  1. I'd love to see the plots, I've been considering a pair of Pantz. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  2. Post some pictures when you get it... I haven't been able to find any of a decent size and nobody I've met at my DZ has one for me to check out. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

    Pin Rigs Suck!

Hey, I do that even when BASE jumping...well I have been recently at least. I just want to see a BASE RW 4 way turn some points. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  5. I was fiddling around with my tracking on a solo today and tried this to see what it felt like. I dearched my hips a little and brought my shoulders down as if I were trying to cup some air beneath me while tracking. I didn't have a point of reference to tell whether I sped up forwards or down, but something happened. I did it twice in the dive and both times my lips and cheeks started flapping around like a dog with his head out the window of a car. So I guess I sped up... just don't know whether it was forwards or down. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  6. Think any of them will be sober enough to put the footage online tonight? The sight and sound of ~120 canopies opening simultaneously overhead is a really remarkable one. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  7. Just got back from Perris, glad to have been able to witness the jump. Fantastic that they got it!!!
  8. I hadn't heard of this container until I read this thread. A quick rummage through the classifieds found complete systems with CYPRES for
  9. Oh, did I miss that in your post? It's always best to be clear when giving advise to anyone on this site. Common sense would dictate that prices vary. Common courtesy would dictate that there's no need to be snarky when I clearly meant well. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  10. iDVD will be the fastest and easiest way to make a professional looking DVD. If you have time and really want to make something fantastic, I recommend DVD Studio Pro 4. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  11. I was just giving the prices that it's going to cost me at my DZ. Obviously this varies. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  13. I call mine a "gear check" I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  14. That was the point of my noting it... a reserve handle pull can't be that hard if breaking a tiny piece of thread is the hardest part. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  15. No, I understood all of that. I was merely making a regrettably asinine post about the interpretation of "wingsuit terminal." Wingsuit terminal could be interpreted as wings out [40-60mph vertical] or wings in [120+mph vertical]. The former would not set off the AAD, the latter would. I'm probably still making a fool of myself. I love teh intarweb. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  16. Not in a controlled environment. It's just a metal loop velcro'd into a pocket. When you pull, you're pulling a metal cable through a metal housing. The hardest part about pulling it is breaking the super thin rigger's thread. Now think about it when you're in the air. You're 15 seconds from going in and you're probably spinning. Centrifugal force may be pulling your arms from your chest and your handle may be everywhere. You finally get your hands on it and that velcro's not going to be the easiest thing you've ever worked on. After all, the velcro pocket has only been opened about 5 times... ever. The adrenaline should take care of all of that... just make sure you're pulling on the right thing. That's how it was explained to me. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  17. No I didn't, I was merely being a buffoon. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  18. I'm sure at wingsuit terminal you could set off the AAD [wings collapsed]. But at normal flying speed... bounce. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

    Emergency Base Jump

Ah yes, my favorite. guess what? even though F-111, ( a nylon brand / marketing designation), is no longer made, it's porosity specification was 0 - 3 cfm. 0 as in zero porosity. Now manufacturers create a fabric simply known as 0-3 cfm ripstop nylon. then they treat it so that it becomes what most people call zp fabric. newer / better / lighter / less bulky fabric now being manufactured and is on the way if you are willing to spend the $$$$$$$ isn't learning wonderful? be safe kleggo I was actually wondering if there was some ZP F-111 when I made that post... glad to get an answer. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

    Emergency Base Jump

Has anybody ever seen the emergency escape system on the Space Shuttle? It has a huge pole that extends about 20 feet clear of the body. Should the astronauts need to get out of the shuttle before landing, they clip themselves onto this pole and jump out. The relative wind and gravity work to pull them out the pole and release them clear of the wings and stabilizers. I think that using a BASE rig as an emergency escape device from a building is ridiculous [at least to any and all un-trained jumpers], but the pole idea is still interesting to me. Stuff's going down in the building. You pull your rig on and hit a button. The window shatters and a 20 foot curved pole sticks out the window. Hook yourself onto it and jump out. It carries you clear of the building and deploys your parachute as soon as you reach the end of the pole. Eh. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  23. Be very careful skydiving while pregnant. A friend of mine went on a tandem [whuffo] about 4 weeks after she found out she was pregnant. She miscarried that night. That's not to say that the abrupt opening necessarily did it -- frankly, it could've been completely unrelated. Better safe than sorry, of course. But afterwards? Go for it! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  24. How's the tootsies taste there? ltdiver Chewy and delicious. Careful there. People might think you have a foot fettish.... ltdiver I don't, I'm just naturally hilarious. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  25. Do tell... I'd love to demo one before I buy one. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
