  1. [searches for "cool s"] Phooey. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

    When is a B a B?

Well, it's not an A if it's just the framework... and neither E nor S... so I say B. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  3. Whew, crazy pictures. Video? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  4. The CYPRES was introduced in 11/92, correct? What was the status of the swooping discipline at that time? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  5. Bonehead composites makes a mount designed for shoe camera operating. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  6. But looking at flying canopy from the ground on a nice day would have a similar effect... no? Or would it be similar to the cool ethereal glowing effect of a white canopy with brightly colored ribs? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  7. Glad you're ok, good job not dying.
  8. I bet the other $51 is for the USPA membership fee. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  9. "I had my right front tooth broken in a freefall collision... " You don't see to many freefall collisions on the sidewalk. Sparky Then clearly you aren't walking right. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  10. Straight down? Just admit it... taking a wingsuit into a vertical wind tunnel is a fun trick, nothing more. I think the original quote was with regards to the skipped cutaway loop. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  11. ...you'd have a free jump! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  12. Well, I want to see the video? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  13. [I removed the link just because I want to be sure before I really post it. PM me or email me if it's ok and I'll put the link up] I put up a mirror of the video because of how slow it was going. If this is inappropriate, please tell me and I'll remove it immediately. I'm only doing this to help out with traffic. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  14. Wow, that would make a fantastic desktop picture *cough* I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  15. One every two years, 3,660 reserve rides last year. So there's about a 1/7,000 or .014% chance of a reserve malfunction. How many jumps are there every year? 3660/total jumps will give a good idea of the main malfunction rate. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  16. We have a 2500 ft limit for square mains, for everyone. Although students are of course supposed to pull higher, the mandatory opening altitude after that doesn't change with your license. Who's "we"? I looked these numbers up in the SIM... though they may be BSRs. Frankly, it's something I'd like to know w/o derailing. [searches] I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  17. Now the real question... what'd it cost? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  18. How far did you make it [horizontally]? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  19. It's kind of unfortunate that that video made it up on that website. It's a whuffo website... one can only imagine what people will post in the comments. I attempted to post the first post of the WFFC incident thread to no avail [it cut me off, making it look like I was claiming to have witnessed the incident -- I obviously didn't]. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  20. If you have the PAL camera that shot the video, you're set. Video editing apps can handle both NTSC and PAL, and format effectively doesn't matter online. Glad to hear you're ok, and hopefully the foot is in good shape. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  21. 480m = 1,574 feet. In the US, all students and A license holders must have their container open by 3,000 feet. B holders by 2,500 and C/D holders by 2,000. I'm not sure of any other countries, I'm just posting it because reading this thread got me curious and made me look it up. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  22. I love the photo. Congratulations, girls! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  23. All good news. Looks like I have me a helmet. Thanks, everybody! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  24. Do you know what the leading cause of death for skydivers is? Car accidents. The second leading cause of death? Heart disease. The third? Cancer. That usually answers the question. It may not be in the correct order [whatever the leading cause of death for anybody... I know the three listed are major but I'm not sure if they're the biggest], but it's effective. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  25. I'm at the point where I need a no-frills noggin' protector and nothing more. I've been demoing a Mindwarp at the DZ, but I'd like to have my own helmet to save me the trouble. Obviously the Pro-Tec Classic Fullcut is the beginner helmet of choice. It's cheap, readily available and functional. I can pick one up from a sporting goods no problem. Now, I already have a helmet from snowboarding. It's a Pro-Tec Freecarve and is obviously quite similar. The only major differences that could potentially effect safety are the lack of hard ear protection and the higher back. The helmet's hard shell doesn't reach as far down towards my neck as a Classic Fullcut would [or the Bonehead, for that matter]. Do you think this helmet would be appropriate to skydive with, or should I just save my pennies and buy a Classic? The helmet works fine with my goggles and fits nice and tight. I just don't know if there's any valid reason to invest in a helmet with more ear [riser strikes?] and back-of-head [no idea?] protection. Thoughts? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
