WSJ is reporting Google to buy You-tube for $1.6 billion
ntrprnr replied to ntrprnr's topic in The Bonfire
But keep in mind, Google has been dealing with copyright infringements since day 1 - google books, google search, google earth, etc. This is just another one. Agreed on the lawsuits, but Google's big enough to just settle, and let the ad revenue take in billions while they do, anyway. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Not bad for a couple of guys who wanted to make an easier way to send their music videos to themselves, huh? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

I should also mention that I smush my cats. This involves picking up a cat and holding in your arms, with their stomach facing you. Then you place your head into their stomach and go "BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB" until they squirm away or until you feel better. It works really, really well. Not as well as running, but well enough. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Hey hey! Thanks! Right now, I'm using stuff that takes much less than that to change my brain chemistry. It's just not working out the way I'd like it to Yup. That's why I run. Fuck-load cheaper, too. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Running. Anything more than six miles changes the chemical makeup of your brain. YMMV, but eithe way, it works. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

OK - not gonna get into a war over this. Like I said, we do what works for us individually. I've just seen study after study show that adding muscle (especially in the core - stomach, back, and legs) helps increase. You're running with a stronger body - what makes you run? Muscle. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Marathoners train in higher altitudes so when they race down in normal conditions, they smoke everyone else. do it up there and you'll increase your lung capacity, and the capacity of your lungs to adequately use oxygen. It's a good thing. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Again, gonna have to disagree. I've dropped about 30 pounds of fat this year, and added about 15 pounds of pure muscle. Went from 29% body fat to just over 18%. The muscle definition has helped tremendously - my half marathon times have come down massively - granted a lot is due to losing weight - but that weight wouldn't have come off had I not increased the fire in my furnace (metabolism) by adding muscle. A few articles on the subject: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-263-266-7522-0,00.html http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-263-266-6714-0,00.html It's all relative, though. You do what feels best for you... For me, though, adding lifting in has helped SO much... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Actually, I disagree on that. A good core, good legs, and a good upper body is a requirement for being a good runner. I'm not saying you have to go all incredible hulk to run, but study after study has shown that one or two days a week of weight training help tremendously when it comes to running. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Those poor summer associates won't know what's coming, but they'll feel like they have to jump to prove their mettle. Tough firm! Don't laugh - that's how I got my very first skydive - I organized WebDive 2000. See the Business Week Article here: http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/aug2000/nf2000088_439.htm?chan=search What's fun now is to look back and see how badly she reported it from a factual perspective. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Actually, mom and dad are totally awesome about it - they're like, "when it happens, it'll happen." It's everyone ELSE who thinks they should know better than me. Mom and dad rock. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

When you're sitting in Temple on the holiest day of the year and the Jewish gossips surround you because you're one of a few single eligible bachelors left, and they all ask why you're not married and pumping out kids, and what you're doing with yourself, etc... "Oh, in my spare time, I'm a licensed skydiver," buys you a LOT of room in Temple. Of course, mom and dad have already called... "You told the Rabbi's WIFE THAT YOU SKYDIVE? What the hell is wrong with you?" Hee hee hee... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

For a couch to 5k program, if you're training more than 60 minutes at a time, you're vastly underestimating how much you can do. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
