  1. www.thinksecret.com is the most reliable rumor site. http://buyersguide.macrumors.com gives you a good sense of when products were updated. If you purchase a product and a new product is released within 14 days, you are entitled to the exchange of the old product for the new one. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  2. How's the tootsies taste there? ltdiver Chewy and delicious. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  3. I'm gonna turn bright red, put my foot in my mouth and apologize [right through my foot] if this is the case. I assumed that the original poster was referring to this Proof. I've seen too many people on too many forums make blatant requests for pirated movies to assume that this was anything different. [prepares foot] I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  4. You go to a movie theater and pay money for a ticket. When it comes out on DVD in several months, you pay money and buy it. Movies aren't free to make and they aren't free to view. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  5. Exactly. Just wanted to make sure that this is what people got from my post. The Skyhook is no different than any other lifesaving device that we use. If it isn't packed properly, it will fail and you may die. Is the Skyhook more likely to be packed incorrectly? Perhaps out of the fact that not as many people have packed one before... but it's like anything else. If you know how to do it, it's easy. If you don't, it's too complicated. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  6. If a reserve isn't packed right, it won't work at all. If a main isn't packed right, it won't work at all. If your car isn't put together right, it won't work at all. If a Skyhook isn't packed right, it won't work at all. I dunno. The Skyhook seems pretty groovy to me, but I don't know jack. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  7. I think they shut it down for a few hours in the middle of the day for the sake of power consumption or heat... not sure which. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  8. They dip around 200 in the classifieds every now and then. That's about it. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  9. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  10. Does anybody have video of the incident? I'd love to see the landing in motion. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I want some free skydiving/BASE jumping images too, but just as desktop photos. 640x480 images look like garbage on a 1920x1200 screen. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  12. I did my first solo and tried to sit fly for about 10 seconds. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  13. I've been told it's a good idea to stick with a mechanical altimeter before going to a digital altimeter which could potentially fail in freefall. The logic was that after enough jumps, you can tell your altitude by looking at the ground. If your digital altimeter fails on jump 10, you're either in for a 20 minute canopy ride or people angry at you for going low. Then again, the newer version of the Neptune firmware has proven itself to be quite reliable. I'd think that keeping up on battery replacement would solve any potential crap-outs, but you never know. I want a Neptune, but I'd rather pay $70 for a used mechanical alti at this point. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  14. Goodbye and welcome. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  15. At least a frap hat will add a little padding from the impact. A bloody nose beats having the lights go out. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  16. Generally you only do a "controllability check" after the canopy has passed a few initial tests. For me, those tests were shape, no spin and float. If the canopy looked like a canopy, if it wasn't spinning and if it felt like I was floating rather than falling. A line-over fails the "shape" test, so it's a bad canopy. Double check with your instructors on this one. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  17. I went 8 for 8, but I truly believe that only happened because of my tunnel time. The confidence I felt in the air on level 4+ was not even close to present on level 3. I was bobbing all over the place when my JM freearmed me on 3. So if there's a tunnel nearby... I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  18. I've only had three diving and two floating exits at this point, so I can't really chime in on how to solve any fear. For some reason, I just love having the plane as a "static" point in space. Be it sticking my head out the door, sitting next to the door on the way to altitude, hanging on outside the door before exiting or diving and watching the plane go away... it just breaks down that mental wall for me. 99% of the times I've been on a plane in my life, I've landed in that plane. There's always this separation between what's going on inside the plane and what's going on outside. Obviously on a commercial jet, that's the way it has to be. Being able to stick my head [or my whole body] out of the plane shatters that mental barrier and I love the feeling. I graduated AFF today and did my first solo. Just for kicks, I decided to do a diving exit and didn't try to get stable. I let the wind whip me around into whichever position was the most natural. After about a second, I ended up in a limp back track and just watched the plane fly away. After all, what's the worst thing that could happen? You could fall out. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  19. By laying down on a creeper Change to vertical is not simulated. Students stand in a harness with all handles in the appropriate locations. They pull and a picture of a problem or mal is held in front of them. They take the appropriate action in the rig. Pull forces are not simulated... the handles are attached with old velcro. There is no back-to-freefall simulation. The D handle is in its pocket with old velcro. Nothing else is simulated. The harnesses that students stand in have toggles which are attached to weights. It's not. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  20. Had me actually laugh. I want it! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  21. There's a good video on SkydivingMovies of a cliff BASE in which the jumper has a line over. It wasn't spinning [thankfully] so he managed to get out his hook knife and cut the offending line. He biffed the landing but was completely uninjured. It gives an interesting angle on seeing the canopy choked by a line and instantly regain its composure when the line is cut. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  22. What does the water training entail? [if this is a diversion, ignore it] I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  23. Odds are you would probably say a whole bunch of bad words Bad words... or more of a crunching sound? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  24. It's most likely poor audio compression causing audible artifacts that you're hearing.. AVI is perhaps the least compatible mainstream container format, so it could also be a read related issue. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  25. I can't tell from the pictures, but isn't it generally a steering line that causes a line over? Wouldn't flaring pinch down on the canopy more, causing it to lose air? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
