this stuff was TSOed ( I think)Thanks Bill for the hand deploy and the three ring...You revolutionized the sport!!

How do you jump with skydivers smoke (smoke cans)?
jaymundo replied to drenaline's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dont do like I did and read"hand held smoke"on the cannister, and proceed to duct tape to your leg on a water demo. When I finally hit the water it went shssssssssss!Third degree burns are a bitch!.Yea you can wave it around in your yard but when it gets in freefall.......note....duct tape dosent tear too easy and this coonass was trying! -
I had a Spectre 170 and didn't like the snibble, so I got the sabre 2 150. Yall have outdone yourselves again. Everything the others have said is true. The opening is great and unstressful now, with a really fun ride and tiptoe landing. Thanks! I will highly recomend it. UPdate...I got rid of it because of hard right turn on openings. The last one was line twists upside down......mfg says its "body position" Whatever.......

The only person I saw die from falling out, didnt have the chest strap fastened. It was under the lift web and flapping where she didnt detect it.The person with her on the jump was with full face helmet and she probably didnt see any alarm on his face(conjecture).Nylon jumpsuit, nylon legstraps...no friction....freefall W/o rig at 5000'.NEXT day I brought my javelin to a tarp shop and had my strap folded back and sewn. You wont see this coonass near a plane with unfastened cheststrap

Hi yall!!Im proud to have been in this sport since 1972,when everything was evolving.I was fortunate to be on many of the state records for the gulf coast during the seventies.Taking a ten year break while learning another sport,I have 1800+ jumps.i get in about 50 per year now,and appreciate every one.At 52 many, many of my friends have left the sport.I really believe that skydiving keeps me young and in good shape.THANKS to all skydivers for keeping my NEED for freefall in my mind always.

I traded in a brand new sabre[;2 150 for a PD 170 and I really like it.I weigh 175 with gear.It is flat packed with a couple of rolls at the nose.Opens a little fast,BUT I dont get the diiiiiving right turn on opening and the line twists that I was getting with the sabre.I dont swoop...just park it and it s a one foot landing.I really liked flying the sabre 2 but found myself gunshy to jump cause of the openings.

The pc was a great high performance canopy in the early seventies.I have about 200 on one.rear riser and let em upslow on touchdown. The paradactyl was scary to me but jumped one for a while. You cant turn fast with them and were terrible in turbs. My PC had at least thirty tape patches over holes.

Talk about service...They called me twice about sizes....and next dayed me a swatch of tourq material to match my rig.The lady said that mismatched tourq really sucks.I was impressed with her care of how it was going to look.

I had the same thing today at moss point. There were four twists which I was able to unwind. Its a new sabre 2 150 and it was really spinning. Some reliable sources said I should have chopped it.I dumped at 4000 so I felt I had a little time.Have experience with many canopies from 28 ft rounds to paradactyls but this was a real surprise and a wake up call to how fast this new shit can get squirrly.CHOP or NO CHOP yall

I stow my excess through the connector link and back down to the top keeper tab.I havent had any problems yet, although some people dont like the way it looks.I had a packer that left it hanging, and I had it knot around the whole toggle.had to use two hands to free it.The elastic keeper sounds good, please advise so I can have this done.Sunpath dosent address this in thier outdated owners manual. My packers dont like the way I do it,so they insist that I stow the brakes....This makes me nervous

Thanks yall,I will file this feedback and use it while under canopy.I just downsized to 1.56 and want to do things right.I skydive on the gulf coast where its fairly windy. The pd170 had me unable to fight the wind,so I went to the sabre2 150 and its been great. Thanks again

How in the hell did she induce line twists by turning her canopy.I havent had my sabre2 150 even come close to doing this by honking down on a toggle? speaking of the girl in the fatality section of parachutist.

Anybody got any feedback on the dual raptor belley mount?anyone?anyone?...........thanks
-
The owners manual for javelins dont address the stowing of extra brakeline on the newer rigs that have keepers.I have been routing through the connector link and back down to the top keeper.A couple of packers have shown dislike of this but cant really say why...........advise please
