I'm looking to downsize sometime in the next year and have yet to start demoing any canopies. I'm interested in jumping a Cobalt (Atair Aerodynamics USA) but understand they have piss poor customer service. While talking to a well known and respected dealer he suggested I would be happier with a either a Nitro (High Performance Research) or a Nitron (Precision Aerodynamics). My question is has anyone jumped any of these canopies or know someone who does and could compare them for me. I have already read every review on all three canopies I could find. I'm looking to downsize to a 150 and load it at 1.33:1. I know the Nitro and Nitron are pretty much the same canopy, with the exception of suspension line types, and that the Nitro is European model and the Nitron is the US copy. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Did you know insurance companies declare you dead at age 100 and give you back all your premiums. Looks like your grandkids wont be able to cash in on your death. CSA #699 Muff #3804 -
Slacklining - another fun way to hurt yourself on the dz

Thanks, I stayed away from that area. I don't trust anyone to pack my own canopy. I take it back "Packing Cathy" is the only one I have ever trusted to do it. CSA #699 Muff #3804 -

Where is the "Nylon City"? I was at Z-Hills not to long ago and don't remember seeing or hearing about it (slackline). I would have given it a go if I had known about it. I guess it was best not knowing. I can't begin to think of the out come when you mix a bunch of drunk CRW dogs and a slackline. CSA #699 Muff #3804 -

I get it your to good to travel now that you had your first chop. Thats cool I'll just remind you of my plain ticket next time you tell me to go buy . As for the cold it's supposed to be 96 this weekend. I hope to be able to make one sometime in the latter part of October. If not I'll see you at the Puerto Rican Boogie in February. Viviana- You & Jason looking to have the same aircraft again? I always enjoy CRW out of the skyvan and the caravan was just the right size for the amount of CRW dogs who showed up. CSA #699 Muff #3804

What? there should be only two very small cuts where they pull the piping out, snip, burn, push everything back in and give you a single stitch on each cut. That is about it no more no less. The prep (shaving and cleaning) takes longer than the actual surgery itself. CSA #699 Muff #3804

My brother asked the Doc if could watch his, which the agreed to after his surprise wore off but, said hell no when he asked if he could do the snip snip himself. Since I only have one nut (lost the other to cancer) would they charge me half price or would I have to pay full? CSA #699 Muff #3804

OH, I can't believe I opened it knowing what to expect. But BWWWAAAAAAAA what a numb nut you are. That is going to hurt like a mother !^@%$& for the next week. And please tell me that isn't a really big half hoop or whatever its called pierced through your sack. Some placed just shouldn't be pierced. CSA #699 Muff #3804

The weather is great up her in Washington State why dont we move the camp a bit closer to ME. My home DZ has a great Twin Bonanza we all can jump from as well as a C206. Who needs turban aircraft anyway. CSA #699 Muff #3804 -
Viv- I loved the boogie last year and plan on attending again next year. I'm planning on taking my girlfriend as well so she can go through the AFF course while I'm grabbing some nylon. CSA #699 Muff #3804

I unfortunately wasn't ably to attend this year but am planning on making next years 40th calibration. The locals do cause some problems and as a result security has been hired to control the after hour party. Particularly on the last Friday and Saturday night of the boogie. I personally almost busted a bottle or two over the heads of a couple drunk locals who had NO respect for skydivers (females skydivers in particular) or the traditions we have at certain events. If someone passes out in the middle of the party regardless if their a skydiver or local you can count on a good hazing. As for the dick in the face a bit childish for me but hay, to each is his own. If he was peed on that would be to much. I personally think a prank involving body waist IS WAY OVERBOARD and deserves an ass kicking. Like the two people who decided to crap on the front porch of my tent and next to the car. Even wiped there ass and left the TP there. NOW, I don't know of a skydiver who would be that low so I'm assuming it was a couple of local yokels. Regardless of who it was if they ever pass out somewhere I hope they wake up with more than just a little make up and pen. LP is a great Boogie and can get a bit crazy. Under age un invited locals looking for a party do cause a lot of problems. Whether this dude was cool or not he was just on the receiving end of a little pissing match. No harm no foul. He didn't get hurt just laughed at. CSA #699 Muff #3804

I personally haven't lost one but I do remember a certain couple who caused two people to lose their shoes at the Z-Hills camp in March. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Wendy- I've been wanting one of those nifty "Them Toadsuckers" shirts. I'm picturing a photo of a wrap with the saying "wrap nothing sounds better" CSA #699 Muff #3804

I was watching the videos of landings and take offs yesterday. There are some pretty low flying plains along with some very short landings. I would love to be there when a 747 comes in for a short landing. I know the seen from "Pushing Tin" with John Cusack & Billy Bob Thornton is fake and all but could the wake turbulence really send you flying through the air like in the movie? CSA #699 Muff #3804

Jim, sorry I missed WFFC I'm sure everyone had a great time. It sucks that I had to cancel all my summer CRW events because of work. I'm planning to be in Perris next month and PR in Feb. Hope to see you at both. Will have my GF going through AFF at the PR Boogie. Safe Docks, Scott CSA #699 Muff #3804

Because I don't trust them I make sure I get to the airport early and check in when lines are short. After check in I will just stand to the side and watch my bag until the TSA is done inspecting my things and has put it on the conveyer. I have waited for more than 30 min. before just to watch them. I hope you get your stuff replaced and the thief gets his in the end. CSA #699 Muff #3804

I SO wish I could have been there. I dought anyone even mentioned my name Glad you had a good time and I look forward to everyone’s posted pics. I will be there most definitely next year. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Um, there is a reason why most of the CRW dogs go to Florida or California to jump. IT'S WORM & come Feb. I'll be one of those headed to Puerto Rico for a little CRW fun in the sun. Go for it though. I would do it here in Washington but everyone thinks it is to cold to jump. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Kevin- If you are thinking of Bob Felt & Jim Ras they are in Madison, WI about four hours away from the Twin-Cities. Along with Linda Ruiz there the only ones I know of in that area. CSA #699 Muff #3804

Now I have an incident that happened to me back in March while I was at Z-Hills. I wont name names or point fingers. This is one of those, "being cool/stupid could have not only hurt you but an innocent jumper as well". The innocent jumper was me. I have a great respect for swoopers as I think it takes a lot of balls to pull off a good swoop and I know just how fast things can go to shit if you are to low or an object is in your swoop path. That is why I give swoopers their space and stop walking in the landing are when I see one coming in for a landing. In this incident I did just that when I saw this jumper setting up to make his turn. Now this jumper levels out some 40 yards from me (still just standing and giving him his room) and after making eye contact makes a little turn directly towards me (still just standing there with canopy over shoulder) and proceeds to stick his foot out as if pretending to kick me in the chest as he passed within 3 feet of me. His swoop continued for another 30 yards so he still had a lot of speed going when he swooped bye. This jumper deliberately while surfing the ground made a course change directly towards me then attempted to scare me by pretending to kick at me. If his judgment had been off or I had jumped in any way we could have had a collision resulting in BOTH of us getting hurt. I will admit he had a nice swoop but his recklessness of flying at someone he didn’t know not only put himself in danger but he put my life in danger as well. I’ll be dambed if someone’s recklessness puts my life in danger. CSA #699 Muff #3804
