isn't that the baby's name from willow? it's still cute though i like it and seriously celebrities need to stop having children and giving them awful names - someone mentioned zuma before - apple, coco, suri, birdie, honor, pilot inspector edited to add: some actress chick had twin girls and named them sawyer lucia and cocoa trinity - i swear these parents hate their children "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

I'm sick of all of this crappy news in the past two weeks. For those of you who don't know LeRoi was the saxophonist for Dave Matthew's Band and he was awesome. Though I've grown out of my DMB phase there is no denying they're all super talented musicians - LeRoi was no exception Rest Peacefully "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

so i keep hearing all about molly ringwald's comeback in this show "the secret life of the american teenager" - how it's going to address some serious issues that are going on in the lives of teens - the show already won a teen choice award etc etc i saw commercials for it and thought it was another typical teen drama or whatever - come to find out that one of the lead characters (jack) is one of my best friend's little brother... he had told me he was going to be in an up and coming show and i never put two and two together - it's him - he also does the beef jerky commercial where he slaps bigfoot's ass with a towel and then gets thrown into a lake ugh this crap makes me feel old - he used to eavesdrop on our phone conversations all the time - i've know him since he was about 10 interesting to see how this show turns out for him annnnnnyway ok sorry for the random rant go back to looking at boobies or whatever it is that you were doing "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

zuccini and yellow summer squash recipes- ideas needed!
kenz replied to lightningbugirl's topic in The Bonfire
i was going to say regular zucchini bread - which is absolutely delicious - i know a friend of mine does chocolate zucchini cake and she just takes chocolate cake mimx, follows the box and then adds a cup of zucchini your best bet - go to allrecipes.com they have fantastic recipes, reviews and you can easily do conversions for larger or smaller amounts of servings "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me -
i know it's not holiday cookie time - however i was down at my soon to be sister-in-laws and we were watching sunny anderson's "cooking for real" on the food network (she is AWESOME) and she made these cookies that looked amazing so we decided to try them and holy crap they ROCKED - so i couldn't keep these to myself - they are to die for we didn't add walnuts - the only suggestion i might make would be to soak the peaches like you do raisins before baking - enjoy - and if you have any other great cookie recipes to share go for it :) ---------------------------------------------------- Peaches and Cream Oatmeal Cookies Recipe courtesy Sunny Anderson, 2008 Show: Cooking for Real Episode: Masterpiece Burger 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Pinch salt 1 stick butter, softened 1/4 cup light brown sugar 1/4 cup dark brown sugar 1/4 cup sugar 1 large egg 1 1/2 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup chopped dried peaches 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup white chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees F with the racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Slowly add egg and continue mixing. Slowly add flour mixture, oats, peaches, walnuts, and white chocolate chips. Mix until combined. Line 2 sheet trays with parchment. With wet hands make 20 balls from the dough placing evenly among sheet trays. Press down on cookie dough with palm of your hand to make a flat circle. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden and still a bit tender in the center. Remove from oven and let sit on sheet trays 1 minute. Remove to cooling racks to cool completely. from personal experience - trust your gut - 9 times out of 10 you're not wrong - and DEFINITELY talk to him - if he can't talk to you rationally without getting super snappy and defensive i'd be a little more suspicious - and ask him why he feels the need to be so sneaky about her - if there was nothing wrong he wouldn't hide it from you - that's just my opinion though - there is also a chance that it's nothing - but really the most important thing to do - just talk good luck "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

in my personal opinion i think that was one of the greatest moments in sports history EVER!! watching phelp's face at the finish was priceless too - like mentioned before, those are the moments that the olympics are all about BEYOND well done boys :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

ok i know i'm not making it up - they talked about his show the bernie mac show, charlie's angels and that he was leaving behind a wife and a daughter - i'm just relaying what was on the news - and they showed pictures of Bernie MAC - so i don't know what else to tell you, it's what was on their broadcast this morning - i'm not arguing i'm just telling you i know what i saw - i don't know why they would report it on national news if it didn't happen- however it wouldn't be the first time major networks have screwed stuff up - i hope that you're right and he is responding well, but i'm just saying it said today that he died "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

according to good morning america - they just did a whole segment on his life and career and said that he died from complications from pneumonia apparently he also had some sort of lung disease too "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

After a battle with pneumonia Bernie Mac died I think last night. That's pretty crappy - He's hilarious and always had great timing and relatability in comedy. Rest in Peace - keep them laughing till we all get there. "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

first of all that was absolutely AMAZING - that was one of the most spectacular shows i have ever seen - the drums, the moveable type, the tai chi, the final running of the torch - AWESOME i'm a total dork when it comes to the olympics - i'm super proud of our country, and i get really excited especially for countries that don't have many athletes - what an accomplishment to get that far i will never forget the summer olympics where there was one athlete from an african country (which one has slipped my mind) but he was the first from his nation and he entered as a swimmer... he had no formal training so they gave him his own heat to swim in - the crowd cheered so loudly for him that he thought he won a medal and they showed it right after playing his "heartbreaking story"- holy crap was i waterworks city - i was so excited for him i love hearing stories like that realistically speaking it's the only time our world will ever have "world peace" and it's nice to see, if only for 16 days good luck to all of the athletes and may the best men and women win oh and as far as badminton, table tennis and kayaking are concerned you would be surprised how much skill are actually needed for all of them - i suggest you watch some of them - even if they're only on at 3 in the morning :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

i would straight up tell him it upsets you that he's making more of an effort to spend all his time with her - it's understandable that he'd want to spend time with her, however it also is important that you guys spend time together- i wouldn't jump down his ass and yell cause that will make him put up some serious defensiveness and good luck from that point - but i would just sit him down and let him know what you're thinking - if you're that bothered by it at least try to let him know - maybe he doesnt realize how frustrated your family is - i don't know it's a tough situation cause as the last poster said it is his time - but as his sibling you are entitled to time too good luck "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

this has got to be one of the crappiest things to wake up to hands down - i was fortunate enough to not only see a george carlin show, but i bumped into him on the streets of ny with a few friends, and he seriously was one of the nicest most genuine celebrities i have EVER met - his comedy was great because he always verablized what everyone else was too scared to say - this one sucks - rest peacefully george!
