  1. I'd disagree - I keep it in my bag all the time - It's my point and shoot go to camera - I can keep it on auto and always grab whatever's happening - the idiot at the TSA line, the car crash, whatever. But a few twists, and I can also set up awesome shots of whatever. For me, it's about versatility. Yes, there are cameras less "professional," and tons that are more, too - but why limit? If they only use it for point and shoot, awesome, it'll never fail them. But what if they one day want to do more? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 6. Let's assume I have a lot of time to kill, as well as some new-found discretionary income. Let's assume that I have 206 jumps, and still relatively suck, mostly because I spend the majority of my time working and not jumping. Now let's say I wanted to take three or four days and just get better - And go to the tunnel and do such a thing. What would one do to do that? Get a coach? Specific drills? I'd like to get better, and I have the time to go do that - I figure I can do it a lot better in the tunnel than I can in the air. So with that - Any thoughts? Thanks, guys. Happy 4th. -Peter _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  7. Had iTunes on random tonight, and it played "My Vision" by Seal. In 2005, when I was going for my "A," and downloading every video available on skydivingmovies.com, there was a video done by some college skydiving team in Europe, I think. This was the song they played in the background. No matter when I hear it, I always think back to their video, and that wide-eyed mentality I had about skydiving. Still have it, just a little less. Lost that video along the way - Wish I had it back - I'm on a Mac now - If I ever find it again, I promise not to lose it... But that song will always do it for me. What's the one song that absolutely positively reminds you of either skydiving, your first jumps, or similar? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 8. I'm sorry to say it, but it doesn't sound like there's any reason to believe it'll get better. Go to silver. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  11. I'm doing the Buffalo Springs, Texas Half Ironman this Sunday in Buffalo Springs. Closest town, Lubbock. It's gonna be about 100 degrees. I've got no support crew. Anyone wanna come out and be my friend? I'll buy you dinner Sunday night. Assuming I don't die. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  13. So I was flying from NYC--SEA today for a speech I have to give tomorrow. Got an email from someone (quasi-friend, more like a FB friend) who implied that I better be giving one hell of a lot of money to offset my carbon footprint (biz travel between 200k and 300k per year.) I shot back that we were probably about even, since I live in NYC, and the car I lease has less than 13,000 miles on it in the past 2.5 years, he lives in CA and drives down the street for milk. All other factors being even, should I simply tell him to STFU? And even more, that plane would still fly whether I was on it or not, right? (That's the bigger question for the fight... The plane would still fly - I wouldn't be able to get there to give my speech, someone else would, why should I give up the opportunity to make money so someone else can?) Thoughts? -Peter - from a hotel room. In Seattle. Which I flew to. But took the Link to get to from the airport. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 14. I did butter my buns for my ride. It was glorious Show us the video, or it didn't happen. Speaking of which: I dont understand guys who dont like to be passed by girls in the pack.. I'd much rather follow a cute bike-chick than an ugly man-beast! lol That's how I run every running race. Find the girl just a tad faster than me with the hot ass, and just go. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  20. I just had a bunch of these made up to give away at conferences and speeches. If you haven't heard of a Poken - http://www.doyoupoken.com - , check them out. Totally love how they turned it into a skydiver for me. :) I have no relationship to them other than I think they're cool. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 21. Discussed countless times on the boards, you can do a search. He flipped through his risers to show off. Foot got stuck. When he cut away, didn't clear all the way due to stuck foot. He popped his reserve which flew up into the ball of shit, thereby causing his to have to fight for his life to get the reserve to open. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 25. The Playboy one moved in to Heff's mansion in cal. (hard to compete with that) the one lost to a member of the Outlaws, became a hooker! Last time i saw her she was posing Nude in Easyrider Magazine, (yes I have that copy) ....She looked REALLY road worn by then!
